Vintage First Issue Barbie Mix-N-Match Gift Set #857 (1960) Blonde #4 Barbie VGC
Vintage First Issue Barbie Mix-N-Match Gift Set #857 (1960) Blonde #4 Barbie Complete Set This debut 1960 release of the #857 Mix-N-Match Gift Set includes the 850 blonde ponytail #4 Barbie doll with everything Barbie needs to make 70 different combinations of fabulous outfits. The Mix-N-Match Gift Set debuted in 1960 and was re-issued in 1962. Mattel swooned us in1960, releasing three incredible sets that year! They were the #856 Party Set, #857 Mix ‘n Match set, and the #858 Barbie Trousseau set (which was a double set). In 1960 and 1962 the outfits and partial outfits included in the #857 gift set are all from the 900 series ensembles: #919 Undergarments (bra, panties + slip I added), #963 Resort Set (jacket, shorts, t-shirt, hat) #976 Sweater Girl (orange sweater top, matching cardigan sweater, gray flannel skirt), #975 Winter Holiday (faux leather coat, striped hooded T-shirt, black knit pants,travel bag), #981 Busy Gal (red and white blouse), and #967 Picnic Set (jeans, red checked shirt). In 1963 a #861 Barbie Mix ‘n Match Gift Set was released with a Bubble Cut Barbie doll. Accessories in the original gift set were pearl stud earrings or gold hoop earrings (mine are faux diamond studs), sunglasses, crystal necklace (mine is faux bead), black wire stand, black open-toe heels and pink booklet with her picture on the front. The accessories are in the box with Barbie, see pics. That Barbie booklet is fragile, reads "Printed in Japan" on the back cover, and was the only one I had! It's the early one that has only Barbie's picture on the front cover. I have secured the outfit pieces in place on the original display cardboard. The outfits are all original with vintage labels intact, nice condition with no worn out elastic pieces. A few items did not have a label but are well recognized as Barbie original pieces. Her black heels are original although my pictures of her shoes failed to capture a readable "Japan" stamp. The Barbie I chose is the best one I have, not perfect but still so pretty with a solid good tight jointed body. She is secured in the center display box and I added a soft lining for her so her face does not rub against the wire stand. Her hair is secured to hold her ponytail close to her neck. The small marks on her back did not come off, but likely there is a way to remove what looks like ink or marker. Her butt marking is almost unreadable so I went thru a few steps to enhance the detail, see pics. I took tons of pictures of this Gift Set and worked very carefully to re-create the original as best I could. After all, it's a part of vintage Barbie doll history. The box itself, which doubles as a display box, has stood the test of time, it's not perfect but realistically, for it's age, it's quite remarkable. The outfits are the best of what I have. Everyone knows the orange sweater set always has holes in it. Please zoom in on all of the pieces. My orange sweater set is nice with a few flaws, not perfect, but the best of what I had. I sewed snaps back on a few pieces. I tied the pieces in place on the original cardboard and replaced the clear plastic. As mentioned above, the original box is not perfect and has minor wear but quite remarkable given its age. It is in very good condition, no rips or tears, see pics and zoom in. If you need perfect, please don't buy. Please review the description and pictures and ask any questions before making a decision to purchase. NO RETURNS. Vintage Barbie #1584 Jamie Furry Friends Gift Set 1970 Sears Exclusive HTF
I have for your consideration, the vintage Sears Exclusive “Walking Jamie” #1584. She doesn’t have the original outer box, but is still in the original, sealed inner box with plastic still intact. Please note that the dog food bowl has come loose from its plastic and is free inside the dog’s side of the tray. Also the doll stand is loose outside the box.The original Barbie booklet is present, but I am unsure if the original Jamie directions are there. They’re not visible.Walking Jamie looks just as she did on the shelf in 1970 with crisp, clean, make up and brown eyes that sets off her gorgeous blonde hair. Her dog is just as cute as he was when he was made, and still tied down to the box. He comes with his orange bowl with dog food and dog food box, and bone. Jamie has yellow panties under her yellow, orange, and pink sweater dress. She’s wearing bright orange boots and has a pair of pink pilgrim heels to change in to. Fireplace, furniture, entertainment center, drinks, snacks, games, candles detachable balloons, spiral staircase, bedroom, cool beaded window treatment, satin/fur blanket and pillows, pot of flowers, etc are included. Note: The table that is displaying the snacks and drinks isn’t included. Dolls are absolutely gorgeous! They have beautiful long hair and rooted lashes. They come with matching pets, original costumes, extra outfits, and interactive makeup, playbills, their own dvd of the movie, masks and more. After watching the movie with my sisters and grandmother we started collecting the dolls and sets until we had them all. The Mackenzie Rollerblade doll is pricey and hard to find at a reasonable price, so we purchased her, her dog, and outfits in separate auctions and added her last to complete our collection. Vintage NO. 4 Barbie Doll with 1961 Case, & 23 Detailed Original Outfits/Extras
