My aunt owned a paint store in 1959 when I was 10 years old. She also sold toys in a special section upstairs and my sister and I looked forward every year to visiting her shop and picking out things we wanted to put on our Christmas list. My birthday is in November, and the year I turned 10, she gave me one of the first Mattel Barbies made in Japan. I thought Barbie wasn’t very pretty, but I loved her clothes. She is long gone, but her outfits are alive and in excellent condition, as I became obsessed with her clothes. I would not let anyone touch my Barbie, and on every Birthday and Christmas until I became a teen, all I asked for were Barbie outfits. She had more clothes than I ever dreamed of having. Now I am 73 years old and have 2 beautiful granddaughters and 7 great nieces who love Barbie too. I would love to leave this cherished collection to my granddaughters or a great nieces, but none of them would ever value these items as I did. They would end up lost, tossed aside or in the trash. So, as much as it breaks my heart to sell these items, I feel selling them can benefit my education in the future. A few pieces were missing, like an earring or glove, but replaced by me. Vtg 60's Barbie - American Girl Ponytails Francie Bubblecut Midge +32 Outfits
Offering for your consideration is a wonderful, very large vintage collection of Barbie, Francie and Midge dolls. There is an American Girl, two ponytails (I think a #5 and #6), an early Bubble Cut, Francie and Midge dolls. I'm including 26 vintage Barbie outfits and six vintage Francie doll outfits. A total of 22 of the 32 outfits are complete and there are NO reproductions in this auction!Please note: I purchased this lot in 2013 from two sisters who are lifelong friends of mine. Everything has been played with, however the items have always been very well taken care of and loved. I'll give a complete description below. I know it is very long, but I think when you buy an auction, the more you know the better it is, and I want you to be really happy with your purchase! So grab your favorite beverage and enjoy the pictures and description. Thank you.Doll DescriptionsSummary - All of the dolls have no green ear! The American Girl, Francie and Midge don't even have earring holes. All dolls have blonde hair in various shades. There are NO neck splits, missing fingers or toes, and NO nose nips or damage to eyelash ridges. They are very clean, no musty or smoking odors. Each doll will have her correct swimsuit and heels when she arrives.American Girl - very nice condition. Great hair and makeup is still good, lip color is peachy. Body markings are correct. Knees click three times and and hold three times. Nail polish is very good, there is some missing. Does not look like she ever had toe polish. Right leg has a very small space between leg and body. Left leg has two tiny indents on the calf. Please see picture, it is the one with Francie's mark on her thigh.First Ponytail - Original topknot, I can barely see rubber band, it has almost disappeared. She has pretty hair, it is not braided, she does have some flyaways. Lower rubber band missing. I think she is a #5, has Barbie only body. Winning bidder may prefer to have this dolls face paint restored as it is faded or gone completely and paint is missing on one eye. She is the oldest doll in collection also. Nail polish is still good, toe polish is missing on a few of her toes. Right arm is swingy when down, will hold a pose however. Right ankle turns in a tiny bit.Second Ponytail - Original topknot, rubber band on top knot is mostly gone. Great looking bangs, ponytail is braided, some flyaways. No lower rubber band, I added the ribbon. Not sure if braid is factory. I'm pretty sure she is a #6, has Midge - Barbie body. Face paint is pretty, faded on lips and eyebrows. Super tiny dot on chin, this is hard to see. Nail polish is good, I see no toe polish. Right leg is a tad shorter. Right foot has super tiny mark on side of little toe. Nice body.Francie - Excellent doll. Has eyelashes, very pretty face, straight waist. Hair is pretty, long, with a nice curl. Knees click times three, hold times two. Correct markings on bottom. I don't think she ever had nail or toe polish. Tiny blue mark on side of left thigh (please