#1 Blonde Ponytail Barbie 1959. EXCELLENT. Superior molding quality. One owner
#1 Ponytail Barbie #850 1959 One owner, my mother who became a fashion merchandiser and lampshade designer. She loved this doll and it comes with many original partial outfits, detailed below. She even had some outfits handmade for this doll, in 1960, which we're including as part of this dolls story. The doll was purchased in 1959-1960 for my mom when she was eleven by her older sister from Uncle Tom’s Toys (now Tom’s Toys) at 682 Higuera Street in San Luis Obispo, California, and Tom's is still in business. All of the other outfits were also purchased around the same time. Original #850 Zebra Swimsuit outfit:One piece black and white zebra striped swimsuit Includes black open toe heeled shoes with holes, white sunglasses with blue lenses, and her gold tone hoop earrings 1959 Partial Outfits #921 floral petticoat 1959: Petticoat only #969 suburban shopper outfit 1959: Dress, sun hat and very fun Woven bag with fruit. (Aluminum clips on the hat lost their spring, but could be replaced) #961 evening splendor 1959: Gold and White Strapless Brocade Dress, Matching Gold and White Fur trimmed Coat Fur and Pearl Trimmed Headband, Green Corduroy Clutch Purse (White Satin Lining), Does not include: Brown Open Toe Heels, Short White Gloves, Matching earrings, White Hankie, Graduated Pearl Necklace. #972 wedding day 1959: Wedding Dress, veil, wrist corsage, Pearl necklace, Bouquet only. Not included: gloves, thigh corsage. #973 sweet dreams pink 1959: Shorts and Skirt, and Diary. Clock not included. Shorts are stretched out. Her original cardboard box, and booklet is not included. The doll is made of heavy vinyl plastic, partially solid body with excellent original skin tone color. Bottom of right foot marked JAPAN. See images for Barbie mark. Blonde saran ponytail hair & curly bangs. Pointy ^ ^ eyebrows like lightening bolts, side glancing eyes with white irises, and hand painted face. Closed red painted mouth. Brass metal cylinders in feet, that fit onto the stainless pins on the black Bakelite stand which has two chips, with Mattel Deboss. This allows her to stand "on her own feet." Beautiful Vintage #1 Ponytail Barbie Doll 1959 One Owner OG Stand & Collection!
RARE FIND! Number One Blonde Ponytail Barbie with the Original Early Fashions, Pronged TM Mattel #1 Stand Accessories and Case Little nine year old Alice received the first issue Barbie teenage fashion doll for Christmas in 1959. Mattel’s Barbie had just made her debut at the International Toy show in New York. This is a rare opportunity to own a very special number one Barbie with the original “one owner” childhood collection. It includes many early fashions, complete with the jewelry and accessories This Ponytail Barbie is stunning with her cute upturned nose and signature ponytail. She has dramatic lightning shaped eyebrows and handpainted makeup ; blue side glancing eyes, blue eyeliner, smoky eye shadow, coral red lips, red fingernails and toenails. She’s truly stunning and in remarkable condition for being 64 years old. She is 99% original and retains most of her original factory characteristics This number one blonde ponytail has the extended hairline, which is different from the number threes and later dolls. She is very unusual and rare in that she has two distinctly different hairlines from left to right. Her right side is curved and differs from the straighter hairline on the left. She is wearing her original hairstyle set with the top knot and hard curl at the bottom. The ponytail has been retied with matching colored thread as the band was shot. Her hair is uncut and she has no missing plugs. She has a flocked scalp, silky floss hair in baby chick yellow, full poodle bangs with well defined curls and a cute spit curl on her forehead. Her make up is excellent. as is the the nail and toenail polish. She has all of the correct markings on her bottom; Mattel Barbie TM, 1958 in Roman numerals, pat pending and the number 65. She is marked Japan on the bottom of one foot. Her limbs are nice and tight, but she is able to hold any pose. Her neck moves freely, and there are no issues. She has beautiful and even creamy, pale pinkish ivory body color which is amazing as I e usually sees a in e sort of fading . She has beautiful straight legs with the desired daylight shown only between the thigh and knee , and knee and ankle…A sign of classical beauty with models. She has holes in each of her feet with the original copper tubes present. And she even has her original Mattel TM two prong stand which is very valuable! She has had very minor work done.. a professional restoration to her right pinky and a little touch up to her eyelash ridges. There was also one teeny pinpoint freckle on her left leg just below the knee that has been touched up to match the body color . If you look closely at the photos, you will see how gorgeous this doll is. I have not seen one in original condition that is this outstanding. Barbie has a boyfriend , Ken, who will be listed in a separate listing. Blonde Barbie comes with her original iconic black and white swimsuit, white cat, eyeglasses, black, OT mules with holes. Thankfully her feet do not have any of the staining that is typical with these Barbies. She also has her original gold bangle, hoop earrings! One hole per ear and no green ear! How