Vtg 60's Barbie - American Girl Ponytails Francie Bubblecut Midge +32 Outfits
Offering for your consideration is a wonderful, very large vintage collection of Barbie, Francie and Midge dolls. There is an American Girl, two ponytails (I think a #5 and #6), an early Bubble Cut, Francie and Midge dolls. I'm including 26 vintage Barbie outfits and six vintage Francie doll outfits. A total of 22 of the 32 outfits are complete and there are NO reproductions in this auction!Please note: I purchased this lot in 2013 from two sisters who are lifelong friends of mine. Everything has been played with, however the items have always been very well taken care of and loved. I'll give a complete description below. I know it is very long, but I think when you buy an auction, the more you know the better it is, and I want you to be really happy with your purchase! So grab your favorite beverage and enjoy the pictures and description. Thank you.Doll DescriptionsSummary - All of the dolls have no green ear! The American Girl, Francie and Midge don't even have earring holes. All dolls have blonde hair in various shades. There are NO neck splits, missing fingers or toes, and NO nose nips or damage to eyelash ridges. They are very clean, no musty or smoking odors. Each doll will have her correct swimsuit and heels when she arrives.American Girl - very nice condition. Great hair and makeup is still good, lip color is peachy. Body markings are correct. Knees click three times and and hold three times. Nail polish is very good, there is some missing. Does not look like she ever had toe polish. Right leg has a very small space between leg and body. Left leg has two tiny indents on the calf. Please see picture, it is the one with Francie's mark on her thigh.First Ponytail - Original topknot, I can barely see rubber band, it has almost disappeared. She has pretty hair, it is not braided, she does have some flyaways. Lower rubber band missing. I think she is a #5, has Barbie only body. Winning bidder may prefer to have this dolls face paint restored as it is faded or gone completely and paint is missing on one eye. She is the oldest doll in collection also. Nail polish is still good, toe polish is missing on a few of her toes. Right arm is swingy when down, will hold a pose however. Right ankle turns in a tiny bit.Second Ponytail - Original topknot, rubber band on top knot is mostly gone. Great looking bangs, ponytail is braided, some flyaways. No lower rubber band, I added the ribbon. Not sure if braid is factory. I'm pretty sure she is a #6, has Midge - Barbie body. Face paint is pretty, faded on lips and eyebrows. Super tiny dot on chin, this is hard to see. Nail polish is good, I see no toe polish. Right leg is a tad shorter. Right foot has super tiny mark on side of little toe. Nice body.Francie - Excellent doll. Has eyelashes, very pretty face, straight waist. Hair is pretty, long, with a nice curl. Knees click times three, hold times two. Correct markings on bottom. I don't think she ever had nail or toe polish. Tiny blue mark on side of left thigh (please see picture). I can see the beginning of a faint split on the top of her left foot too.Bubble Cut - Excellent condition, Barbie only body. Very pretty hair, her makeup is super nice, her lips are fab! Slightly greasy face. Nail polish is faint, I see no toe polish. Great body, slight swing to right arm when down.Midge - Excellent condition, has Midge - Barbie body. Pretty face paint, hair is curled, few flyaways. Both her nail and toe polish is very good.OutfitsSummary- I've shown the dolls wearing some of the outfits and tried to show all outfits in the pictures. All the zippers work and are YKK. The snaps are present. One side of the snap is coming off the Plantation Belle slip. Most Barbie R tags are present, some are frayed. Note: There is no tag on the Dancing Doll dress, however I'm sure it is vintage. There are NO seam tears, hems coming out, or major stains. Some of the white material in the clothes is a little cream colored. I'll list the complete outfits first, and any issues I'll point out as best I can on all the outfits. If you have questions, please email. If the outfit has open toe heels, they are marked Japan on the left, no splits on any. The outfits with the cork wedgies have them too. Closed toe heels are included if the outfit is supposed to have them, unless I state otherwise.There are three pictures where I have tried to show the issues that I'll point out in the descriptions below. NOTE: I consider the majority of these items to be in Excellent or better condition! There are some HTF or VHTF accessories included in this auction and I've also included a picture of some of these items.Complete Outfits -1. American Airline Stewardess - Excellent+ condition.2. Busy Gal - includes VHTF Navy Blue Open Toe heels. This outfit is in Excellent Condition.3. Career Girl - beautiful condition, hat is cool!4. Club Meeting - Looks unplayed with!5. Dancing Doll - no tag on dress. Everything