This Barbie is in very good condition. She has the holes in her feet to hold her up in the included original stand (which has a cosmetic chip on the back side). The copyright marking is visible on her right buttock. Her right foot has the word JAPAN on the bottom.She has white irises and sharply arched eyebrows. All of her features are original. Her ponytail has never been taken down. This is the exact model shown on the Wikipedia page about the introduction of Barbie at the American International Toy Fair on March 9, 1959, Barbie's official birthday.  The Model 850 doll, with the original box, accessories, and documents from 1959 are all in good condition (see photos). The doll was “gently played with” for only a short period of time in 1959. Her hair was never disturbed and still has the original rubber band. No restoration work has been done. There are holes in the feet with metal cylinders in both legs which fit onto the original black two-pronged stand, stamped Barbie T.M. By Mattel. The doll is also marked Barbie T.M. on the right buttock, and Japan on the right foot bottom, thus verifying authenticity The box is marked Barbie T.M., Teen Age Fashion Model, 1959. She also sold toys in a special section upstairs and my sister and I looked forward every year to visiting her shop and picking out things we wanted to put on our Christmas list. My birthday is in November, and the year I turned 10, she gave me one of the first Mattel Barbies made in Japan. I thought Barbie wasn’t very pretty, but I loved her clothes. She is long gone, but her outfits are alive and in excellent condition, as I became obsessed with her clothes. I would not let anyone touch my Barbie, and on every Birthday and Christmas until I became a teen, all I asked for were Barbie outfits. She had more clothes than I ever dreamed of having. Now I am 73 years old and have 2 beautiful granddaughters and 7 great nieces who love Barbie too. I would love to leave this cherished collection to my granddaughters or a great nieces, but none of them would ever value these items as I did. They would end up lost, tossed aside or in the trash. So, as much as it breaks my heart to sell these items, I feel selling them can benefit my education in the future. A few pieces were missing, like an earring or glove, but replaced by me. Condition is very good on most things, some things and clothes are like new, some have a few flaws like a stain but these can be washed, or as on the Enchanted Evening, i think shld be dry cleaned; but on the whole everything is in very good condition, see photos, everything is in there; all of this has been owned by one person since childhood.  My treasure is your great find with this early Mattel number 3 Barbie!This all original vintage #3 Blond Ponytail Barbie with blue eyes and brown eyeliner has been safely stored for more than 60 years. I am the original owner. As a child, I was very careful with my Barbie and she is in excellent vintage condition. She was gently handled and well cared for. Always in a smoke free home. She comes with the original zebra striped bathing suit, black mules and white sunglasses which are missing one arm. Although Barbie is the real find here... she also comes with eleven outfits and the storage trunk box she has rested in for decades. Most of the clothes are in excellent condition but missing a few accessories as you can see in the photos. There are also some rare items like a blue bubble dress and Barbie's tiny vinyl record, titled, "No Thank You."Her face paint, lipstick, delicate cheek blush, nail polish, and toenail polish are all 100% original with no touch ups, rubs, or missing paint! Her soft shiny hair is beautiful with poodle bangs and the original top knot. The original hair band on her pony tail broke while I was photographing her so I replaced it. She has all of her original hair with no missing plugs or cut pieces.She has JAPAN lengthwise on the bottom of her right foot. And an "O" is slightly visible on her other foot where I wrote my initial. She has some discoloration on one foot from the shoe.Her solid body is clean. She has all her fingers and toes. Her neck and torso have faded slightly to a lighter ivory color. The Mattel marking is clear on her tush but she has some discoloration on her right cheek. (See photo)Her left leg doesn't move and I didn't want to force it. But her right leg, arms and head move as they should with tight joints. She has a tiny pin point speck of green behind each earing which is barely visible.  