perfect is this girl?! She is FABULOUS! It was so fun to find Barbie in her original little nest with all the fun boxes and precious accessories that Alice had lovingly kept and preserved. You can tell that this Barbie was truly loved and treasured. Alice did not let other children touch or play with her doll :-)*** This collection would not be complete without a photo of little Alice in December of 1959 around the time that she received this Barbie for Christmas. The photo is included here and a printed copy along with the original provenance of this doll will come with the collection upon request Barbie will come with her original white Ponytail case , dated 1961. A couple minor tears at the seams. And her original TM #1 Ponytail fashion booklet along with the second issue with Barbie and Ken in silhouette in the cover . Vintage #3 PONYTAIL BARBIE BRUNETTE BLONDE BROWN EYELINER CLOTHES SHOES + LOT
Hi, you are bidding on this vintage stunning #3 Ponytail Barbie brunette and blonde pair of dolls wearing their original swimsuits, JAPAN black open toe shoes, sunglasses and comes with one original booklet that has "Commuter Set" pictured along with original clothes, shoes and accessories shown. Brunette Barbie has a gorgeous face with brown eyeliner, nice face paint and hint of blush still visible. She has no neck splits and no nose nips but has a teensiest faint tinge of green just around left earring hole that is hidden when earrings are in. Her hair is shiny and soft with no cuts and no missing hair plugs. Top band may be original, bottom band was replaced. Hair could use styling. Her original body is in lovely condition with most of her original fingernail and toenail polish. Barbie has a beautiful stance. She's marked, "Barbie T.M. MCMLVIII BY MATTEL, INC." on her bottom and JAPAN is long ways down foot. Her swimsuit displays well and is still stretchy at top. It could use a gentle soak. The JAPAN heels and original sunglasses are in good condition. Blonde Ponytail Barbie has a beautiful face. Her left eyebrow had paint loss so was touched up for display. She has no green ear, no neck splits and no nose nips. Her hair is shiny and soft. There are no missing hair plugs and not sure if it has had the slightest trim or if curls on end of ponytail were just pulled out. Hair will need styling. Her original body has the early pronounced chest/nipples that were later removed due to parent dissatisfaction ;)Body is in nice display condition marked, "Barbie T.M. MCMLVIII BY MATTEL, INC." with most of her original fingernail and toenail polish; JAPAN is written long ways down bottom of right foot. Her original swimsuit is in nice display condition but elastic at top is stretched. Sunglasses and JAPAN shoes are in good display condition. The booklet is nice for display. There was a name written on front that was erased. This booklet has Commuter Set pictured. "Apple Print Sheath #917" dress with original T.M. tag. Dress is in nice display condition. The zipper has some oxidation so is a little "slow" but still works fine and is secure. Also included is the complete Barbie fashion, "Party Date #958". Set includes: dress with gold glitter, gold dimple belt, matching gold dimple clutch purse and clear gold glitter JAPAN marked open toe heels. The dress has aged to more of a champagne color as shown so will need a gentle soak to brighten and remove some light age/storage spotting on bodice. The fabric still feels crisp and still has tons of glitter. The belt and purse are lovely. Shoes have darkened to a champagne color also so match well; they are missing some glitter but still pretty for display. Last is the near complete Barbie fashion, "Sweet Dreams #973" that includes baby doll yellow pajama set with original T.M. tag attached, hair ribbon, apple in original plastic, diary, alarm clock and light blue JAPAN marked open toe heels. The set is in very nice condition with stretchy elastic on bottoms and both bows still attached on bottoms. The ring on hair ribbon was replaced. Accessories are lovely. JAPAN heels are in good condition but the one without pom is not original to set. Shoe boxes, boxes for sunglasses and boxes for other accessories are included as shown along with hangers. BLACK METAL KAISER STANDS ARE INCLUDED. All items are from a pet and smoke free home. RARE 1964 Barbie Round the Clock Gift Set Doll 3 Outfits Bubble Cut 60s Mattel
Such a beautiful doll and an amazing giftset!! Ultra rare, especially in this great condition, Barbie's 'Round the Clock Giftset was issued in 1964 and featured three iconic outfits, "Fancy Free", "Career Girl", and "Senior Prom", plus a beautiful blonde Bubble Cut Barbie in her red knit swimsuit. Each outfit is complete with shoes and accessories, plus the set includes a fashion booklet. This set is Mattel stock number 1013. This giftset is in great condition and shows some signs of wear. The Barbie was opened at one point in time but looks to be in never played with. The box does show somewhere and the plastic was opened but is still there. The Barbie does have green ear on both sides and some has leached onto the hair, I did not try to clean it. The outfits are in pristine condition. There is a small plastic bag included and the 2 dresses have there cardboard inserts. The box itself is bright, but does show wear throughout. Angelic 1960 Vintage Blond Ponytail #3 Barbie