see picture). I can see the beginning of a faint split on the top of her left foot too.Bubble Cut - Excellent condition, Barbie only body. Very pretty hair, her makeup is super nice, her lips are fab! Slightly greasy face. Nail polish is faint, I see no toe polish. Great body, slight swing to right arm when down.Midge - Excellent condition, has Midge - Barbie body. Pretty face paint, hair is curled, few flyaways. Both her nail and toe polish is very good.OutfitsSummary- I've shown the dolls wearing some of the outfits and tried to show all outfits in the pictures. All the zippers work and are YKK. The snaps are present. One side of the snap is coming off the Plantation Belle slip. Most Barbie R tags are present, some are frayed. Note: There is no tag on the Dancing Doll dress, however I'm sure it is vintage. There are NO seam tears, hems coming out, or major stains. Some of the white material in the clothes is a little cream colored. I'll list the complete outfits first, and any issues I'll point out as best I can on all the outfits. If you have questions, please email. If the outfit has open toe heels, they are marked Japan on the left, no splits on any. The outfits with the cork wedgies have them too. Closed toe heels are included if the outfit is supposed to have them, unless I state otherwise.There are three pictures where I have tried to show the issues that I'll point out in the descriptions below. NOTE: I consider the majority of these items to be in Excellent or better condition! Busy Gal - includes VHTF Navy Blue Open Toe heels. This outfit is in Excellent Condition.3. Career Girl - beautiful condition, hat is cool!4. Club Meeting - Looks unplayed with!5. Dancing Doll - no tag on dress. Everything is in wonderful condition!6. Dinner at Eight - Beautiful condition. Both cork sandals have splits on their bottom, but the splits are hard to see.7. Friday Night Date - Very pretty classic Barbie outfit, HTF straws are included8. Garden Party - still very pretty.9. Lunchtime - there were no shoes with this outfit. HTF Tea kettle works, so does toaster. Toast is here too! Pans and toaster have a few light marks/rubs. The belt has a small indent hear the end, but no hole.10. Movie Date - great condition.11. Open Road - This was a favorite outfit of the sisters. No toggles on coat. Red chiffon on scarf has several small holes and a very tiny stain on brim. HTF wedgies are in great shape, however there is glue on one of the cork sandals where the strap was repaired. (Please see pictures)12. Peachy Fleecy - In great condition. There is hardly any of the feather left on the hat.13. Plantation Belle - this was a favorite outfit too. There is no jewelry. Slip has frayed ribbon and snap hanging by a thread. Hat has one band that is bent.14. Picnic Set - HTF fish is not cracked, has a couple of minor rubs on each side. Fishing pole has line and sinker. Will display well! The hat is so fun! Cork wedgies are awesome. Favorite outfit!15. Resort Set - Great condition, has the original HTF bracelet. Cork wedgies are very nice.16. Senior Prom - The gown is in Excellent condition. No pearls on shoes. Please see picture17. Sheath with Gold Buttons, RUST color with mini white dots. Super condition.18. Spectator Sport - has VHTF belt! Has gold dimpled purse and I'm including the VHTF striped knit purse and Mustard Color Open Toe heels.19. Suburban Shopper - has original HTF drop pearl necklace. One of the fruits in the purse is split, just a little on top, not the entire piece of fruit. Hat bands are a bit bent. Super classic vintage Barbie outfit.20. Theatre Date - no hat version21. Winter Holiday - jacket is still soft and flexible. Has super HTF belt. Cork wedgies are awesome!Incomplete Barbie Outfits1. Crisp 'n Cool - no gloves2. Registered Nurse - Everything here is in excellent + condition. Includes VHTF Medicine Bottle and Spoon. No hot water bottle.3. Lame Sheath - has gold dimpled purse, no navy blue shoes.4. Sorority Meeting - Original Graduated pearl necklace included (see picture). Outfit in super condition. There are very small holes on left and right side of sweater near the front shoulders. 1961 Barbie Doll w/ Box. RARE Mattel Brunette Bubble Cut Model #850 +12 Outfits