Offering for your consideration is a wonderful, very large vintage collection of Barbie, Francie and Midge dolls. There is an American Girl, two ponytails (I think a #5 and #6), an early Bubble Cut, Francie and Midge dolls. I'm including 26 vintage Barbie outfits and six vintage Francie doll outfits. A total of 22 of the 32 outfits are complete and there are NO reproductions in this auction!Please note: I purchased this lot in 2013 from two sisters who are lifelong friends of mine. Everything has been played with, however the items have always been very well taken care of and loved. I'll give a complete description below. I know it is very long, but I think when you buy an auction, the more you know the better it is, and I want you to be really happy with your purchase! So grab your favorite beverage and enjoy the pictures and description. Thank you.Doll DescriptionsSummary - All of the dolls have no green ear! The American Girl, Francie and Midge don't even have earring holes. All dolls have blonde hair in various shades. There are NO neck splits, missing fingers or toes, and NO nose nips or damage to eyelash ridges. They are very clean, no musty or smoking odors. Each doll will have her correct swimsuit and heels when she arrives.American Girl - very nice condition. Great hair and makeup is still good, lip color is peachy. Body markings are correct. Knees click three times and and hold three times. Nail polish is very good, there is some missing. Does not look like she ever had toe polish. Right leg has a very small space between leg and body. Left leg has two tiny indents on the calf. Please see picture, it is the one with Francie's mark on her thigh.First Ponytail - Original topknot, I can barely see rubber band, it has almost disappeared. She has pretty hair, it is not braided, she does have some flyaways. Lower rubber band missing. I think she is a #5, has Barbie only body. Winning bidder may prefer to have this dolls face paint restored as it is faded or gone completely and paint is missing on one eye. She is the oldest doll in collection also. Nail polish is still good, toe polish is missing on a few of her toes. Right arm is swingy when down, will hold a pose however. Right ankle turns in a tiny bit.Second Ponytail - Original topknot, rubber band on top knot is mostly gone. Great looking bangs, ponytail is braided, some flyaways. No lower rubber band, I added the ribbon. Not sure if braid is factory. I'm pretty sure she is a #6, has Midge - Barbie body. Face paint is pretty, faded on lips and eyebrows. Super tiny dot on chin, this is hard to see. Nail polish is good, I see no toe polish. Right leg is a tad shorter. Right foot has super tiny mark on side of little toe. Nice body.Francie - Excellent doll. Has eyelashes, very pretty face, straight waist. Hair is pretty, long, with a nice curl. Knees click times three, hold times two. Correct markings on bottom. I don't think she ever had nail or toe polish. Tiny blue mark on side of left thigh (please see picture). I can see the beginning of a faint split on the top of her left foot too.Bubble Cut - Excellent condition, Barbie only body. Very pretty hair, her makeup is super nice, her lips are fab! Slightly greasy face. Nail polish is faint, I see no toe polish. Great body, slight swing to right arm when down.Midge - Excellent condition, has Midge - Barbie body. Pretty face paint, hair is curled, few flyaways. Both her nail and toe polish is very good.OutfitsSummary- I've shown the dolls wearing some of the outfits and tried to show all outfits in the pictures. All the zippers work and are YKK. The snaps are present. One side of the snap is coming off the Plantation Belle slip. Most Barbie R tags are present, some are frayed. Note: There is no tag on the Dancing Doll dress, however I'm sure it is vintage. There are NO seam tears, hems coming out, or major stains. Some of the white material in the clothes is a little cream colored. I'll list the complete outfits first, and any issues I'll point out as best I can on all the outfits. If you have questions, please email. If the outfit has open toe heels, they are marked Japan on the left, no splits on any. The outfits with the cork wedgies have them too. Friday Night Date - Very pretty classic Barbie outfit, HTF straws are included8. Garden Party - still very pretty.9. Lunchtime - there were no shoes with this outfit. HTF Tea kettle works, so does toaster. Toast is here too! Pans and toaster have a few light marks/rubs. The belt has a small indent hear the end, but no hole.10. Movie Date - great condition.11. Open Road - This was a favorite outfit of the sisters. No toggles on coat. Red chiffon on scarf has several small holes and a very tiny stain on brim. HTF wedgies are in great shape, however there is glue on one of the cork sandals where the strap was repaired. (Please see pictures)12. Peachy Fleecy - In great condition. There is hardly any of the feather left on the hat.13. Plantation Belle - this was a favorite outfit too. There is no