#1 Ponytail Barbie #850 1959 One owner, my mother who became a fashion merchandiser and lampshade designer. She loved this doll and it comes with many original partial outfits, detailed below. She even had some outfits handmade for this doll, in 1960, which we're including as part of this dolls story. The doll was purchased in 1959-1960 for my mom when she was eleven by her older sister from Uncle Tom’s Toys (now Tom’s Toys) at 682 Higuera Street in San Luis Obispo, California, and Tom's is still in business. All of the other outfits were also purchased around the same time. Original #850 Zebra Swimsuit outfit:One piece black and white zebra striped swimsuit Includes black open toe heeled shoes with holes, white sunglasses with blue lenses, and her gold tone hoop earrings 1959 Partial Outfits #921 floral petticoat 1959: Petticoat only #969 suburban shopper outfit 1959: Dress, sun hat and very fun Woven bag with fruit. (Aluminum clips on the hat lost their spring, but could be replaced) #961 evening splendor 1959: Gold and White Strapless Brocade Dress, Matching Gold and White Fur trimmed Coat Fur and Pearl Trimmed Headband, Green Corduroy Clutch Purse (White Satin Lining), Does not include: Brown Open Toe Heels, Short White Gloves, Matching earrings, White Hankie, Graduated Pearl Necklace. #972 wedding day 1959: Wedding Dress, veil, wrist corsage, Pearl necklace, Bouquet only. Not included: gloves, thigh corsage. #973 sweet dreams pink 1959: Shorts and Skirt, and Diary. Clock not included. Shorts are stretched out. Her original cardboard box, and booklet is not included. The doll is made of heavy vinyl plastic, partially solid body with excellent original skin tone color. Bottom of right foot marked JAPAN. See images for Barbie mark. Blonde saran ponytail hair & curly bangs. Pointy ^ ^ eyebrows like lightening bolts, side glancing eyes with white irises, and hand painted face. Closed red painted mouth. Brass metal cylinders in feet, that fit onto the stainless pins on the black Bakelite stand which has two chips, with Mattel Deboss. This allows her to stand "on her own feet." Rare Barbie #2 Brunette Ponytail Display Doll Silhouette Box Plantation Belle
eBay This is the rare Barbie #2 brunette ponytail display doll silhouette box plantation belle. This item is sold in used condition. In my opinion, it is in very good to excellent condition for its age. The item has wear / dirt on them, see pics. The bottom box has split on side and bottom inside/outside edge split. Both have tape on it. The top box lid has 3 corner / edge splits with tape on it. The doll front waist and back, arms have discolor from wearing dress. The left arm has small plastic pc sticking up near elbow. Rough plastic feeling on doll arm in that area, see pics. The arms and legs move up and down fine, but you must take it slow on the legs. They have not been used for long time, and are very stiff to move. The left leg is a harder to move, than the right. The doll right ear has something sticky? on ear, behind it, on hair, see pic. The left ear hole is ripped a little, see pic. The toes/ foot area have a little discolor on front and back, see pics. The dress is tagged, barbie r. The stand is marked tm, and on back marked Japan and Mattel International r, see pic. The necklace is broken. The earring is missing color on round part, see last pic. The white skirt is dirty around waist section. The barbie doll is marked tm. The tm is worn, have to see it on angle closeup. The store display box label says #866 plantation belle. Then under it #966, see pics. Some pics with flash made items brighter, but showed more detail. The doll is not bright white that some pics show. Pic #1 is a close match in color. VTG WORLD OF BARBIE FASHIONS STORE DISPLAY, STACEY, PJ, MOD BARBIE, 4 DOLLS 1970
eBay Up for auction is a vintage Barbie store display, which is dated 1970. This "World of Barbie Fashion Boutique" set is an estate find that is incredibly rare! It includes four dolls: two mod Barbie dolls, a Stacey doll, and a PJ doll. Stacey is wearing a pink negligee set with poodle slippers but the other three dolls are wearing mod fashions. From left to right, the first doll is wearing a yellow pant suit set with yellow high heels, the second is wearing a multi-colored abstract patterned mini dress with green high heels, and the PJ doll is wearing an outfit that epitomizes the 1960s and early 70s: an orange mini dress with plaid skirt and matching orange coat and plaid scarf, with yellow boots. All of the dolls are in new condition, with all original outfits and wrist tags. Each silver tag is marked with the name of the doll on one side and "Made in Japan" on the other. They are charmingly posed in their original store display which is in excellent condition. The blonde Stacey doll has shifted position over the years so that she is partially blocking one of the Barbie dolls, but she seems to be stable at this point. The store display does show some wear, including dents in the plastic, which can be popped out a bit but tend to want to return to their dented state. There are no holes in the plastic though. There is a small area with adhesive residue (probably from a sticker that was removed at some point) on the front and slight slits in the plastic on the top and bottom of the display. There is mild wear to the cardboard in places. I took lots of pictures so please view all of the pictures carefully as they are part of the description. There are no unpleasant odors.This is a must have for the serious Barbie collector!Thank you for looking at my auction. As always, please consider my pictures they are part of my description. I do try to take lots of pictures. Highly close up, macro settings. RARE Barbie Brunette Side Part doll. She comes on a Barbie Midge straight leg body, rather than the traditional bendable leg body. She has LOTS of