New ListingWOW RARE 1961 Vintage BROWNETTE Bubblecut BARBIE EXC Org BOX SS Std Shoes BIN!

Here is a sophisticated, very rare Brownette Bubblecut Barbie doll in her original box with original accessories! This is only the 2nd Brownette Bubble that I've ran across in over 32 years of collecting! I believe these dolls were an experimental early version Bubblecut, and Mattel abandoned this pretty sable mink hair color early on in their production. Maybe it was hard to consistently get this color hair material, or perhaps it was more a marketing decision by Mattel; but regardless these dolls are rare and elegant! This doll has her early version Bubblecut box which is unmarked for hair color, her original zebra striped swimsuit, black Japan mules, fashion booklet, and black wire stand. Though I've pictured her in a OOAK fur coat and Golden Girl sheath with brown mules, those items aren't included in this sale, as they are from my personal collection. I never seen a box marked "Brownette" for hair color; I think Mattel put them all into unspecified early version Bubblecut boxes. This doll has had retouching on her brows and lips, and she looks quite lovely. She doesn't have any green ear stains, neck splits, or nose nips. I've collected vintage Barbie for 30+ years, and I scrutinize items I sell on eBay. If you have a question that my description hasn't answered, please ask me:) You may want to save me as a seller, as I'm selling a large vintage Barbie collection on eBay. This pretty girl has a light complexion that hasn't darkened from smoke or molds. She doesn't have any bad odors. Her medium size bubble has nice firm waves and curls, and it doesn't feel like it was combed out. The hair is in nice condition, and has a nice shine. Barbie's face doesn't look shiny or greasy. She has retouched fire engine red lips and dark eyebrows. She has some original smokey gray eyeshadow. She doesn't have any nose nips, neck splits, or any green ear stains. I've given her pearl on filament earrings, so there is no danger of her getting any staining. Barbie has an early hollow body marked Barbie MCMLVIII Japan on her right butt cheek. Her arms and legs are tight and hold all poses. Her body shows a heavier vinyl in her legs, that is faintly around the thighs and not perfectly smooth, much like the vinyl of #4 Barbies' bodies. This fits with my belief that Brownettes were an early version of Bubblecuts. She has all of her nail polish and no stains or poke marks. Her arms are a shade darker than the rest of her body, with her left arm being a little darker than the right arm, see pics #13-15. I do notice a small dark dot on the back of her left lower arm, see pic #15. Her legs are very slightly pigeon-toed. Her black and white zebra striped swimsuit is in Excellent shape with no holes or tears; there's a faint hint of soil on the left breast (left in the pics), and a little bit of the left leg edge stitching has come undone. The elastic at the suit top still is good. Her black mules are marked Japan on the bottom of 1 shoe, and don't have any splits. The black wire stand is straight with good welds, and no corrosion. The blue Barbie, Ken, and Midge booklet is in Near Mint shape with no writing or tears. The original early version Bubblecut box displays well; the front and side graphics display well, though there is a water stain on the lid's lower right corner, see pics #2, #17-20. Pic #2 overexposes the graphics somewhat; pic #17 shows the front of the box better. The sides of the lid aren't perfectly straight, and bow out a little bit. The bottom short end of the lid says "Stock No. 850 Bubble Cut", and there is a paper peel where the price tag was removed. The lid's top left corner split has been repaired, and the lid's lower right corner had a partial 1" tear that has been glued. The box's bottom has 3 repaired corners and a replaced liner. You will treasure seeing this rare Brownette Bubblecut Barbie in your vintage Barbie collection! Please see my other auctions for more vintage Barbie and Francie doll and clothing lots, and for other vintage toys from the 50's - 70's. I'm happy to combine shipping charges for multiple purchases. Vintage #5 Titian Redhead Ponytail BARBIE KEN CLOTHING LOT Busy Mood Shopper BIN