jewelry. Slip has frayed ribbon and snap hanging by a thread. Hat has one band that is bent.14. Picnic Set - HTF fish is not cracked, has a couple of minor rubs on each side. Fishing pole has line and sinker. Will display well! The hat is so fun! Cork wedgies are awesome. Favorite outfit!15. Resort Set - Great condition, has the original HTF bracelet. Cork wedgies are very nice.16. Senior Prom - The gown is in Excellent condition. No pearls on shoes. Please see picture17. Sheath with Gold Buttons, RUST color with mini white dots. Super condition.18. Spectator Sport - has VHTF belt! Has gold dimpled purse and I'm including the VHTF striped knit purse and Mustard Color Open Toe heels.19. Suburban Shopper - has original HTF drop pearl necklace. One of the fruits in the purse is split, just a little on top, not the entire piece of fruit. Hat bands are a bit bent. Super classic vintage Barbie outfit.20. Theatre Date - no hat version21.  This is a vintage ponytail Barbie #3 in her original box. I think she is pretty fabulous but I will of course describe all flaws so please read below and feel free to ask me any questions.This doll came from the original owner. She was dressed in the Resort Set and put away for decades. She is fresh to the market from a recent estate sale in DallasDoll has heavy body with pleasing crayon smell and even white tone. I broke one of the sandals when removing the shoe. You can see faint mark from where the shoe was. This is a common shoe to replace. The other shoe is stuck so I am not going to force it.The red jacket has bled on to her left armpit and back slightly. It is possible this could be removed or lightened with a cleaning. Her left arm moves but her right arm is a bit stuck. I am not going to force it. She was stored with the charm bracelet on which has caused green staining to her left arm. This can likely be cleaned but I don’t think it will go away entirely. No neck splits. She has brown eyeshadow. There is a faint splotchiness to her complexion. Not bad but I do see light redness pretty much all over. She is blushing after her reemergence in the 21st century! Life is so different!I removed her original pearl stud earrings that caused some green. This will not spread now that they have been removed. I think I still have enough one of you want to keep it but it is best to throw them away.Her hair is in original style. Lower elastic band has fallen apart in the ponytail though. Box is pretty sturdy with splits to base on one end. Cover has split on one corner seam and halfway along top. Nice graphics Brochure has Gay Parisienne Signature required for delivery!  eBay 1960 #3 Brunette ponytail Barbie,with retained color and blue eye shadow! This #3 Barbie does not include her original box, although I do have a #5 party set box (#5 Barbie is not included). The party set box has the majority of its original clothing and accessories with additional outfits.This particular Barbie was acquired from the original owner, it has been very lightly handled. As you can see in the pictures, the make up and nail polish are in pristine condition as well as the entirety of the doll.Notes: Similar to Barbie number two doll, with new blue irises, new softer curve to eyebrows some dolls with brown or blue eyeliner, same black and white stripe swimsuit, white sunglasses with blue lenses, black open toe heeled shoes, some came with new pearl earrings, pedestal stand, cardboard box, and a Barbie booklet. This Barbie shows the line across the right thigh, she has retained her color and is well preserved. What is included?: The Box includes a two prong stand with base, 3 teenage clothing catalogue booklets, and a total of 7 outfits. Also includes blue shade sunglasses and black open toe heels for her swim outfit. She has accommodating shoes and some but not all original accessories that came with the outfits as you can see in the photos above. The costumes include: "Golden Girl" #911, "Plantation Bell", #966(does not include straw bag, gloves,or include petticoat.), "Silken Flame", #977. "Barbie Q Chef Outfit" #962,"Sweet dreams 973 Suburban shopper 969(Excluding fruit tote and telephone ) Resort set" #963This box has some wear on it yet it is still in good condition, the lid has some tape along the top but there are no visible tears.  