From my own childhood collection, barely used, carefully stored for over 40 years, in pristine/like new condition. This is a unicorn and collector's gem for any child or Barbie enthusiast because it has EVERY PART, EVERY PIECE of SEPARATELY-SOLD FURNITURE (slightly different and way more than the "furnished" version), and EVERY SINGLE HOUSE & FURNITURE ACCESSORY down to the tiny pegs holding in the plastic flowers. All hinged pieces (doors windows furniture) are in perfect working order, and all windows and "mirrored" surfaces are virtually scratch free. New! New! Open Box VINTAGE 1978 MATTEL BARBIE DREAM HOUSE A-FRAME WOW!
Up for sale is one 1978 Barbie Dream House. This Barbie Dream House is in mint condition in an open box. This is every doll collectors dream. It was owned by one person and stored away for years. The original factory sealed tape on the box has lifted. The parts that are still taped on I show in the pictures. Because this box was open, I had to inspect it carefully to make sure all the pieces were there. The screws for the dream house are sealed in their original bag. The green plastic pegs that go in the flower boxes, a few of them have come apart from the original plastic. They were loose in the original bag. I show this in the pictures. The color on the box is good but the box is slightly beaten up. You can see the corners. I show this in the pictures. The pieces in the box are slightly dusty because they have been stored away for so long. The color on the dream house is good. The white pieces are white. I was happy to see that they didn’t have discoloration from aging. If you are not familiar with this dream house, let me get you get acquainted. This is an a frame Dream House. It has three separate sections that make 6 rooms. The model number is 2588. This is the unfurnished version. It has a brown roof. It has yellow floors and yellow windows. The yellow windows and balcony doors are still sealed in the original plastic bag. It has yellow entry doors and yellow balcony doors. It comes with a closet with mirrored decals to stick on closet doors and six pink hangers to hang Barbie's clothes on. It also comes with original instructions, original warranty card and a Barbie Dream House Dream Furniture collection catalog so you can pick out the furniture you want to put in your dream house. The plastic flowers for the planter boxes are still sealed in the original packaging. This box is heavy. 34 pounds when packaged. It has been packaged with care. Each time I got a Barbie to play with, I also got the same one "for the collection" that was put away new in the box. Except for Malibu Barbie, which she picked up at a garage sale at some point. I've kept these Barbies in a rubbermade tote for over 30 years. Slight corner and seam wear from storage and the plastic has started to yellow on a couple of the boxes. Adhesive on the plastic bottom of 1989 Holiday doll has lost stickiness so bottom wants to come off, but ithas not been opened.
