#1 Ponytail Barbie #850 1959 One owner, my mother who became a fashion merchandiser and lampshade designer. She loved this doll and it comes with many original partial outfits, detailed below. She even had some outfits handmade for this doll, in 1960, which we're including as part of this dolls story. The doll was purchased in 1959-1960 for my mom when she was eleven by her older sister from Uncle Tom’s Toys (now Tom’s Toys) at 682 Higuera Street in San Luis Obispo, California, and Tom's is still in business. All of the other outfits were also purchased around the same time. Original #850 Zebra Swimsuit outfit:One piece black and white zebra striped swimsuit Includes black open toe heeled shoes with holes, white sunglasses with blue lenses, and her gold tone hoop earrings 1959 Partial Outfits #921 floral petticoat 1959: Petticoat only #969 suburban shopper outfit 1959: Dress, sun hat and very fun Woven bag with fruit. (Aluminum clips on the hat lost their spring, but could be replaced) #961 evening splendor 1959: Gold and White Strapless Brocade Dress, Matching Gold and White Fur trimmed Coat Fur and Pearl Trimmed Headband, Green Corduroy Clutch Purse (White Satin Lining), Does not include: Brown Open Toe Heels, Short White Gloves, Matching earrings, White Hankie, Graduated Pearl Necklace. #972 wedding day 1959: Wedding Dress, veil, wrist corsage, Pearl necklace, Bouquet only. Not included: gloves, thigh corsage. #973 sweet dreams pink 1959: Shorts and Skirt, and Diary. Clock not included. Shorts are stretched out. Her original cardboard box, and booklet is not included. The doll is made of heavy vinyl plastic, partially solid body with excellent original skin tone color. Bottom of right foot marked JAPAN. See images for Barbie mark. Blonde saran ponytail hair & curly bangs. Pointy ^ ^ eyebrows like lightening bolts, side glancing eyes with white irises, and hand painted face. Closed red painted mouth. Brass metal cylinders in feet, that fit onto the stainless pins on the black Bakelite stand which has two chips, with Mattel Deboss. This allows her to stand "on her own feet." Her shoes all have holes which allow the pins to pass through. (Condition: Pre-Owned)

SULTRY! Rare #1 Brunette Ponytail Barbie! WOW!
Well this lovely lady has been with me for quite some time. Sadly, I am parting with her to buy new furniture. This doll was purchased from the estate of childhood owner and came dressed in Gay Parisienne! I sold the outfit and kept the doll. Anyway She is ALL ORIGINAL WITH NO RETOUCH! This is how she was purchased. She wears her original zebra SS. No missing hair. Hair is uncut. Hair is original topknot but it’s loose. Bottom rubber band remnant remains. She has safe replacement earrings. No missing fingers. Rods still in legs. See holes in feet. No stand or box. You are bidding on a lovely doll that was hidden away since the 1960’s in original condition - how sweet is that? Her body is stained - see photos. It is minor IMO but you decide. This is an original rare vintage 1959 issue #1 Ponytail Barbie doll with beautiful brunette hair, holes in feet, and original paint. I can personally attest to its originality as it was given to my sister in 1959. It does not have the original package, but comes with a 1960 Barbie Midg wardrobe case and accessories. Some of the clothing is original but it also includes custom made pieces sewn by my mom who was a professional seamstress. This doll is highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts alike, and is a must-have for any serious Barbie collector. The doll is in excellent condition, with no modifications made. It has been well-preserved over the years and has maintained its original charm and beauty. This Barbie doll is a true vintage gem and would make a perfect addition to any collection. This listing is for a Rare vintage 1960's Blond Ponytail Barbie Doll with Eyeshadow. She has the solid TM body, I am not sure what # she is. Her arms and legs are 100% tight. No bite marks, nose nips or neck splits, her ears have a tiny bit of green. Her hair is in the original ponytail, no missing hair plugs. Her bangs are soft and curly, hair needs to be brushed and styled, her scalp is flocked. Her hip has a tiny spot. Her fingernail and toenail polish is 80% intact. 1959 VINTAGE #2 PONYTAIL BARBIE DOLL *Not Played With” Orig. Hair/ No Green Ear
I wish I could say this doll is new….I honestly don’t think she was ever played with. I bought her along with her mint condition/not played with 1960’s wardrobe & a few other dolls. She had been dressed in the 1961 airline stewardess outfit. I believe that is why she has some subtle blue marks on her lower legs & her back. *She has no green ear at all*I don’t think her hair was ever brushed either. The top pony wrap is perfect and the lower rubber band is still in her hair. I think some hair accidentally came out of the ponytail when I was trying to take the wire hat off her head. I took pics of her feet & buttucks markings with my magnifying app. I still can not see a date on her buttocks, but I believe it is there (just naturally worn down from age). She has no visible cracks on her body. The only issue I see is the discoloration from the blue clothing. I will list her mint condition 1960’s clothing & accessories daily…as I get free time :)Please email me any questions. From my research, I believe she is a #2 blonde ponytail Barbie from 1959. VINTAGE BRUNETTE BARBIE #3 DOLL in VINTAGE GAY PARISIENNE #964 COMPLETE *RARE* VINTAGE BRUNETTE BARBIE #3 DOLL in VINTAGE GAY PARISIENNE #964 COMPLETE *RARE* Description Vintage Brunette Barbie #3 in Original Gay Parisienne #964 Vintage #3 Brunette Barbie Doll from 1960 wearing one of the hardest to find collectible outfits from 1959 - she is ready for her night out in Paris! The Vintage Barbie Gaye Parisienne #964 ensemble was released in 1959. Vintage Barbie Gay Parisienne combined couture design with elegant accessories to create one of the most successful designs of 1959. The dress is a deep blue rayon taffeta bubble dress and is in minty comdition. Same fabric bows trimmed in white adorn the hem in front and the top of the zipper closing in the back. The hat is a matching blue tulle veiled headband. The white satin lined faux fur stole is in great condition. The small gold velvet clutch has a gold bead closure and is lined in white satin. The white gloves, pearl necklace and gold hoop earrings complete the ensemble. This vintage ensemble is rare and hard to find, as it was only produced in 1959. Barbie is also in Excellent condition - she is the #3 Ponytail Barbie but her face has been painted to resemble a #1/#2 Barbie - she has no loose limbs, no cracks. She has faded to a fairly even ivory color and she smells like crayons. She has all her red finger and toe nail polish. Her hair is still in the original ponytail but her bangs are not good and have been styled to match the Paris outfit she is wearing - she still has a curl at the bottom of the ponytail. She has no green ear but holes for earrings are a bit darker. She has green dot on the back of the neck from the necklace clasp and a few indents around the front of her neck where the necklace has been sitting for so long - see pics. Her makeup is nice and bright! Overall this is a Gorgeous doll and she is ready to be a show stopper in your vintage Barbie display. I was born in 1950 and this is the head of my first Barbie Doll. This was my first which is why I kept her head. She is the "Holy Grail" of Vintage Barbies, only a few are known to exist. ( I think she is only the 6th one ever found) She is all original and never played with. She still has the original plastic on her head. She is in very nice minty condition.
