She taught me to take very good care of her. I tried to do that. My husband has recently passed away and I am faced with financial challenges. Beautiful Vintage #1 Ponytail Barbie Doll 1959 One Owner OG Stand & Collection!
RARE FIND! Number One Blonde Ponytail Barbie with the Original Early Fashions, Pronged TM Mattel #1 Stand Accessories and Case Little nine year old Alice received the first issue Barbie teenage fashion doll for Christmas in 1959. Mattel’s Barbie had just made her debut at the International Toy show in New York. This is a rare opportunity to own a very special number one Barbie with the original “one owner” childhood collection. It includes many early fashions, complete with the jewelry and accessories This Ponytail Barbie is stunning with her cute upturned nose and signature ponytail. She has dramatic lightning shaped eyebrows and handpainted makeup ; blue side glancing eyes, blue eyeliner, smoky eye shadow, coral red lips, red fingernails and toenails. She’s truly stunning and in remarkable condition for being 64 years old. She is 99% original and retains most of her original factory characteristics This number one blonde ponytail has the extended hairline, which is different from the number threes and later dolls. She is very unusual and rare in that she has two distinctly different hairlines from left to right. Her right side is curved and differs from the straighter hairline on the left. She is wearing her original hairstyle set with the top knot and hard curl at the bottom. The ponytail has been retied with matching colored thread as the band was shot. Her hair is uncut and she has no missing plugs. She has a flocked scalp, silky floss hair in baby chick yellow, full poodle bangs with well defined curls and a cute spit curl on her forehead. Her make up is excellent. as is the the nail and toenail polish. She has all of the correct markings on her bottom; Mattel Barbie TM, 1958 in Roman numerals, pat pending and the number 65. She is marked Japan on the bottom of one foot. Her limbs are nice and tight, but she is able to hold any pose. Her neck moves freely, and there are no issues. She has beautiful and even creamy, pale pinkish ivory body color which is amazing as I e usually sees a in e sort of fading . She has beautiful straight legs with the desired daylight shown only between the thigh and knee , and knee and ankle…A sign of classical beauty with models. She has holes in each of her feet with the original copper tubes present. And she even has her original Mattel TM two prong stand which is very valuable! She has had very minor work done.. a professional restoration to her right pinky and a little touch up to her eyelash ridges. There was also one teeny pinpoint freckle on her left leg just below the knee that has been touched up to match the body color . If you look closely at the photos, you will see how gorgeous this doll is. I have not seen one in original condition that is this outstanding. Barbie has a boyfriend , Ken, who will be listed in a separate listing. Blonde Barbie comes with her original iconic black and white swimsuit, white cat, eyeglasses, black, OT mules with holes. Thankfully her feet do not have any of the staining that is typical with these Barbies. She also has her original gold bangle, hoop earrings! One hole per ear and no green ear! How perfect is this girl?! She is FABULOUS! It was so fun to find Barbie in her original little nest with all the fun boxes and precious accessories that Alice had lovingly kept and preserved. You can tell that this Barbie was truly loved and treasured. RARE 1959 Original Vintage #1 Brunette Ponytail Barbie Doll with clothes. This was my wife's 10th birthday present in 1959, and she has kept it lovingly ever since. This Barbie is in very good condition. She has the holes in her feet to hold her up in the included original stand (which has a cosmetic chip on the back side). The copyright marking is visible on her right buttock. Her right foot has the word JAPAN on the bottom.She has white irises and sharply arched eyebrows. All of her features are original. Her ponytail has never been taken down. This is the exact model shown on the Wikipedia page about the introduction of Barbie at the American International Toy Fair on March 9, 1959, Barbie's official birthday. See https: en wikipedia org wiki Barbie HistoryIncluded: Original zebra striped swimsuit, original gold hoop earrings, and original stand. Also included is the original issue of the Fashion Booklet. The front and back covers are detached, but present. Most of the included items of clothing are from the original catalog. The red plaid wool coat has a Barbie label from a later time. The shirt of the riding outfit is from #967 Picnic Set. The other pieces of that outfit are not labeled. The wedding dress with veil, the pioneer dress with bonnet and the cape with 2 piece dress were handmade by my wife for our daughters’ Barbies in the 1970s. Some of the shoes shown are original. This is a clean one-owner Barbie from 1959. As you can see, the color on this doll is a really nice natural skin tone. Not faded or discolored like most of these early Barbies. There are stains are on the feet where the shoes were on but the rest of the doll is very nice.

This is a 1959 Ponytail Barbie #2 owned by my mom (see picture!). Overall excellent condition. It includes everything you see here - original box, stand, booklet, swimsuit, sunglasses, and shoes.No greening around earrings. Nail and toenail polish in excellent condition. Paint on face in excellent condition (left eyelash line has small scuff of paint rubbed away). Small hole in swimsuit (see picture). There are so many things that it's nearly impossible for me to figure out. Tons of clothing with very little wear /play but much wrinkled. Lots of shoes, and little books purses pantyhose dresses , little pieces of furnishings, plants , 3 different kinds of stuffed dogs A case with built in furniture as well a barbie doll . As I decided to put her in with this huge doll lot. This is definitely a great item to have for collectors tons of things not even shown it's probably going to feel like christmas sorting through all of the little pieces and clothes ect....some clothing don't have the barbie tag and the majority do. Vintage Barbie Roman Holiday TM
eBay Up for bid is this stunning TM Barbie label; the original Roman Holiday outfit including its original brass compact with engraved B; year manufactured 1959, No. 968. This is an ultra rare opportunity to acquire this part of Barbie history for your collection. This outfit is considered the "Holy Grail" of Barbie collecting and the complete TM version is an even rarer find in this condition!The little brass compact is about 10.5 mm or 3/8" across and has the engraved "B" on it's cover. It is fully functional with the hinge intact. The little pink puff is missing however. The compact is so hard to find because years ago many of these little items were thrown out or swept up in mom's vacuum cleaner!! The outfit includes the dress and belt with a matching red and white ribbed coat with red half lining and gold buttoned front and in back pocket fronts with gold buttons. The Barbie Tag on coat is the original TM version.