What a cute cinnamon girl! This sweet redhead ponytail Barbie is quite demure, but also a knockout! This classic Titian Redhead #5 Ponytail Barbie & her handsome date, 1st issue Flocked Hair Brunette Ken, have lots of tagged outfits & original accessories for their active lifestyle. This collection will give you a big head start on your vintage Barbie collection. Barbie & Ken both have their original swimsuits and shoes! There are many tagged original Mattel outfits like Busy Morning, Mood for Music, Garden Party, Fancy Free, Suburban Shopper, Raincoat Movie Date, Pak Cotton Romper, Pak Pink Lingerie, Golden Girl, Singing in the Shower, Saturday Date, Dreamboat, Yachtsman, and Pak Cotton Shirt & Skirts, Pak purses and shoes! The collection comes with a nice Black Solo in the Spotlight Case & lots of hangers! Please note that the Kaiser stand displaying Barbie is not included in this lot. These dolls are in Excellent condition, and will look great on display, but they are not for "Mint" collectors. Barbie's hair has been professionally restyled into her ponytail with a hard curl at the bottom. She had some retouching done on her pink lips, as they had rubs, and her brows were mostly there but faded, so they were also retouched with artist's acrylic paint. She has never had green ear stains, nose nips, or neck splits. Ken has some very minor hair loss, but he's in great shape otherwise. Most of the clothing is in Excellent displayable condition, but there are some pieces that might need minor mending or cleaning, I will note any flaws that I see in my description. Please note that I do accept returns, but only if items are returned in unaltered, original condition.1961 #5 Redhead Titian Ponytail Barbie is a cutie with a lovely ponytail of shiny auburn hair, and loads of curly bangs. She has a hard curl at the bottom of her ponytail that was professionally restyled. Her complexion is fresh and nice; it hasn't darkened from smoke or molds. She has a matte complexion with no shine. Most of her candy pink lips were there, but they were a little thin, so she has had a lip retouch. Her brows were all there but a little faded, so they have been color-washed. She doesn't have any nose nips, neck splits, or green ear stains. She has never been treated for green ear. She has replacement pearl on filament post earrings that will never stain her head. She is on a hollow Barbie MCMLVIII marked body. She has all of her nail polish and no stains or chews, see pics #19 & #20. Her body looks very nice with minimal play wear. Her arms and legs hold all poses, but I note her left arm has a tiny bit of slippage from 10 degrees in front of her to directly down at her side. She has a small brown freckle (smaller than a pinhead) on the back of her left ankle. Her red Helenca swimsuit is soiled, and is missing some edge stitching. It doesn't have any rips, runs or holes; there is a little snagging in a line down the right5 front.1st issue Brunette Flocked Hair Ken: This guy has great facial features, but does have some minor hair loss, with a small bit missing at his front hairline, and a small patch on the lower back of his head, see pics #21 & #22. Please note there is a bit of white fuzz on the top back right side of his head in pic #22, that is not a bald spot, just fuzz that brushed off. He is stain-free, but needs some cleaning as his legs are a bit sticky and soiled. He comes with his original but untagged striped beach jacket & red trunks and his black wire stand (shown in the main pic). The beach jacket shows slight yellowing at edges of the terry collar; the trunks have some dark spots front and back. Yachtsman Outfit has a very clean jacket & striped tee. The pants show light soil along fronts of the legs Accessories Pic #6: These are all of the shoes included in this collection, except that Ken is wearing a pair brown loafers in the main pic that I didn't include in this pic. Barbie's Mattel shoes are: 1 pair gold wedge shoes, 2 pair of pink heels (1 with poms), 2 pair of red heels (1 shoe has a split), 1 pair of tall boots, & 1 pair of yellow scuffs. The other 6 pairs of her shoes are all clones; one black heel has a split strap. All 3 pair of Ken shoes are Mattel. I will note the hot pink Pak purse has pen ink on the front. There is also a white 3 face Barbie, Ken & Midge Fashion Booklet included, shown only in the main pic. It doesn't have any rips, tears, or writing in it.Clothing Pic #7 & #8: Sophisticated Lady: The rose satin dress is very clean & nice with the silver filigree lace. I see a tiny pulled stitch at the bottom of the left shoulder strap, you have to look hard to see it. The velvet coat has all 3 silver buttons and all button loops. The coat will display well, though it has a couple subtle spots of soil on the front skirt; with one along the lower right opening. The coat's back skirt also has a couple subtle spots. The clean gloves are nice, no rips or holes. Pink heels are good, the pearl tiara might be a Premier clone.Clothing Pic #9 & #10: Pak Pink Lingerie: Needs new waist elastic in the slip; bra also needs new elastic. Pink heels have replaced poms. Busy Morning: Dress shows aging & light soil on the shoulder straps and at top of the zipper. Mood for Music: No holes! Sweater is overall clean, but has faint soil on left front, might clean off. Pants look pretty good, but show a couple small spots on back inner legs, and some light fading yellowing along the front crease. Raincoat: Very clean & nice. Please note the tassel is loose from the umbrella & needs to be