RARE 1959 Original Vintage #1 Brunette Ponytail Barbie Doll with clothes. This was my wife's 10th birthday present in 1959, and she has kept it lovingly ever since. This Barbie is in very good condition. She has the holes in her feet to hold her up in the included original stand (which has a cosmetic chip on the back side). The copyright marking is visible on her right buttock. Her right foot has the word JAPAN on the bottom.She has white irises and sharply arched eyebrows. All of her features are original. Her ponytail has never been taken down. This is the exact model shown on the Wikipedia page about the introduction of Barbie at the American International Toy Fair on March 9, 1959, Barbie's official birthday. Vintage Barbie Roman Holiday TM
eBay Up for bid is this stunning TM Barbie label; the original Roman Holiday outfit including its original brass compact with engraved B; year manufactured 1959, No. 968. This is an ultra rare opportunity to acquire this part of Barbie history for your collection. This outfit is considered the "Holy Grail" of Barbie collecting and the complete TM version is an even rarer find in this condition!The little brass compact is about 10.5 mm or 3/8" across and has the engraved "B" on it's cover. It is fully functional with the hinge intact. The little pink puff is missing however. The compact is so hard to find because years ago many of these little items were thrown out or swept up in mom's vacuum cleaner!! The outfit includes the dress and belt with a matching red and white ribbed coat with red half lining and gold buttoned front and in back pocket fronts with gold buttons. The Barbie Tag on coat is the original TM version. Incredible collection of 400 Barbie dolls. All Barbies are in their original boxes and in brand-new condition. On some boxes (about 20-30), the plastic protective part has cracked, and a few boxes are slightly dented, but the dolls inside are new. In some boxes, a few accessories might be missing (e.g., a shoe or a comb). I will provide additional photos upon request.The item has never been taken out of the box as far as I know, I bought this years ago from someone, but since I'm not the original ownerAs I mentioned it has never been played with. 1960 Vintage #3 Blond Ponytail Barbie, Brown Eyeliner, w/Extras, Original Owner
My treasure is your great find with this early Mattel number 3 Barbie!This all original vintage #3 Blond Ponytail Barbie with blue eyes and brown eyeliner has been safely stored for more than 60 years. I am the original owner. As a child, I was very careful with my Barbie and she is in excellent vintage condition. She was gently handled and well cared for. Always in a smoke free home. She comes with the original zebra striped bathing suit, black mules and white sunglasses which are missing one arm. Although Barbie is the real find here... she also comes with eleven outfits and the storage trunk box she has rested in for decades. Most of the clothes are in excellent condition but missing a few accessories as you can see in the photos. There are also some rare items like a blue bubble dress and Barbie's tiny vinyl record, titled, "No Thank You."Her face paint, lipstick, delicate cheek blush, nail polish, and toenail polish are all 100% original with no touch ups, rubs, or missing paint! Her soft shiny hair is beautiful with poodle bangs and the original top knot. The original hair band on her pony tail broke while I was photographing her so I replaced it. She has all of her original hair with no missing plugs or cut pieces.She has JAPAN lengthwise on the bottom of her right foot. And an "O" is slightly visible on her other foot where I wrote my initial. She has some discoloration on one foot from the shoe.Her solid body is clean. She has all her fingers and toes. Her neck and torso have faded slightly to a lighter ivory color. The Mattel marking is clear on her tush but she has some discoloration on her right cheek. (See photo)Her left leg doesn't move and I didn't want to force it. But her right leg, arms and head move as they should with tight joints. She has a tiny pin point speck of green behind each earing which is barely visible. (See photo)Barbie's clothing outfits are all original from about 1960 and include the Nighty Negligee, Sweater Girl, Suburban Shopper, Registered Nurse, Resort Set, Picnic Set, Golden Girl, Peachy-Fleece Coat, Plantation Bell, American Airlines Stewardess and Solo in the Spotlight.