This vintage Barbie doll from 1960 is a must-have for collectors and doll enthusiasts alike. With her blonde hair and ponytail, she is sure to stand out in any collection. She has an angelic look, and a matte finish to her ivory skin. She has the early nippled body all original make up and top knot. Not sure if ponytail has been retied and styled. I bought her this way many years ago. Her only flaw is a little bit of green on her thumb as she came with, the alarm clock around her thumb from the baby doll sleep tight ensemble. I know that some collectors will want to know that the original owner is still with us, happy and healthy - and this comes from them and not an estate sale. This is a large collection and I have A LOT of pictures to share. Not all of those pictures will fit on this listing. THIS LISTING contains the "main" pictures. Her hair is uncut with nice plugs and soft texture. I did give the doll a superficial cleaning (soap and water) and washed her hair. I left a curler in her hair as it dried so the curl will not last (I didn't want to risk using heat). Her hair color has a bit of lemony yellow to it that I assume comes from age. Her bangs look great and are soft and springy. She does have pierced ears but no green spots. She does come with her original hoop earrings and striped swimsuit. Her torso is already pale but her face and limbs still have some of the flesh coloring. She has some paint rubs on her eyeline. No broken hands or feet - no chew damage. All of her nails still retain their original red polish. She has an indentation line on her right hip and a fairly flagrant mark on her lower back. All of her joints are nice and tight - no loosey arms or legs. There is a discoloration around her neck - no neck splits. As she is a #3, no holes in the feet although most her fashions come with the shoes with the holes on the bottom. EASTER PARADE #971 - Dress is nice, no issues. Coat shows some faint wrinkling to crepe like fabric but nothing flagrant or damging. Hat is showing some mild fraying on the ribbon tips/ Purse is discolored. Shoes are original and have the hole in the bottom - no cracks or splits. Peachy Fleecy #915- Coat has some discolored spots on the back, otherwise fine. Gloves are also a little discolored and stiff. The hat is a little smooshed but the feather is fine - the pearl has lost its veneer. Shoes are original, no cracks or splits. They also have a hole in the bottom. SWEET DREAMS #973 - Overall nice shape - clock is a bit rusted and I'm not entirely sure the "headband" is anything but a chenille stick but also fine. SWEATER GIRL #976 - Skirt shows a little fading. Both the sweater and the shell blouse shoe some holes in the knit. Sweater is missing (1) button and all of the pearls are missing their veneers. SUBURBAN SHOPPER #969 - Hat shows some discoloration. The ribbon is a little faded. Purse has a loose apple with some paint fade, otherwise fine. Dress is nice, no issue. BUSY GAL #981 - One of the side strings on the portfolio is in a knot. The jacket and the blue body blouse need a steam. Both sketches show some yellowing. Hat has a bit of a curl to it. Overall nice shape. Undergarments #919 - Most all of the elastic bits are relaxed. Bra and full slip see a bit faded. Winter Holiday 975 - The coat and the gloves are stiff. There is a small blue mark on the collar. Vinyl on the shoes is also stiff. Everything else is fine. Evening Splendor #961 - Dress is nice, no issues. Coat has some fading to the inner lining. Both the necklae and the hat are missing pearls. Purse and gloves show some discoloration. Shoes are original, no cracks or splits but they do have the hole in the bottom.Cotton Casual #912 - Ribbons are a bit smooshed, otherwise fine. Comes with (1) original shoe (it also has a hole). Commuter Set #916 - The outfit itself is fine, no issues. It comes with only one glove. Shoes are fine but they are of a later model, no hole. Hat seems a little wild but no damage. Hat box shows a tear and some tape repair, otherwise fine. Bracelt is smooshed. Big selection of same era clone outfits - some carry international tags. Pictures of these clone outfits are on the other/picture listing (above link). They too carry some flaws but overall, most are in good shape. There are perhaps some slight mending to closures or such but nothing is junk. I saw a few spots but nothing is ripped. I threw in the case, rack and some shoes (mostly Taiwan era) to round out the lot. Vintage Barbie #3 Brunette Ponytail 1960 In #963 Sweet Dreams ™ Pink Outfit
eBay Beautiful vintage #3 Brunette Ponytail Barbie with brown eyeliner, wearing #963 Sweet Dreams ™ outfit in htf pink variation, complete with diary, clock, apple, hair tie and Japan heels with poms. Her limbs are all tight. She has no green ear or neck splits. Her hair is original and she is missing a few plugs underneath her ponytail in the back. Her neck knob has been fixed and her head moves nicely and is not loose. Her left foot has been broken off at the end so she has no toes on that foot. Her makeup is all original and very nice. Her polish is also original and mostly intact. Her arms and legs are lighter than her torso. Her outfit is in very nice condition with ribbons intact. Her bottoms are missing one bow and the hem along the legs needs resewn. The ribbons are faded, but the pink is still pretty bright. Smoke free home.