is in wonderful condition!6. Dinner at Eight - Beautiful condition. Both cork sandals have splits on their bottom, but the splits are hard to see.7. Friday Night Date - Very pretty classic Barbie outfit, HTF straws are included8. Garden Party - still very pretty.9. Lunchtime - there were no shoes with this outfit. HTF Tea kettle works, so does toaster. Toast is here too! Pans and toaster have a few light marks/rubs. The belt has a small indent hear the end, but no hole.10. Movie Date - great condition.11. Open Road - This was a favorite outfit of the sisters. No toggles on coat. Red chiffon on scarf has several small holes and a very tiny stain on brim. HTF wedgies are in great shape, however there is glue on one of the cork sandals where the strap was repaired. (Please see pictures)12. Peachy Fleecy - In great condition. There is hardly any of the feather left on the hat.13. Plantation Belle - this was a favorite outfit too. There is no jewelry. Slip has frayed ribbon and snap hanging by a thread. Hat has one band that is bent.14. Picnic Set - HTF fish is not cracked, has a couple of minor rubs on each side. Fishing pole has line and sinker. Will display well! The hat is so fun! Cork wedgies are awesome. Favorite outfit!15. Resort Set - Great condition, has the original HTF bracelet. Cork wedgies are very nice.16. Senior Prom - The gown is in Excellent condition. No pearls on shoes. Please see picture17. Sheath with Gold Buttons, RUST color with mini white dots. Super condition.18. Spectator Sport - has VHTF belt! Has gold dimpled purse and I'm including the VHTF striped knit purse and Mustard Color Open Toe heels.19. Suburban Shopper - has original HTF drop pearl necklace. One of the fruits in the purse is split, just a little on top, not the entire piece of fruit. Hat bands are a bit bent. Super classic vintage Barbie outfit.20. Theatre Date - no hat version21. Winter Holiday - jacket is still soft and flexible. Has super HTF belt. Cork wedgies are awesome!Incomplete Barbie Outfits1. Crisp 'n Cool - no gloves2. Sorority Meeting - Original Graduated pearl necklace included (see picture). Outfit in super condition. There are very small holes on left and right side of sweater near the front shoulders. They are fairly hard to see! I'm sure these were made by doll fingers. No earrings.5. Swingin' Easy - Beautiful condition, sash is a forest green color. No drop pearl necklace. Clam Diggers - no shoes or glasses. One gold button on jacket has lost color.2. First Formal - no shoes. Bodice of gown has tiny pinhead size hole. (Please see picture)3. 60s vintage #5 Barbie + 3 dolls, 27 outfits 144 original Mattel items and more
eBay Barbie's unusual marking: This bubblecut Barbie has had one owner (me). The markings say 84 Barbie (R) Patent Pending by Mattel. The body is tan and solid, indicating it is likely a #4 ponytail body with a bubblecut head, something that appeared to happen as styles transitioned. The earrings have bled as is common with original Barbies. There are numerous videos on YouTube offering de-staining solutions. Barbie comes with her original red suit, cork-heeled white sandals.Midge, Skipper and Scooter. The condition of these dolls is very good. Like Barbie. they are wearing their just from the box outfits. Scooter and Midge both come with their original boxes, Skipper has her original stand and comb.About the clothes. This collection has 27 outfits documented in 12 Barbie brochures which, as far as I can tell, include many from 1963 and earlier (Barbie). Later additions include costume items (Guinevere, Little Red Riding Hood) + Skipper outfits Brochures include one for Allan.What makes this collection unique is the number of accessories that go with the clothes--the yo-yo with Skipper's blue sweater/slack set, the nylons with Barbie's skater outfit, the tray and drinks with her Date Night dress, the green shoes with her prom dress, the red mittens and plaid bag with her Winter Holiday outfit. Most of the outfits are in very good condition and come with nearly all the accessories listed in the brochure (there is no alarm clock w/ Barbie's PJs).One dress needs a seam resewn (the Corning Ware dress), Skipper's Flower Girl outfit could use a wash. On the whole, the collection has stood the test of time with grace.144+ ORIGiNAL MATTEL ITEMS ARE INCLUDED IN THIS LOT. Up for auction is the most incredible lot of early 1960’sBarbie dolls and clothing. I purchased 2 collections: one small featuring theash hair barbie, skipper and Malibu Barbie and one large featuring an original1962 wardrobe case filled to the brim with outfits galore, many are pristineand complete.I will do my very best to answer any questions you may have.I am not a collector myself but used to babysit for a lady who worked at Mattelfor years as a designer, so I know how special a set like this is.I did my best to go through the wardrobe and individually bageach outfit. HUGE VINTAGE BARBIE LOT 2 BARBIES, 30 Outfits & Accessories Nice CASE EUC!