Vintage 1961 Mattel Barbie Doll Model #850 Brunette Bubble Cut with original box, metal wire stand, earrings, white sunglasses with gold glitter, black/white zebra bathing suit, black shoes (one marked Japan), and pink booklet. All items are original. Barbie, PATS PEND MCMLVIII by Mattel on right buttock. Beautiful turquoise eyes and red lipstick. No green ear. Hair is raven black (brunette) with tight bubble cut, red fingernail and toenail polish. Polish and lipstick in great condition and highly visible. Shows no signs of wear. Please see picture #3. Original shoes have Japan on the bottom of one shoe. Box has blue/white suburban shopper outfit on upper left side and Brunette Bubble Cut #850 label pasted on bottom of box. Box shows gentle wear and bottom right corner is split. Please see picture #2.Original owner of the doll and all of the following outfits and accessories. Doll is in excellent condition. Gently played with and well taken care of.Friday Night Date: #979. 1960 - 1964. Original vintage outfit includes: White pinafore, blue corduroy jumper, black heels, 2 plastic coke tumblers with black Barbie serving tray and drinking straws. Blue jumper has light stains on the back. All felt appliques and snaps on jumper and pinafore are present and work. Black tray, glasses and straws in great condition and show minimal wear. Original vintage outfit includes: Tennis dress, jacket, racket, socks, blue sunglasses, 2 balls, white tennis type shoes and tennis rules book. White tennis dress doesn’t have any holes and zipper works. Some yellowing due to age/storage. Jacket has orange colored ribbing and is lightly soiled on front and back due to gently play. Some very light orange bleeding has occurred on the back of the jacket. Socks, sunglasses, balls, tennis shoes, racket and tennis rules book are in great shape. Bottom of shoes are both marked Japan. Please see 5th picture.Busy Morning: #956. 1963 (Only sold for one year). Original vintage outfit includes: Pink/white dress with phone, pearl necklace, shoes, hat and handbag. No holes in dress and zipper works. Hat ribbon in great condition. Phone cord attached and white shoes (one marked Japan) are in excellent condition. Necklace is intact and features a strand of faux pearls. Handbag closure works and handle with fruit pieces present and intact. Dress has stain on left breast area. Original vintage set includes: Red/White jacket. blue/white sleeveless jersey knit top, white shorts, white sunhat, white strap cork wedge shoes and metal charm bracelet. Original vintage outfit includes: Pink sheer full-length gown and matching sheer robe with pocket. Stuffed felt dog and pink shoes with pompom. Enchanted Evening: #983. 1960 - 1963. Original vintage outfit includes: Pink gown with train accented with a rose, white stole, white long gloves, drop faux pearl earrings, 3 strand faux pearl necklace, clear shoes. All clothing pieces in excellent shape with no holes. Drop earrings are good and intact. Necklace has come apart and needs restringing. Shoes (one marked Japan) have good glitter on heels and across toe band. Please see 9th picture.Open Road: #985. 1961 – 1962. Original vintage outfit includes: Jacket, sweater, pants, hat, red sunglasses, red strap cork wedge shoes, and map. Jacket has all brown buttons but missing the top toggle and is lightly soiled. Tan sweater is in great condition with all three snaps and no holes. Pants are great with working zipper and no holes. Straw hat has no holes in red band that ties under her chin but some fraying around the straw brim is noted. Red sunglasses are great with working hinges and red strap cork wedge shoes are great with no issues. Map has been torn and only piece remains. Please see 10th picture. American Airline Flight Stewardess: #984. 1961 - 1964. Original vintage outfit includes: White blouse, navy skirt and jacket, black over the shoulder handbag, American Airlines travel bag and navy hat. White blouse has 3 tiny buttons and a working snap. Jacket has 4 tiny buttons, a working snap and a wings insignia on left front. Skirt is straight with working snap. Hat with an AA insignia on the front is in great condition with 2 prongs, so it stays in her hair. Black handbag and travel bag are excellent with working zipper on travel bag. Cardboard gold colored talc box has been bent but writing on top is vivid and shows minimal wear. Set is missing comb and brush. Blue terry towel is plain, and the word "Her's" is not present. She is in excellent plus condition, missing some lashes in right eye and pretty pink, original lips, Body ECBlonde Bubblecut in NM-M Picnic Set, perfect fish no grip, lips need RTB/K Skipper comes wearing a very nice ballerina costume, missing headband and run in leotard. Body is excellent plus both knees hold all poses. HUGE Vtg Lot 1960's Barbie & Ken Mattel w clothes shoes accessories, case Lot