reattached Clothing Pic #11 & #12: Suburban Shopper dress: Cute sundress looks good, with working zipper. Shoulders straps show light soil discoloration Hat: has fraying, but pretty clean, good wire holders on underside. Cruise Stripes: Looks good, has slight soil at left bust dart tip & slight soil on straps. The skirt is a nice dark blue, my pics make it look linty and faded, but it is not. Pak Black/White Print Playsuit: Has an aged look, the white background of the print has yellowed. Pak Black Straight Skirt: Excellent. Plantation Belle Dress: Lace is in nice condition, a few pulls in the braid trim at the edge of the lace here and there. Zipper works, but can feel a bit sticky. Orange Pak Full Skirt: Nice!Clothing Pic #13 & #14: Pak Pink Pajamas: Very nice, slight yellowing at the aging elastic in sleeves and waist. Waist elastic has dried out. Singing in the Shower: Very nice, a faint hint of soil near front hem of robe. Ken Striped Silk?/Cotton Robe: Nice robe has some subtle age spotting on 1 sleeve, hard to see. Ken Pajamas: Nice, dried out waist elastic Clothing Pic #15 & #16: Gold Clone Strapless Dress: Pretty brocade fabric with a doughnut snap, nice shape. Floral Petticoat: Looks cute peeking out of Barbie's full skirts. It's clean, but waist elastic has stretched out. I've safety pinned the waist in Barbie's pics. Fancy Free: Looks good! Garden Party: Dress shows aging/yellowing of bodice and sides of skirt. Short gloves are slightly yellowed. Pak Hot Pink Purse: Has ball point pen ink at top front. Movie Date dress: Dress has soil on bodice front left of the bow. Back of skirt has damage to the sheer overlay left of center hem; a chunk of the sheer fabric is gone. Pak Red Cotton Shirt: Nice! Pak Jeans: Look good. Clothing Pic #17 & #18: Pink Satin Dress & Lined Coat: Nicely homemade, pretty brocade fabric, clean. Asian Turquoise Sheath: Nicely homemade of thin silk. Golden Girl: Fabric isn't crisp, but it's clean & will display nicely. Orange Gingham Dress: Clean, cute homemade dress with inset fabric bodice.Clothing Pic #23 & #24: Saturday Date: Suit looks very nice, jacket is missing bottom button loop. Pants show a little shine from overironing near the waist. Shirt is amazingly white, striped tie has replaced rubber band. Black nylon socks. Dreamboat: Outfit looks great, the hipster hat shows some wear and discoloration at the brim. Yellow socks show red staining on the soles from crayon maybe? Shoes will cover the red.Black Solo in the Spotlight Case (only pictured in main pic): Excellent shape; graphics looks great on both sides. Has all drawers, clasp & handle, and a red vinyl strap to hold Barbie in. The metal clasp shows corrosion. Has a 1/2" tear in the vinyl at the bottom of the spine hinge. The metal frame around the halves of the case isn't perfectly square, but case looks very nice, and will keep Barbie's clothing in shape:)You'll love displaying this pretty vintage ponytail Barbie & Ken, and all their fashions! Please see my other auctions for more Barbie & Francie doll and clothing lots, and for other vintage toys from the 60s - 80s! I'm happy to combine shipping charges for multiple purchases:) (Condition: Pre-Owned)
Vintage 5 BARBIE LOT Redhead Ponytail Bubble FQ Wigs ALLAN KEN TM Clothing BIN

Vintage 5 BARBIE LOT Redhead Ponytail Bubble FQ Wigs ALLAN KEN TM Clothing BIN

Here's a fun group of 5 vintage played with Barbie & family dolls; with lots of tagged clothing to display! These dolls have all been played with and have some minor play/wear issues, but as you can see, they still have good looks and charm! They will look cute on display, but they're not for "Mint" collectors. None of the dolls have nose nips, or neck splits; all of them have all their fingers and toes, and their limbs hold poses well. No green ear stains on the ponytail or bubble, only small dots of green on the Fashion Queen which are covered by safe pearl earrings. The #5 Redhead Ponytail Barbie has a beautiful face with retouched lips & a thin ponytail that might have a slight trim. This big lot includes a vintage 1961 #5 Redhead Ponytail Barbie, a 1963 Brunette Bubblecut Barbie, a Fashion Queen with 3 wigs, a Straight Leg Flocked Hair Brunette Ken, and a straight leg Allan doll, all ready to travel in a double size black 1961 Solo in the Spotlight doll vinyl trunk! These dolls will look great displaying your favorite vintage fashions. A lot of the tagged clothing needs cleaning and/or repairs, but I think the clothing is worth fixing. There are many tagged Mattel fashions included: a TM tagged Sweet Dreams, Senior Prom, Bride's Dream, Let's Dance, Solo in the Spotlight, Ski Queen, Resort Set Garden Party, Red Flare, Party Date, Dinner at 8, Pak Romper, Pak Olive Polka Dot Sheath, Saturday Date, Ken's Car Coat & Hat, Ken's Pajamas, Sport Shorts, and lots of clone and nicely homemade outfits. The doll stands are not included in this