eBay I used all my pictures of 24 to show these and a video. Need more, just let me know. This is one of the best No. 4 Barbie and her clothes for an original 1960 doll I have ever had the honor of offering for sell. This complete set of items had one child owner who valued and loved her with it showing with the great condition everything is in. Everything you see in the pictures and video is what comes together. Video shows the rest of the outfits not in pictures, inside of case, and the doll in more detail. Doll has no green on ears, no hair damage. Each picture has the complete outfit with the items it came with. Each outfit and items with it have each been verified as original Barbie marketed wardrobe items from a variety of Barbie books that had detailed color pictures. On the index card in each picture are the details and also lets you know if anything is missing or has a known flaw. A knife, scissors, and a few necklaces are mainly the things missing. Some of the necklaces or a bracket might show as missing, but is listed under another outfit...I reference them as "floaters" among the pictures if a necklace could complete another outfit. In one outfit the gloves are missing, but there is a pair in the accessory set. All the outfits are in good condition with the exception of one....the sweater outfit. The sweater has some holes as shown in the picture and the blouse has one in front. Skirt is good and all the extra things are with it still.These items are in great condition, but are over 60 years old. Things like elastic in the outfits has gotten aged on some. A few snap threading have started to become loose even though still in place. The Solo long gown sometimes has fabric dandruff from the fabric used to make it. The clothes are clean with good color, but some of the white items have become lightly soiled looking in appearance from age. These items with care could be cleaned as well as the elastic replaced with care. A choice only a new owner should make. The case is in good condition with normal aging. Most all cases that have been played with time start to get places where the card board lining shows at seams as shown in video. The color on this 1961 pony tail Barbie case is good. This case does not have a drawer in it like some to hold shoes, hats, etc...This No. 4 brunette Barbie is BEAUTIFUL! She came with hoop earrings. She has no fading on her body like the first Issued dolls 1 through 3. All her saran hair is soft including the bangs and original with no places missing. Hair looks to not have been combed on or original pony tail removed. Notice over wrap of original hair style at pony tail start. Nail polish is still on fingers and toes. She has the vintage markings on her hip with patent pending, roman numerals, and Mattel. All these markings are shown in detail in video. She has no body damage at joints. Very clean used doll so very well taken care of. In her baggie is her shoes, sunglasses, bottom of original stand and bathing suit with her. In each picture of her outfits, I have them with the name of the outfit and extra details. EVERY ITEM has been verified from Barbie book pictures. All zippers work, cardboard insert lining is still in the chef hat in the Barbie Q set it came with, Some index cards data of being tagged clothes was after the picture of the clothes were taken. All the outfits are the first outfits ever issued for Barbie when she came on the market. In the extra's photo with the hangers, there is an original Mattel map. Some of the items in that picture look to have been placed with all the original items just because they were loose from a later family member who had no idea what it went with, but were marked as Mattel items. All the bagged clothes come in the baggie as labeled for you just as they are separated out. These items have not been tampered with as repaired, no replacements from repaired, etc Everything is in original condition and original marketed pieces, NO reproductions. If you have reviewed all the pictures, read all the details, and still need to ask questions or for any extra pictures, please do. I have as much information as possible and details, but everyone has certain things that are important to just them as a collector. I offer an open book for asking for anything information wise or pictures. NO REFUND. Early on I lost one of the Pearl earrings and it had been replaced with a Pearl stick pin. There are more clothes than what are shown in the photos that will also come with her. Vintage lot of 3 Walking Jamie Barbie dolls in their original outfits, one blonde, one brunette and one titian, as well as 2 partial sets of the Furry Friends gift set and 1 partial set of the Strollin' In Style gift set. The brunette Jamie is wearing alternative yellow boots with her outfit. All 3 dolls are in very nice condition. Their knees all click at least twice. Their eyelashes are all thick and full.
