This is a rare opportunity to own a piece of history with this 1959 vintage Mattel original No.1 Barbie, included with vintage clothing, accessory, and vinyl case lot. The set includes a single-owner No. 1 Blonde Barbie with metal tubes in feet. She is in excellent shape and comes with original vinyl case, accessories, and shoes.The doll is part of a one-owner collection and has been kept in spectacular condition. #1 Ponytail Barbie #850 1959 One owner, my mother who became a fashion merchandiser and lampshade designer. She loved this doll and it comes with many original partial outfits, detailed below. She even had some outfits handmade for this doll, in 1960, which we're including as part of this dolls story. The doll was purchased in 1959-1960 for my mom when she was eleven by her older sister from Uncle Tom’s Toys (now Tom’s Toys) at 682 Higuera Street in San Luis Obispo, California, and Tom's is still in business. All of the other outfits were also purchased around the same time. Brass metal cylinders in feet, that fit onto the stainless pins on the black Bakelite stand which has two chips, with Mattel Deboss. This allows her to stand "on her own feet." SULTRY! Rare #1 Brunette Ponytail Barbie! WOW!
Well this lovely lady has been with me for quite some time. Sadly, I am parting with her to buy new furniture. This doll was purchased from the estate of childhood owner and came dressed in Gay Parisienne! I sold the outfit and kept the doll. Anyway She is ALL ORIGINAL WITH NO RETOUCH! This is how she was purchased. She wears her original zebra SS. No missing hair. Hair is uncut. Hair is original topknot but it’s loose. Bottom rubber band remnant remains. She has safe replacement earrings. No missing fingers. Rods still in legs. See holes in feet. No stand or box. You are bidding on a lovely doll that was hidden away since the 1960’s in original condition - how sweet is that? Her body is stained - see photos. It is minor IMO but you decide. Vintage VHTF #1 Blonde Ponytail Barbie Doll Zebra Suit Sunglasses Shoes 1959
Relisting this beauty after another cancellation. Serious offers only, please. Amazing Vintage Original #1 Blonde Barbie Doll No. 850 from 1959 wearing her original zebra stripe swimming suit & gold hoop earrings. She comes with her original cat eye sunglasses and black mules with holes She has all her blonde hair with no missing plugs in it's original factory ponytail. Her bangs look beautiful and curly. The ends of her pony seems to be fused together a bit. I didn't try to brush it out. She has her original hand painted face paint which is gorgeous. She has the arched #1 brows. No neck splits and no green ear. Her body is in excellent condition. It’s the correct solid TM body with the holes in her feet. It does look like the metal rods are sticking out a little from her foot bed and one has what looks like the prong of a #1 stand broken off inside the hole. She has faded to a fairly even ivory color. No loose limbs. She has all her red nail polish with little to no rubbing. She's marked Barbie on her bottom but the TM molding is a bit hard to see. She's also marked JAPAN crosswise in a "little rectangle" on her right foot. She does have some purple marks on her feet from wearing her shoes for many years. Please take a look at the photos. She is wearing her original zebra stripe swimming suit. No holes, stains or odors. Just some minor age related wear. She comes with her original blue lens sunglasses and #1 black mule shoes with holes in the bottoms. Since the pipes in her feet are sticking out a little, I had to work the shoes off...and now they don't really want to go back on. I'll let you decide how to proceed. The shoes themselves have no splits and the left is marked Japan on the bottom. I feel like they are more purply black after having leeched color into Barbie's feet all these years (oh my) and have some minor scratches on the foot beds from me taking them off. Beautiful Vintage #1 Ponytail Barbie Doll 1959 One Owner OG Stand & Collection!