This lot is loaded! Two great Barbie’s, perfectly representative of the great glory days of the sixties. Both dolls are in very good played with condition with no major flaws. No green ear and tight limbs. They are all original. Fashion queen has a few rubs on her hair paint and both are very clean with only a few light scratches on the bodies. Not really noticeable. And the clothes, lots of clothes! All clothes are vintage, with working snaps, zippers etc. They are clean, no major stains, all can be displaced nicely. The small flaws I found are shown on last pic. They are all played with and range from very good condition to more used. I’ll try to point out what I feel you should know if pics are not showing. Over 30 outfits, 20 of original Mattel, plus lingerie, shoes, boots, jewelry, luggage and purses. Most accessories are Mattel but there are clone and some homemade items. I tried to document any problems but with a lot this size may have missed something but not any major issues. The Orange Blossom outfit, all the Pak , ballet outfit excellent. The ballet crown is a homemade replacement. The Garden Party dress and lace cover are very delicate and show more wear. There are a few mends on the lace under the arms. The green prom dress is clean, displays well but there are a few small holes on the dress under the tulle where it doesn’t show. If I had the right color thread, I would have mended. The fashion editor dress appears to have some water stains on the hem that perhaps someone can get out. Please see last pic where I tried to show any flaws. The Hawaiian outfit is very nice, still fits beautifully and grass skirt stays on. The homemade outfits are very well done and in excellent condition. No collection is complete without a few of these. The pak black slacks can be worn with the pink sweater and jacket. Black slacks can also go with the green felt jacket. Lots of choices! The case is really nice, handle and drawers are intact and clasp works with minimal rusting. There is a small tear in vinyl inside upper top in the corner. Vintage 1960s Barbie Francie Clothing Lot Of 300+ Shoes Purse Rare Acessories
Overall great vintage condition . I try my best to disclose all flaws. Huge lot of over 300 pieces of Barbie clothing and a variety of accessories -- TV, Radio, pencil, wash rag and soap pair of Diamond and Emerald look stud earings. Phones, shoes, boots, roller Skates, Ice Skates two rare colors, hangers, etc. Most of the clothing has Barbie labels in them and is for Barbies, maybe one or two of Ken's things, One for GI Joe, a fantastic Vintage Sears exclusive 1967 Prom Pinks for Francie along with a couple other items my research tells me. There are a few doll clothes I do not know. There is about 10 pieces that is not for Barbie. The first two pictures come from the 1959-1964 900 Fashion Series. I wrapped them separately or in twos or threes so that you would not have to go through the hunt on what goes with what. I did my best. A few of the clothes have tears or holes or stains, but not many. They have not been cleaned, but look clean. They have been packed away a long time and have the vintage smell, and some are wrinkled. There are also about 2 hand knitted items. I'm not sure if they would be for Barbie or Francie. Many many shoes with Japan but Some of the shoes are singles. Pleas check the pictures as I am not an expert. The last picture is a picture of the worst that is the bunch. Not many. This listing is for a MOST RARE very hard to find version of the Vintage 1965 Barbie Doll Gown / Dress for the #1614 Junior Prom outfit. It is made from a thicker fabric, not the chiffon fabric. It might be a one of a kind prototype, I couldn't find any information on this version of the dress. It is in mint condition, never played with, clean and crisp, no holes or tears. Vintage 5 BARBIE LOT Redhead Ponytail Bubble FQ Wigs ALLAN KEN TM Clothing BIN
Here's a fun group of 5 vintage played with Barbie & family dolls; with lots of tagged clothing to display! These dolls have all been played with and have some minor play/wear issues, but as you can see, they still have good looks and charm! They will look cute on display, but they're not for "Mint" collectors. None of the dolls have nose nips, or neck splits; all of them have all their fingers and toes, and their limbs hold poses well. No green ear stains on the ponytail or bubble, only small dots of green on the Fashion Queen which are covered by safe pearl earrings. The #5 Redhead Ponytail Barbie has a beautiful face with retouched lips & a thin ponytail that might have a slight trim. This big lot includes a vintage 1961 #5 Redhead Ponytail Barbie, a 1963 Brunette Bubblecut Barbie, a Fashion Queen with 3 wigs, a Straight Leg Flocked Hair Brunette Ken, and a straight leg Allan doll, all ready to travel in a