With D-cell batteries (not included), it still does work a little when you turn it on by the stick shift, but a little tab on the tailpipe piece broke off, so it cuts out, because it cannot hold the batteries in tight. Up for auction, from my personal collection, is this mint, NRFB vintage New Good Lookin' Talking Ken with Bendable legs. Box shows very minimal shelf wear for its age. From 1968 Mattel #1111 Fully posable bendable legs Wrist tag Original plastic in good condition-not torn or damaged Doll has never been out of the box I have not pulled his talking ring, so I do not know if he talks or not. Lot Of 12 Vintage 1960's Barbie, Ken And Skipper Dolls
This listing includes a lot of 12 Barbie, Skipper and Ken Dolls, all by Mattel, all kinda dirty... Ken dated MCMLX (1960) He looks pretty good, but his head will come off too easily. Second Ken has legs that don't move, one is slightly bent too. 1968 Hong Kong First Barbie has a very hard mark to read but it's style matches the first Ken, so I think she is also 1960. Her earrings have made her cheeks blue. Red helmet hair. Next is a Skipper doll only marked Skipper 1963 mattel. Red hair that's messy but workable Blond Barbie has a very hard mark to read, I think it's 1963. Nice. Dark brown hair Barbie is definitely 1963. Nice but helmet hair All the dolls in the first row have the legs that don't bend at the knee. Second row: Blond Barbie? Dated 1968 Taiwan, she moves at her waist...I little to much! Next blond Barbie is dated 1966 Japan, she is nice. I'm not sure who this doll is, her arms are in a different position, dated 1966 Taiwan. Nice but hair is a little frizzy. Red head Barbie dated 1966 Japan, nice Skipper dated 1968 Taiwan, really nice hair for her age. She is cracked on her belly. Last doll is dated 1978 Philippines, no clue who she is, her arms are in a different position and will move out away from her body, if her head is up in the correct position it wobbles, I have it pushed down and she has no neck! There may be a stray non-Mattel brand.CONDITION: Box shows wear with edge scuffs, marks and discoloration. Lock is torn off and there are tears and exposed cardboard on creases and seams. Dolls and clothes have signs of play, use and aging. The hair is pretty good except for the ballerina. She has more matting. Some of the clothes have missing buttons/snaps but most are in tact. Loose threads and a couple have tears. I tried to show everything I could in the amount of photos I was allowed, but please don't hesitate to contact me with questions before bidding. I was given this set from the original owner and just don't have time to clean and repair. I'm hoping to find them a good home with someone who will take the time to bring these back to life.