RARE FIND! Number One Blonde Ponytail Barbie with the Original Early Fashions, Pronged TM Mattel #1 Stand Accessories and Case Little nine year old Alice received the first issue Barbie teenage fashion doll for Christmas in 1959. Mattel’s Barbie had just made her debut at the International Toy show in New York. This is a rare opportunity to own a very special number one Barbie with the original “one owner” childhood collection. It includes many early fashions, complete with the jewelry and accessories This Ponytail Barbie is stunning with her cute upturned nose and signature ponytail. She has dramatic lightning shaped eyebrows and handpainted makeup ; blue side glancing eyes, blue eyeliner, smoky eye shadow, coral red lips, red fingernails and toenails. She’s truly stunning and in remarkable condition for being 64 years old. She is 99% original and retains most of her original factory characteristics This number one blonde ponytail has the extended hairline, which is different from the number threes and later dolls. She is very unusual and rare in that she has two distinctly different hairlines from left to right. Her right side is curved and differs from the straighter hairline on the left. She is wearing her original hairstyle set with the top knot and hard curl at the bottom. The ponytail has been retied with matching colored thread as the band was shot. Her hair is uncut and she has no missing plugs. She has a flocked scalp, silky floss hair in baby chick yellow, full poodle bangs with well defined curls and a cute spit curl on her forehead. Her make up is excellent. as is the the nail and toenail polish. She has all of the correct markings on her bottom; Mattel Barbie TM, 1958 in Roman numerals, pat pending and the number 65. She is marked Japan on the bottom of one foot. Her limbs are nice and tight, but she is able to hold any pose. Her neck moves freely, and there are no issues. She has beautiful and even creamy, pale pinkish ivory body color which is amazing as I e usually sees a in e sort of fading . She has beautiful straight legs with the desired daylight shown only between the thigh and knee , and knee and ankle…A sign of classical beauty with models. She has holes in each of her feet with the original copper tubes present. And she even has her original Mattel TM two prong stand which is very valuable! She has had very minor work done.. a professional restoration to her right pinky and a little touch up to her eyelash ridges. There was also one teeny pinpoint freckle on her left leg just below the knee that has been touched up to match the body color . If you look closely at the photos, you will see how gorgeous this doll is. I have not seen one in original condition that is this outstanding. Barbie has a boyfriend , Ken, who will be listed in a separate listing. Blonde Barbie comes with her original iconic black and white swimsuit, white cat, eyeglasses, black, OT mules with holes. Thankfully her feet do not have any of the staining that is typical with these Barbies. She also has her original gold bangle, hoop earrings! One hole per ear and no green ear! RARE 1959 Original Vintage #1 Brunette Ponytail Barbie Doll with clothes. This was my wife's 10th birthday present in 1959, and she has kept it lovingly ever since. This Barbie is in very good condition. She has the holes in her feet to hold her up in the included original stand (which has a cosmetic chip on the back side). The copyright marking is visible on her right buttock. Her right foot has the word JAPAN on the bottom.She has white irises and sharply arched eyebrows. All of her features are original. Her ponytail has never been taken down. This is the exact model shown on the Wikipedia page about the introduction of Barbie at the American International Toy Fair on March 9, 1959, Barbie's official birthday. See https: en wikipedia org wiki Barbie HistoryIncluded: Original zebra striped swimsuit, original gold hoop earrings, and original stand. Also included is the original issue of the Fashion Booklet. The front and back covers are detached, but present. Most of the included items of clothing are from the original catalog. In the order of the photos, they are: #963 Resort Set, #918 Cruise Stripe Dress, #912 Cotton Casual, #977 Silken Flame, #921 Floral Petticoat. The red plaid wool coat has a Barbie label from a later time. The shirt of the riding outfit is from #967 Picnic Set. The other pieces of that outfit are not labeled. The wedding dress with veil, the pioneer dress with bonnet and the cape with 2 piece dress were handmade by my wife for our daughters’ Barbies in the 1970s. Some of the shoes shown are original. Vintage 1959 #1 Barbie Blonde Ponytail & Original Pronged Stand
I have recently acquired a vintage Barbie collection and will be listing various dolls, clothing and accessories within the next few months.This listing is for a vintage #1 Blonde Ponytail Barbie from 1959. She comes with her original pronged stand for display as well as her black and white zebra striped swimsuit, hoop earrings and black mules with the holes (one shoe marked JAPAN).The rubber band holding her ponytail has deteriorated. She has the iconic black and white irises and beautiful makeup as well as complete fingernail and toenail polish. Her legs are stiff. She has been on her stand for many years in that position so I didn't want to force them. She has the metal tubes in her feet. One is a little higher up than the other but they are both there. There is some color transfer on the bottoms of her feet from her mules. Her body is made of a heavy plastic and some areas have turned white over the years which is typical for this doll. She may be able to be cleaned however, I will leave that to the new owner. She is marked "Barbie, Pats