Beautiful Vintage #1 Ponytail Barbie Doll 1959 One Owner OG Stand & Collection!
RARE FIND! Number One Blonde Ponytail Barbie with the Original Early Fashions, Pronged TM Mattel #1 Stand Accessories and Case Little nine year old Alice received the first issue Barbie teenage fashion doll for Christmas in 1959. Mattel’s Barbie had just made her debut at the International Toy show in New York. This is a rare opportunity to own a very special number one Barbie with the original “one owner” childhood collection. It includes many early fashions, complete with the jewelry and accessories This Ponytail Barbie is stunning with her cute upturned nose and signature ponytail. She has dramatic lightning shaped eyebrows and handpainted makeup ; blue side glancing eyes, blue eyeliner, smoky eye shadow, coral red lips, red fingernails and toenails. She’s truly stunning and in remarkable condition for being 64 years old. She is 99% original and retains most of her original factory characteristics This number one blonde ponytail has the extended hairline, which is different from the number threes and later dolls. She is very unusual and rare in that she has two distinctly different hairlines from left to right. Her right side is curved and differs from the straighter hairline on the left. She is wearing her original hairstyle set with the top knot and hard curl at the bottom. The ponytail has been retied with matching colored thread as the band was shot. Her hair is uncut and she has no missing plugs. She has a flocked scalp, silky floss hair in baby chick yellow, full poodle bangs with well defined curls and a cute spit curl on her forehead. Her make up is excellent. as is the the nail and toenail polish. She has all of the correct markings on her bottom; Mattel Barbie TM, 1958 in Roman numerals, pat pending and the number 65. She is marked Japan on the bottom of one foot. Her limbs are nice and tight, but she is able to hold any pose. Her neck moves freely, and there are no issues. She has beautiful and even creamy, pale pinkish ivory body color which is amazing as I e usually sees a in e sort of fading . She has beautiful straight legs with the desired daylight shown only between the thigh and knee , and knee and ankle…A sign of classical beauty with models. She has holes in each of her feet with the original copper tubes present. And she even has her original Mattel TM two prong stand which is very valuable! She has had very minor work done.. a professional restoration to her right pinky and a little touch up to her eyelash ridges. There was also one teeny pinpoint freckle on her left leg just below the knee that has been touched up to match the body color . If you look closely at the photos, you will see how gorgeous this doll is. I have not seen one in original condition that is this outstanding. Barbie has a boyfriend , Ken, who will be listed in a separate listing. Blonde Barbie comes with her original iconic black and white swimsuit, white cat, eyeglasses, black, OT mules with holes. Thankfully her feet do not have any of the staining that is typical with these Barbies. She also has her original gold bangle, hoop earrings! One hole per ear and no green ear! How perfect is this girl?! She is FABULOUS! It was so fun to find Barbie in her original little nest with all the fun boxes and precious accessories that Alice had lovingly kept and preserved. You can tell that this Barbie was truly loved and treasured. Alice did not let other children touch or play with her doll :-)*** This collection would not be complete without a photo of little Alice in December of 1959 around the time that she received this Barbie for Christmas. Incredible collection of 400 Barbie dolls. All Barbies are in their original boxes and in brand-new condition. On some boxes (about 20-30), the plastic protective part has cracked, and a few boxes are slightly dented, but the dolls inside are new. In some boxes, a few accessories might be missing (e.g., a shoe or a comb). Vintage 1959 #2 Brunette Ponytail Barbie doll with TM Box, Stand, & Fashion book