sale, but lots of doll hangers are included. I've collected vintage Barbie for 30+ years, and I scrutinize items I sell on eBay. I don't grade anything as "Mint" unless I've just taken it out of its original packaging. If you have a question that my description hasn't answered, please ask me:)The dolls have been wiped down & are pretty clean, but you may want to do a more detailed cleaning. Please note that I accept returns only if the items are returned in the original, unaltered condition.Starting on the left in the main pic:1961 #5 Redhead Ponytail Barbie: #5 Titian Ponytail dolls are one my favorite versions of Barbie, as they have such intense eyes and lips, and the early darker version auburn hair is so beautiful! This pretty girl has a matte, non-greasy complexion with original brows that have faded, and since she had some rubs to her red lips, they have been retouched. She has some original smokey eyeshadow, and the darker eye color seen in the 1961 dolls. No green ears, nose nips or neck splits. She has thick bangs, but her hair has been taken out of the original topknot, and the ponytail is braided, which you might want to redo. Her ponytail is thin, and it might be trimmed a little, see pics #5 & #24. I don't see any missing hair plugs. I added a rose to her ponytail bottom, because I think she looks like a tango dancer! No green ears, nose nips or neck splits. She has the earlier hollow Barbie MCMLVIII stamped body, with all fingers and all nail polish. No chews, and her limbs hold all poses. She has some faint green dots on the back of her ankles; you have to look hard to see them.1961 Brunette Bubblecut Barbie: This petite miss has a bit of a mop top, (or maybe she's a Beatles fan & wants to emulate them;) Her hair has some dryness on the ends around her face, but she's still a cutie! She seems like a transitional bubble to me; even though she has the earlier Barbie only body, she has a slightly bigger bubble hairdo with a matte, non-greasy complexion. She has original dark brows with retouched coral lips. She also was given a hint of blush. No green ears, nose nips or neck splits. Her hollow body has the earlier Barbie only marking on the right butt cheek. She has all fingers and toes, and all nail polish. She has a couple tiny dents on her right hand's fingers, it's not bad. I didn't have enough pics to show that. She has slight breast tip damage; no punctures or dents, but there's slight dimpling on left breast tip (on right in pics). Her left arm is slightly longer and darker than her right arm. Her limbs hold most poses, with her right arm slipping only in the very lowest position, from 15 degrees in front to straight down at her side. She has faint pinkish staining at the back of her mid-left thigh down to her upper left calf. 1st Issue 1960 Brunette Flocked Hair SL Ken: He's the perfect date with nice original facial features! I will note he has a tiny 1/16" scratch at his left chin (on the right in the pics), and a tiny abrasion below his chin on his right side, see pic #23. These tiny flaws don't show unless you look super closely. He has retained quite a bit of his flocked hair, considering he was played with. His hair some wear at the left edge of his upper forehead (left in the pics), and a little at his left temple. There's also a 5/8" long line across the back top of his crown that has lost the hair. He's marked Ken TM MCMLX on his right butt cheek. His body is stain free, and his limbs will hold all poses. I fixed his right arm with a small rubberband inside the joint's gap, as the arm slipped a little in lower positions. You might be able to see a little bit of the rubberband at the underarm up close, but the arm is nice and tight now, & shouldn't show when he wears any outfit.1963 Fashion Queen Barbie & 3 wigs: This pouty gal has many different looks with her 3 wigs! The redhead sidepart wig is slightly messy and could use a little restyling. She comes with a nice condition blonde bubblecut wig, and super nice brunette page boy wig. The brunette wig looks like it was never combed out, see pic #4. The blonde wig show some green on the inside of the wig cap (from a pin?), but it hasn't stained the hair & doesn't show on display. Her original face make-up looks great with slight wear on her original coral/pink lips & nice dark brows with smokey eyeshadow. Her coloring is light and peachy, not discolored from smoke or molds. Her painted hair doesn't have any rubs. She has a small green dots at each ear that is covered by the pearl on filament earrings. No nose nips, or neck splits. She is on a Midge 1962/Barbie 1958 marked body with all nail polish. The body is in good shape with tight limbs and no finger chews. Her joints hold all poses well. She has some light scratching on the back of her torso. Straight Leg Allan: Ken's best bud is up for any adventure! This handsome redhead has nice original face