double size black 1961 Solo in the Spotlight doll vinyl trunk! These dolls will look great displaying your favorite vintage fashions. A lot of the tagged clothing needs cleaning and/or repairs, but I think the clothing is worth fixing. If you have a question that my description hasn't answered, please ask me:)The dolls have been wiped down & are pretty clean, but you may want to do a more detailed cleaning.Please note that I accept returns only if the items are returned in the original, unaltered condition.Starting on the left in the main pic:1961 #5 Redhead Ponytail Barbie: #5 Titian Ponytail dolls are one my favorite versions of Barbie, as they have such intense eyes and lips, and the early darker version auburn hair is so beautiful! This pretty girl has a matte, non-greasy complexion with original brows that have faded, and since she had some rubs to her red lips, they have been retouched. She has some original smokey eyeshadow, and the darker eye color seen in the 1961 dolls. No green ears, nose nips or neck splits. She has thick bangs, but her hair has been taken out of the original topknot, and the ponytail is braided, which you might want to redo. Her ponytail is thin, and it might be trimmed a little, see pics #5 & #24. I don't see any missing hair plugs. I added a rose to her ponytail bottom, because I think she looks like a tango dancer! No green ears, nose nips or neck splits. She has the earlier hollow Barbie MCMLVIII stamped body, with all fingers and all nail polish. No chews, and her limbs hold all poses. She has some faint green dots on the back of her ankles; you have to look hard to see them.1961 Brunette Bubblecut Barbie: This petite miss has a bit of a mop top, (or maybe she's a Beatles fan & wants to emulate them;) Her hair has some dryness on the ends around her face, but she's still a cutie! She seems like a transitional bubble to me; even though she has the earlier Barbie only body, she has a slightly bigger bubble hairdo with a matte, non-greasy complexion. She has original dark brows with retouched coral lips. She also was given a hint of blush. No green ears, nose nips or neck splits. Her hollow body has the earlier Barbie only marking on the right butt cheek. She has all fingers and toes, and all nail polish. She has a couple tiny dents on her right hand's fingers, it's not bad. I didn't have enough pics to show that. She has slight breast tip damage; no punctures or dents, but there's slight dimpling on left breast tip (on right in pics). Her left arm is slightly longer and darker than her right arm. Her limbs hold most poses, with her right arm slipping only in the very lowest position, from 15 degrees in front to straight down at her side. She has faint pinkish staining at the back of her mid-left thigh down to her upper left calf. 1st Issue 1960 Brunette Flocked Hair SL Ken: He's the perfect date with nice original facial features! I will note he has a tiny 1/16" scratch at his left chin (on the right in the pics), and a tiny abrasion below his chin on his right side, see pic #23. These tiny flaws don't show unless you look super closely. He has retained quite a bit of his flocked hair, considering he was played with. His hair some wear at the left edge of his upper forehead (left in the pics), and a little at his left temple. There's also a 5/8" long line across the back top of his crown that has lost the hair. He's marked Ken TM MCMLX on his right butt cheek. His body is stain free, and his limbs will hold all poses. I fixed his right arm with a small rubberband inside the joint's gap, as the arm slipped a little in lower positions. You might be able to see a little bit of the rubberband at the underarm up close, but the arm is nice and tight now, & shouldn't show when he wears any outfit.1963 Fashion Queen Barbie & 3 wigs: This pouty gal has many different looks with her 3 wigs! The redhead sidepart wig is slightly messy and could use a little restyling. She comes with a nice condition blonde bubblecut wig, and super nice brunette page boy wig. The brunette wig looks like it was never combed out, see pic #4. The blonde wig show some green on the inside of the wig cap (from a pin?), but it hasn't stained the hair & doesn't show on display. Her original face make-up looks great with slight wear on her original coral/pink lips & nice dark brows with smokey eyeshadow. Her coloring is light and peachy, not discolored from smoke or molds. Her painted hair doesn't have any rubs. She has a small green dots at each ear that is covered by the pearl on filament earrings. No nose nips, or neck splits. She is on a Midge 1962/Barbie 1958 marked body with all nail polish. The body is in good shape with tight limbs and no finger chews. Her joints hold all poses well. She has some light scratching on the back of her torso. Straight Leg Allan: Ken's best bud is up for any adventure! This handsome redhead has nice original face paint, with a teense of wear to his lower lip. The waves at the front of his painted hair have some wear, and there's a tiny bit wear at his right temple (on left in pics). His joints are very tight, and hold all poses. He's marked 1960 Mattel on his right butt cheek, and he doesn't have any chews or pokes. He's a small pinkish felt pen mark on the back of his right heel. Some of the tagged clothing needs cleaning and/or minor repairs. I will mention any obvious problems that I notice in the clothing and accessories:Accessories Pic #6: One black clone shoe has a split. The red & orange mules, and the gold wedge shoes are vintage Japan Mattel shoes, as are the 2 pair of Ken shoes. The rest of the shoes are clones. The long gloves don't have any rips or tears, but the white gloves are discolored and could use a bleach. Ken's neck tie needs a new rubber band sewn on it. The sunglasses are clone. Please note a Yellow Barbie, Ken & Midge Booklet with a Midge paper insert is included (see main pic), and also the Solo in the Spotlight scarf (fraying on 1 side and tearing at 1 corner).Clothing Pic #7 & #8: Dinner at Eight: Over dress is nice. Jumpsuit is clean, but a little limp. It needs a 5/8" seam repair at back waist seam near back closure. Snap is coming loose, needs a stitch. Solo in the Spotlight dress is super nice with all of its glitter, but glitter does fall off as you handle it. The pink scarf (main pic) is frayed along 1 side and has tearing at 1 corner, I forgot to picture it here. White column gown is homemade and clean, but has a spot in the beadwork area, I would add a bead over the spot. Let's Dance dress needs a 1/2 snap added to the back closure. Floral Petticoat has stretched waist elastic.Pic #9 & #10: Senior Prom: Dress will display well though there is light soil on the bodice. The tulle panels are in good shape and cover up the stains and soil on the satin underskirt. The tagged fur stole has hook and eye closures & a clean lining. Ken's Pajamas are missing a button, & have light soil. The bottoms have stretched elastic. His robe has some fading/slight yellowing in areas.Pic #11 & #12: Sweet Dreams: Has a TM tag! Panties need new leg elastic, but waist elastic is good. Red Flare: Coat, hat, & purse have clean, nice velvet. Coat's lining has a big stain, but it doesn't go through to outer velvet. Rhinestone on purse has been replaced by a button. Busy Gal Blouse: faint soil, spot on back halter strap, needs a new loop for the button at neck. Sweater girl sweaters have holes, mostly on cardigan, shell looks pretty good. Cardigan is missing 1 gold button. The skirt needs 1/2 a snap sewn on, needs a stitch at a waist dart.Pic #13 & #14: Bride's Dream dress should display well, has light soil at shoulders & 1 spot on outer chiffon skirt at back of dress (should spot clean out). The veil has an intact wire & good tulle. The pearls on the veil show some loss of the pearl coating. Homemade lavender column dress has faint soil at bodice. HM green print sundress is nice. Light Blue clone wiggle dress is like new, clean & crisp with pressed on silver snaps. Pic #15 & #16: Resort Set Jacket is nice. Pak White Romper is pretty clean. Pak Olive Polka Dot Sheath looks pretty good. Clone red jacket & pleated skirt look great, but skirt needs 1/2 snap sewn on.Pic #17 & #18: Garden Party dress is nice, just has faint aging/yellowing of fabric, mainly on the back. Party Date dress has a soiled bodice; and it's lost most glitter on the skirt. Gold belt shown is clone. HM pink brocade strapless sheath is clean & nice, as is tan brocade coat. Dress has slight fray at waist dart. Coat has slight fraying at underarms, needs small repairs there.Pic #19 & #20: Ken's Saturday Date looks good; the shirt is yellowed slightly & the tie needs a new rubber band sewn on. Sport Shorts outfit looks good. Car coat & hat are clean & nice. Pic #21 & #22: Winter Holiday jacket is stiff & has tan discoloration; the striped top is slightly dingy, but the black pants are nice. Ski Queen jacket has 1 red ribbon tie torn off short, zipper works. The blue ski pants need a small repair at the elastic waist where elastic is coming unstitched. Blue Pak Apron looks good. Cotton Casual has soil on the bodice, & needs its bows retied.1961 Vinyl Solo in the Spotlight Black Vinyl Trunk: I don't have enough pics to show the case. The graphics look very nice on both its sides. There aren't any splits in the outside vinyl at the hinge! The handle has a little surface "stuff" on it that needs to be cleaned off. Has an intact handle and latch and all 3 accessory drawers inside, & a red plastic strap to hold a doll in. The housing for one of the drawers is loose, it just needs a little glue at the bottom to tack it down.