I have a vintage 1959 original #2 brunette ponytail Barbie doll up for auction. She has a heavy solid body, faded almost white. She has arched eyebrows and white irises, only seen on the #1 and #2 dolls. She is a #2 so she has no holes in her feet. While not mint, she is in very good to excellent condition.The doll has no missing fingers or toes and no swingy arms or legs. Her face paint is very good. Her brunette hair is in a ponytail with original poodle curl bangs and no missing plugs. The top and bottom rubber bands on the ponytail are present, so they must have been replaced. Barbie’s head, torso and limbs are faded to the same shade. She has red nails, in very good condition. She has been stored in a smoke free home.She is 65 years old, has been displayed in clothes for years, and is not perfect. She has a small pin dot size dark mark on her upper back, near the neck, and a small (1/4 inch long) cut on the backside of her right upper arm (see photos). Some small pieces of hair appear broken off (see photos). She has light mold marks on the hips (see photo). Her color is somewhat uneven, maybe stains from clothes or exposure to sunlight. There are other minor marks and scuffs. Review the pictures carefully Barbie is marked on the right side hip: BARBIE TM PATS PEND MCMIVIII BY MATTEL INC. This is a gorgeous nbsp;gorgeous brunette nbsp;vintage #2 Barbie. She has tm markings. Her facepaint is all original. She does not have any green ear, nose nip, neck splits or missing plugs. This is an original 1959 Mattel Barbie #1 Blonde Ponytail doll acquired from the original owner who has had her carefully stored for many decades. The doll is being sold together with all of the clothing items and accessories shown in the first photo. U.S. Sales OnlyThis wonderful collection was purchased by me in 1980 at an estate sale in a small town in rural Missouri. I have kept the pieces together since then, but now it's time to let it go.Everything is vintage original - no reproductions Lot includes 1960 #3 blonde ponytail Barbie doll, brunette 1961 #1 flocked Ken doll, the first 1963 Midge doll and a 1963 Fashion Queen Barbie with her three wigs, numerous outfits and accessories that have had very little, if any, play, and the majority of which are in clean, crispy near mint to mint condition. Also included are three fashion booklets, numerous plastic hangers, 2 vinyl cases and the four doll stands Description notes:1960 #3 Barbie has the harder to find blue eyeliner. The tip of her right brow was light and has been lightly touched up. She has a tiny scuff on the bridge of her nose (see photo #14), not really noticeable unless you're looking for it. There is a small brown spot in the vinyl on her left upper torso below the arm (see photo #16). Her legs have paled just a bit over the years but have never been replaced or exchanged. Her blonde ponytail is long, soft and full with no trims or missing plugs. All limbs are tight. No green or neck splits. Original b/w swimsuit, glasses and shoes.1961 1st Ken doll, nm, with flocked brunette hair. No rubs on his flocking. Original swim suit and sandals.1963 1st early Brunette Midge doll, nm. Has the googly eyes common to some of the earliest Midges, and a wide stance. The pink top of her original swimsuit is in fair condition with a run on the back and seam out around the bottom.1963 Fashion Queen Barbie nm with original turban and swimsuit. The teeth of the zipper on her swimsuit are off track and don't interlock, but the zipper goes up and down to connect at top and bottom.The two cases have average wear; tape has been added to the right side of the pink case.Numerous original Barbie and Ken clothing and accessories in crisp, clean, nm/mint condition. Most appear to have never been played with, and most outfits are complete or nearly so. Large numbers and variety of original shoes. Includes a few hard-to-find small pieces such as Ken's car keys, Ken's corsage in the plastic "case," Barbie's pearl drop necklace and her charm bracelet. From a non-smoking home. Lots of old Barbie, Skipper, Francie, Clone doll clothes, mod fashion doll clothes. Lots of shoes. Not all shoes have matches. These clothes aren’t in perfect shape. A lot need washed. Some need snaps put in. This set is sold as is. It’s very important to look carefully. These will all be in one box. I will protect the clothes so when opened you don’t cut the clothes. Shoes of course will be in bags. I took pictures of all the pieces. The last bag is a extra that I’m sending in case there’s a piece in the bag that needed for a set. Some of the clothes are hand made. I know Barbie collectors will be able to tell which ones are handmade by the pictures. Dolls. All dolls are in good shape and only need cleaned. One of the bubble cut dolls have a pinky missing on one hand. The rest have no missing pieces or rips. Each picture is different except for the Ken clothes. That’s a big pile and I didn’t have any photo room left for this listing. You may see duplicate items in the photos. I have several outfits that are the same. This is a huge lot of items. This rarity was only made for a year. That's why they are so hard to find. The Mink is tagged and the fur is fluffy and super nice! The inside of coat has original lining and is nice. No fur missing or any damage. It comes from our smoke free home. The last photo was taken out of doll fashion magazine. I don't have my doll anymore. So borrowing the photo.