paint, with a teense of wear to his lower lip. The waves at the front of his painted hair have some wear, and there's a tiny bit wear at his right temple (on left in pics). His joints are very tight, and hold all poses. He's marked 1960 Mattel on his right butt cheek, and he doesn't have any chews or pokes. He's a small pinkish felt pen mark on the back of his right heel. Some of the tagged clothing needs cleaning and/or minor repairs. I will mention any obvious problems that I notice in the clothing and accessories:Accessories Pic #6: One black clone shoe has a split. The red & orange mules, and the gold wedge shoes are vintage Japan Mattel shoes, as are the 2 pair of Ken shoes. The rest of the shoes are clones. The long gloves don't have any rips or tears, but the white gloves are discolored and could use a bleach. Ken's neck tie needs a new rubber band sewn on it. The sunglasses are clone. Please note a Yellow Barbie, Ken & Midge Booklet with a Midge paper insert is included (see main pic), and also the Solo in the Spotlight scarf (fraying on 1 side and tearing at 1 corner).Clothing Pic #7 & #8: Dinner at Eight: Over dress is nice. Jumpsuit is clean, but a little limp. It needs a 5/8" seam repair at back waist seam near back closure. Snap is coming loose, needs a stitch. Solo in the Spotlight dress is super nice with all of its glitter, but glitter does fall off as you handle it. The pink scarf (main pic) is frayed along 1 side and has tearing at 1 corner, I forgot to picture it here. White column gown is homemade and clean, but has a spot in the beadwork area, I would add a bead over the spot. Let's Dance dress needs a 1/2 snap added to the back closure. Floral Petticoat has stretched waist elastic.Pic #9 & #10: Senior Prom: Dress will display well though there is light soil on the bodice. The tulle panels are in good shape and cover up the stains and soil on the satin underskirt. The tagged fur stole has hook and eye closures & a clean lining. Ken's Pajamas are missing a button, & have light soil. The bottoms have stretched elastic. His robe has some fading/slight yellowing in areas.Pic #11 & #12: Sweet Dreams: Has a TM tag! Panties need new leg elastic, but waist elastic is good. Red Flare: Coat, hat, & purse have clean, nice velvet. Coat's lining has a big stain, but it doesn't go through to outer velvet. Rhinestone on purse has been replaced by a button. Busy Gal Blouse: faint soil, spot on back halter strap, needs a new loop for the button at neck. Sweater girl sweaters have holes, mostly on cardigan, shell looks pretty good. Cardigan is missing 1 gold button. The skirt needs 1/2 a snap sewn on, needs a stitch at a waist dart.Pic #13 & #14: Bride's Dream dress should display well, has light soil at shoulders & 1 spot on outer chiffon skirt at back of dress (should spot clean out). The veil has an intact wire & good tulle. The pearls on the veil show some loss of the pearl coating. Homemade lavender column dress has faint soil at bodice. HM green print sundress is nice. Light Blue clone wiggle dress is like new, clean & crisp with pressed on silver snaps. Pic #15 & #16: Resort Set Jacket is nice. Pak White Romper is pretty clean. Pak Olive Polka Dot Sheath looks pretty good. Clone red jacket & pleated skirt look great, but skirt needs 1/2 snap sewn on.Pic #17 & #18: Garden Party dress is nice, just has faint aging/yellowing of fabric, mainly on the back. Party Date dress has a soiled bodice; and it's lost most glitter on the skirt. Gold belt shown is clone. HM pink brocade strapless sheath is clean & nice, as is tan brocade coat. Dress has slight fray at waist dart. Coat has slight fraying at underarms, needs small repairs there.Pic #19 & #20: Ken's Saturday Date looks good; the shirt is yellowed slightly & the tie needs a new rubber band sewn on. Sport Shorts outfit looks good. Car coat & hat are clean & nice. Pic #21 & #22: Winter Holiday jacket is stiff & has tan discoloration; the striped top is slightly dingy, but the black pants are nice. Ski Queen jacket has 1 red ribbon tie torn off short, zipper works. The blue ski pants need a small repair at the elastic waist where elastic is coming unstitched. Blue Pak Apron looks good. Cotton Casual has soil on the bodice, & needs its bows retied.1961 Vinyl Solo in the Spotlight Black Vinyl Trunk: I don't have enough pics to show the case. The graphics look very nice on both its sides. There aren't any splits in the outside vinyl at the hinge! The handle has a little surface "stuff" on it that needs to be cleaned off. Has an intact handle and latch and all 3 accessory drawers inside, & a red plastic strap to hold a doll in. The housing for one of the drawers is loose, it just needs a little glue at the bottom to tack it down. A nice way to store dolls and clothing. If you enjoy displaying vintage dolls and their clothing, this big 5 doll lot will give you an instant Barbie collection!