Pend, ©MCMLV111, by Mattel Inc".This Barbie is definitely the holy grail. This gal has all original paint that is in amazing condition. Her hair is thick and full; I do not see any missing plugs. Her bangs are very nice and she still has some curl at the end of her ponytail. Her top knot has been retied.Her body is also very nice. She has retained much of her color; she has very nice coloring. She has both tubes in her feet. They protrude so it is difficult to get her shoes on over the tubes. She is not missing any digits, has no chews, no green ear and no foul odors. She does have a few dings/spots here and there, but nothing that takes away from her.Her TM box is very nice; the graphics are bright. One corner has been repaired and one end is a little faded. Her TM booklet is very nice; her #1 open toed shoes are very nice. I did not want to put them on her and cause a split on the top of the shoe. This is the One and Only Iconic #1 Ponytail Barbie, “born” on March 9, 1959. She is fabulous with a soft blonde ponytail that looks like it has the original tie.The curl at bottom of the ponytail has been cinched into a tight curl, held in place with some small amount of product. (See pictures.)Her bangs have what appears to be two rows of tiny original curls,No nose nips or neck splits. No strange smells. No spots or marks.Her torso and arms enjoy uniformly peach tones. eBay For your consideration is a beautiful, number one, ponytail Barbie. One owner, who keep this doll in a cedar chest all these years. Her face is one of the most beautiful that I have ever, still retaining all of it's original paint, even on her cheeks! Her hair is in it's original set and looks like the original rubber band. The only flaw that I can see is some discoloration on her feet where she had on shoes. It may come off but I ain't gonna touch it! Both of the metal shafts are present on the holes in her feet but one is shoved up into the hole, please see photos. All paint is present on her nails and toes. All limbs are tight and move well. Her torso even retains some of the original flesh color! Such nice clear crisp markings on her butt and foot. Comes with her original swimsuit and box. Box has one end missing and the other end has splits on the corners, please see photos. Also included are the coat and sheath dress for Evening Splendor. She had on this bra but I am not familiar enough with Barbie to know if it is a Barbie bra or not. It fits perfectly. Also one brown shoe with the hole in it, it is not marked Japan. Vintage HTF #1 Original Brunette Barbie Doll Zebra Suit Holes in Feet 1959
Vintage and very hard to find original #1 Brunette Barbie Doll with her black and white swimming suit from 1959. I was so excited to find her. She has all her original face paint with no touch ups. How pretty are those arched brows? Her lips have naturally faded to an orangey-red color. No green ear or neck splits. Her hair is in it's original ponytail with no missing plugs I can find. Her bangs are still very curly, although a touch all over the place. The ponytail is a little on the loose side and the ends seem to have lost some curl. You could totally restyle it if you'd like. I gave her a new lower elastic. Her body is in excellent condition. No loose limbs. She has all her original red finger and toe nail polish with just a little minor wear. There are just a few spots that look to me like they were from the original molding process- light indents on her right arm, a couple lines on the left arm and a raised spot on the back of her right calf. The color from her shoes has seeped into her feet giving them purple shoe shaped marks. This seems to happen with #1s and #3s who have been wearing their shoes for 50+ years. She has holes in both of her feet to accommodate the #1 stand. It looks like the copper tube on her right hole is pushed up inside about 1/8" from the bottom of her foot. The left is sticking out slightly. She's marked Japan lengthwise on the bottom of her right foot and Barbie TM on her bottom. Please see the photos as part of her description. (Condition: Pre-Owned)

Vintage Barbie Ponytail, Original #1 Barbie From 1959
Here is a #1 Brunette Barbie from 1959 in excellent condition. Barbie comes with her swimsuit, #1 heels, sunglasses, #1 booklet, hoop earrings and Brunette TM box, all original. Also included is a reproduction stand. I have several of these which I personally prefer over the original. Barbie has a long ponytail which has been restyled. Her lips and nails have been refreshed in the past. No green ear. She has the Japan box on one of her feet. Both tubes are present, one pushed in and the other sticking out a little. Barbie has a slight pinky tone color to her vinyl. Same even tone coloring. All joints and head move. The box is in good condition. A few corners have been reglued. Nice bright graphics. Just a beautiful doll. Please ask any questions you may have as there are no returns. Barbie will be insured with signature confirmation. RARE 1959 Original Vintage #1 Brunette Ponytail Barbie Doll with clothes. This was my wife's 10th birthday present in 1959, and she has kept it lovingly ever since. This Barbie is in very good condition. She has the holes in her feet to hold her up in the included original stand. The copyright marking is visible on her right buttock. Her right foot has the word JAPAN on the bottom.She has white irises and sharply arched eyebrows. All of her features are original. Her ponytail has never been taken down. We cleaned her body, but felt we didn’t have the expertise to clean the smudges on her face. This is the exact model shown on the Wikipedia page about the introduction of Barbie at the American International Toy Fair on March 9, 1959, Barbie's official birthday.