Beautiful first edition 1961? Barbie bubble cut w/Barbie (R) on her bum, brunette with bubble gum pink lips, pale fingernails and dark turquoise eyes (more indicative of 2nd edition, transitional?) with small neck bob. She is in excellent condition, with a little rub on her lips, with a very light mark on her shin, hardly noticeable, and a little rubbing on her toe nail polish. Barbie has no green ear, no dark or greasy face and no splits. She does have a few pin pricks by her right ear (shown in last two images). Ken is also a first edition in excellent condition, as well. Looks like some tiny fingernails scuffed off some hair and he has a dark spot on his lower calf. Ken has a pretty expression and great color on his face and a small flaw on his one eyebrow (looks like he came that way!).This is a large lot of clothes and accessories in good to excellent used condition. Please refer to photos as they are part of the description. Almost all items are originals that are white/black tagged (*with the exception of the black cat eyed glasses and microphone which are a licensed reproductions that I included just for fun) made in Japan. ****Vintage BARBIE Clothes & HUGE Shoe & Accessory Lot, Case & Suzie Goose Wardrobe**** Up for auction is a Vintage BARBIE Clothes & HUGE Shoe & Accessory Lot, Case & Suzie Goose Wardrobe. The first thing I'd like to say about this lot is that it is unique in that the clothes received little playtime and there are a ton of shoes, but that the Sweater Girl cardigan and shell, as well as the Sorority Meeting vest have absolutely no holes whatsoever! Also, the PAK pale blue shawl sweater - also no holes. The Mood for Music light blue velvet slacks have no wear, other than a slight indentation from having been hanging in a Suzie Goose clothing Hanger. In addition, both the red Open Road and Mood for Music gold wedges are totally intact. No splits in cork, no reglues and the red plastic and gold metallic top straps of the shoes are secure. Quite shocking as I've so rarely encountered this condition over the past 20 years of collecting. None of the OT Japan heels have splits and are in excellent shape. As stated the clothing has little playwear and retain all buttons and snaps. All are in very good to excellent condition. Due to age and storage in case and hangers, nothing is what I'd consider mint or near mint. The Weddind Day Set is near complete and missing only long white gloves. The dress has no holes in crinoline layers or satin dress. There is a tear in crinoline at the top, upper back shoulder on one side only, and a small amount of crinoline is missing. The crinoline is somewhat wrinkled from storage. The veil is in excellent condition and has no holes or tears. The Busy Gal visor and belt have hardened a bit. There are 2 sketches inside the navy blue portfolio, not 3. The zebra swimsuit has retained the elastic bra cup, and the white stripe has not aged or yellowed. Please take a good look at the many photos I have included. I have not described everything, just the items that have a flaw or were exceptional for their age. The Suzie Goose armoire has age and storage wear and possibly some play wear on back. The Suzie Goose Accessory drawer is in very good condition, with no marks, stains or cracks. Perfect for shoe and accessory storage. The black ponytail case is in good shape, but the clasp has oxidized. Handles are intact, as are accessory holders inside. Inside top of case has some mild bubbling in vinyl, but all in all, a good, solid case. Please ask questions prior to auction end!! Everything is sold as is. All sales are final. Vintage Barbie 1960s Lot W Ken, Dolls, Case, Many Original Outfits, Accessories!