Vintage 1961 Mattel Barbie Doll Model #850 Brunette Bubble Cut with original box, metal wire stand, earrings, white sunglasses with gold glitter, black/white zebra bathing suit, black shoes (one marked Japan), and pink booklet. All items are original. Barbie, PATS PEND MCMLVIII by Mattel on right buttock. Beautiful turquoise eyes and red lipstick. No green ear. Hair is raven black (brunette) with tight bubble cut, red fingernail and toenail polish. Polish and lipstick in great condition and highly visible. Shows no signs of wear. Please see picture #3. Original shoes have Japan on the bottom of one shoe. Box has blue/white suburban shopper outfit on upper left side and Brunette Bubble Cut #850 label pasted on bottom of box. Box shows gentle wear and bottom right corner is split. Please see picture #2.Original owner of the doll and all of the following outfits and accessories. Doll is in excellent condition. Gently played with and well taken care of.Friday Night Date: #979. 1960 - 1964. Original vintage outfit includes: White pinafore, blue corduroy jumper, black heels, 2 plastic coke tumblers with black Barbie serving tray and drinking straws. Blue jumper has light stains on the back. All felt appliques and snaps on jumper and pinafore are present and work. Black tray, glasses and straws in great condition and show minimal wear. Original vintage outfit includes: Tennis dress, jacket, racket, socks, blue sunglasses, 2 balls, white tennis type shoes and tennis rules book. White tennis dress doesn’t have any holes and zipper works. Some yellowing due to age/storage. Jacket has orange colored ribbing and is lightly soiled on front and back due to gently play. Some very light orange bleeding has occurred on the back of the jacket. Socks, sunglasses, balls, tennis shoes, racket and tennis rules book are in great shape. Bottom of shoes are both marked Japan. Please see 5th picture.Busy Morning: #956. 1963 (Only sold for one year). Original vintage outfit includes: Pink/white dress with phone, pearl necklace, shoes, hat and handbag. No holes in dress and zipper works. Hat ribbon in great condition. Phone cord attached and white shoes (one marked Japan) are in excellent condition. Necklace is intact and features a strand of faux pearls. Handbag closure works and handle with fruit pieces present and intact. Dress has stain on left breast area. One piece of fruit on the handbag is cracked with age. Please see 6th picture.Resort Set: #963. 1959 - 1962. Original vintage set includes: Red/White jacket. blue/white sleeveless jersey knit top, white shorts, white sunhat, white strap cork wedge shoes and metal charm bracelet. All clothes are in working order, have original snaps and no holes. White shorts and sunhat show some yellowing due to age or storage. White strap cork wedge shoes are great and do not have any issues. Bracelet intact and complete. Please see 7th picture.Nighty Negligee: #965. 1959 – 1964. Original vintage outfit includes: Pink sheer full-length gown and matching sheer robe with pocket. Stuffed felt dog and pink shoes with pompom. Shoes (one marked Japan) have pompoms and in great shape. Gown and robe do not have any holes. Ties and embroidery are present and intact. Please see 8th picture. Enchanted Evening: #983. 1960 - 1963. Original vintage outfit includes: Pink gown with train accented with a rose, white stole, white long gloves, drop faux pearl earrings, 3 strand faux pearl necklace, clear shoes. All clothing pieces in excellent shape with no holes. Drop earrings are good and intact. Necklace has come apart and needs restringing. Shoes (one marked Japan) have good glitter on heels and across toe band. Please see 9th picture.Open Road: #985. 1961 – 1962. Original vintage outfit includes: Jacket, sweater, pants, hat, red sunglasses, red strap cork wedge shoes, and map. Jacket has all brown buttons but missing the top toggle and is lightly soiled. Tan sweater is in great condition with all three snaps and no holes. Pants are great with working zipper and no holes. Straw hat has no holes in red band that ties under her chin but some fraying around the straw brim is noted. Red sunglasses are great with working hinges and red strap cork wedge shoes are great with no issues. Map has been torn and only piece remains. Please see 10th picture. American Airline Flight Stewardess: #984. 1961 - 1964. Original vintage outfit includes: White blouse, navy skirt and jacket, black over the shoulder handbag, American Airlines travel bag and navy hat. White blouse has 3 tiny buttons and a working snap. Jacket has 4 tiny buttons, a working snap and a wings insignia on left front. Skirt is straight with working snap. Hat with an AA insignia on the front is in great condition with 2 prongs, so it stays in her hair. Black handbag and travel bag are excellent with working zipper on travel bag. Clothes have some slight soiled areas from normal play. Please see 11th picture.Barbie Fashion Pak. - Satin Mix & Match Group. 1963. Cardboard gold colored talc box has been bent but writing on top is vivid and shows minimal wear. Set is missing comb and brush. Blue terry towel is plain, and the word "Her's" is not present. Soap and sponge have yellowed with age. Please see 12th picture.
