It’s an amazing collection that I obtained from a former Mattel employee who worked there many years ago. There’s a Ken doll which I covered his private parts with his manhood taped to the doll which I covered up. From what I understood these were never released and only 1-5 were produced I know of one other one in a private collection. Many samples and prototype heads clothing outfits. The Joey Lawrence and Wendy McCulley dolls are one of a kinds. There Elvis prototype heads and more just to name a few. This doll is about the rarest doll I’ve ever seen. I bought it from the Ruth cronk collection who was a 35 year collector. I was told that is was an original sample fashion queen. As you can see in the early production pictures that this doll was originally created with yellow hair. added several pictures next to mass produced dolls. 1966 Bend Leg Skipper brunette. Comes in the rarest Skipper box that I consider the evolutionary step from dolls boxed with lids to this open face style where the graphics are on back and sides. Doll has high color face. Some pale areas as shown and marks from headband not too bad. Has split in top of one foot and one shoe. Box shows age wear. Some wrinkles and creases as shown but better than most I have found. Images are different than any other bend leg skipper box on the sides and features more mod fashions and even depicts Skipper in a never produced mod suit similar to a Francie Japanese

I have many different Barbie items from a former Mattel employee / product designer. Some prototype / test / sample stuff. This is a once in a lifetime chance to own this set of 12 Pepsi Spirit Barbie & Skipper & Ken & Friends prototypes. Here's a story regarding the dolls from the Designer who's collection these are coming from ... "Here's the interesting story about the Pepsi dolls. I didn't remember what happened but my friend who was the marketing person reminded me. in 1989, Mattel partnered with Toys R Us to make exclusive Pepsi Barbie and Skipper dolls only sold at Toys R Us. They were called "Pepsi Spirit Barbie and Skipper." They sold well and Toys R Us had Mattel create more "Pepsi Spirit Barbie" dolls with Ken and all the friends, which I designed. They were submitted to Toys R Us and before going into production, Toys R Us decided to cut Mattel out of the deal and they launched some dolls they called "Generation Next Pepsi" dolls which were knock offs of Barbie. So the "Pepsi Spirit" dolls we have were never put into production and they are one of a kind prototypes. I think you could probably tell that story and collectors might go crazy for them." Vintage 1964 Straight Leg Blonde Test Market Prototype Skipper Doll in Box, SS and Vintage Original Outfit. Skipper’s hair feels thicker than the standard Skipper dolls. It has not been cut and there are no missing hair plugs. Some broken, bent hairs throughout. No neck splits, nose nips or green on her temples.All original face paint, only a hint of brush has been applied.No pierced ears. No green ear ever.Body is in very good condition, with minor played-with wear, scuffs, soil, staining. Her limbs are firmly attached to her torso and hold a pose.