eBay Fantastic collection with so many accessories that are often hard to find! Dolls are in great shape, no green ear or neck splits. They are clean with a good stance. Barbie is all original with only some fading on her pink lipstick. Hangers and suitcases are included. All clothes are in good condition, clean and ready for display. Any flaws, I have found are shown in the last pic or described here. The orange jumpsuit for Dinner at eight has a small hole in one pant leg, but is covered by the outer dress. The Peach Fleecy coat has two small brown stains on the right side, one on the collar, which is hidden by a small magnetic brooch (cute solution!) and one just inside which doesn’t show when worn. Rest of the coat is very clean and displays well. The red shift dress is suberb! Great color and you can still feel the sizing in it. So clothes are played with but still good as seen in pics. Case has a few splits and some rusting but still looking good and useful for its age! Majority of clothes are Mattel with a few homemade pieces or clone. Ken’s corduroy plaid suit is very well made, does show wear on one cuff and sleeve. I expected to find a tag but there wasn’t one, so maybe just a talented seamstress? There is a black vest which matches, needs a snap. The yacht club outfit is one of the best I’ve seen as far as the coloring being bright and matching the pants. The baseball cap and chefs hat lettering had faded or rubbed as pictured. The red tassel belt on gold Pak dress appears to a replacement. The labels are missing on Ken’s yacht jacket and open road coat. Coat has some wear. One button is missing on the baseball shirt. Not all outfits are complete but are shown with accessories included. Nurses spoon is not original but rest of the outfit is. Shoes are Japan (not sure on blue and gold wedges ) and not split or cracked. White wedges have a few spots on top. There are some newer display items also, just for fun! I do not know the history of all the jewelry. The pearl necklace appears genuine but small ring on one side of closure is newer, so may have been replaced at one time. Rest is clone or handmade. Don’t know about the safety of earrings so wouldn’t leave in while storing. Bath sponge has been replaced on the end but handle is original. I always wrap purchases carefully and always try to ship the next business day after payment. Shipping only in the continental US. Non smoking home and I do try to inspect all items for odors or flaws, but can’t’t say I can’t say I won’t miss something. We do have dogs which are kept away from the Barbies and I run a tape roller over before packing hoping to catch any stray hairs out there. Biggest problem I’ve had lately is stray glitter flecks from my grandbabies making me Christmas ornaments! You can find that everywhere ?, but again, I do use the tape. Dress forms and other display items are not included. I haven’t been selling lately due to illness in the family but eager to start again. Have too much stuff! Vintage 1979 Mattel Barbie Dream House A-Frame + Barbie Spa + Furniture
eBay ?? Vintage 1979 Barbie Dream House. Flowers are still growing in the window boxes! ??? So many windows to let in alllll the natural light. Obviously not a house made for the Midwest because it has holes in the roof ???, and one little gust of wind ?would knock Barbie right off her tiny little imbalanced feet. Missing half the front door, because Barbie's house is the place to party ?? , so the door's always open! Several of the fragile plastic column covers show significant damage (probably the result of one of those parties), but they can be completely removed without affecting the structure. A pint-sized human took some artistic liberties with a Sharpie (40 years ago!) - probably the same pint-sized human that took artistic liberties on the forehead of one of my Barbies. Because you KNOW Barbie's house is always to place to be, this house comes furnished with a living room set AND extra seating for the den! You'll need a small child to be the channel changer for you. ? In the kitchen you'll find a fully-stocked fridge and a tuna casserole baking in the PYREX in the oven to make up for the missing fridge doors. ? (The casserole should be done by now - it's been in there for about 40 years - almost as long as Sharon's Thanksgiving pie.) There is also a dining set at which to enjoy your casserole ??, although one guest will need to sit on the floor, as the chair legs seemed to have run off with the front doors! ?Other furniture includes a bedroom set (the mattress is, shall we say, FIRM - must be the key to Barbie's beauty sleep!?) and a swivel mirror and hamper to help her determine which outfit screams "confident" as she takes on the day! Outdoor furniture includes a lounge chair and service cart ??for those long afternoons of basking in the sun and never even once getting burned! ??? Also included (but not shown here) are a grill ? and cooler, for taking the party on the road. And last, but not least, this house comes with a pampering SPA.?? If you add soap to the dispenser then push the pump, Barbie will have her own BUBBLE BATH! ? Who doesn't need that after a night of entertaining a house full of guests?!