hair, I did wash gently, and because of the body and the hair I did do a lot of research on this one, according to the books Jean Burger is credited for designing the Side Part Barbie. They required so much more time to root this style. And a few dolls with more densely rooted hair that curls and turns all around have been found in JAPAN and USA. When I "styled" her hair it drove me crazy that it did just that, it curls up if you want, or turns under. Now to her condition, the pictures show that her eyelids need, could use a touch up. I do NOT touch up any of my dolls, afraid. I know it can be done. Her lips are nice pouty pink. I do see a tiny tiny white fleck inside her lip. I actually added some super macro pictures, and they should show possibly the one on the inside is missing paint, and then there is a tiny one on her lower lip. Both look t me like they could have happened while making the doll. Just like someone was in a hurry? Not like someone did that while playing with doll. Her body and face match in skin tone, light, and evenly flesh toned. Hard to see but I noticed some superficial minor scratches on lower leg. Her body and limbs are nice and tight. She has NO GREEN, NO NECK SPLITS, and I do see earring holes, in one picture maybe 2 or 3? She never had nail polish on her toes and only some remains on hands. I did add some green HONG KONG mules to her outfit and noticed that only those very early shoes fit her. Her one foot, in my opinion, is just a tiny bit maybe one millimeter shorter than the other. ???!!! I suspect she might just be one of those '" TRANSITIONAL " Barbies, since Mattel never threw any parts away, you decide, ask away. Please. Her outfit is the original color magic blouse and skirt, in nice but a bit faded, condition, all snaps work fine. I am including the pants, but they are also a bit faded, and are discolored in some area. Fit so well. Shoes fit her perfectly. Almost forgot, she had a yellow and green headband originally, it was in very old shape, I cleaned it and salvaged what I could, tied together, that's what you see in pictures. Offering for your consideration is a wonderful, very large vintage collection of Barbie, Francie and Midge dolls. There is an American Girl, two ponytails (I think a #5 and #6), an early Bubble Cut, Francie and Midge dolls. I'm including 26 vintage Barbie outfits and six vintage Francie doll outfits. A total of 22 of the 32 outfits are complete and there are NO reproductions in this auction!Please note: I purchased this lot in 2013 from two sisters who are lifelong friends of mine. Everything has been played with, however the items have always been very well taken care of and loved. I'll give a complete description below. I know it is very long, but I think when you buy an auction, the more you know the better it is, and I want you to be really happy with your purchase! The American Girl, Francie and Midge don't even have earring holes. All dolls have blonde hair in various shades. There are NO neck splits, missing fingers or toes, and NO nose nips or damage to eyelash ridges. They are very clean, no musty or smoking odors. Each doll will have her correct swimsuit and heels when she arrives.American Girl - very nice condition. Great hair and makeup is still good, lip color is peachy. Body markings are correct. Knees click three times and and hold three times. Nail polish is very good, there is some missing. Does not look like she ever had toe polish. Right leg has a very small space between leg and body. Left leg has two tiny indents on the calf. Please see picture, it is the one with Francie's mark on her thigh.First Ponytail - Original topknot, I can barely see rubber band, it has almost disappeared. She has pretty hair, it is not braided, she does have some flyaways. Lower rubber band missing. I think she is a #5, has Barbie only body. Winning bidder may prefer to have this dolls face paint restored as it is faded or gone completely and paint is missing on one eye. She is the oldest doll in collection also. Nail polish is still good, toe polish is missing on a few of her toes. Right arm is swingy when down, will hold a pose however. Right ankle turns in a tiny bit.Second Ponytail - Original topknot, rubber band on top knot is mostly gone. Great looking bangs, ponytail is braided, some flyaways. No lower rubber band, I added the ribbon. Not sure if braid is factory. I'm pretty sure she is a #6, has Midge - Barbie body. Face paint is pretty, faded on lips and eyebrows. Super tiny dot on chin, this is hard to see. Nail polish is good, I see no toe polish. Right leg is a tad shorter. Right foot has super tiny mark on side of little toe. Nice body.Francie - Excellent doll. Has eyelashes, very pretty face, straight waist. Hair is pretty, long, with a nice curl. Knees click times three, hold times two. Correct markings on bottom. I don't think she ever had nail or toe polish. Tiny blue mark on side of left thigh (please see picture). I can see the beginning of a faint split on the top of her left foot too.Bubble Cut - Excellent condition, Barbie only body. Very pretty hair, her makeup is super nice, her lips are fab! Slightly greasy face. Nail polish is faint, I see no toe polish. Great body, slight swing to right arm when down.Midge - Excellent condition, has Midge - Barbie body. Pretty face paint, hair is curled, few flyaways. Both her nail and toe polish is very good.OutfitsSummary- I've shown the dolls wearing some of the outfits and tried to show all outfits in the pictures. All the zippers work and are YKK. The snaps are present. One side of the snap is coming off the Plantation Belle slip. Most Barbie R tags are present, some are frayed. Note: There is no tag on the Dancing Doll dress, however I'm sure it is vintage. There are NO seam tears, hems coming out, or major stains. Some of the white material in the clothes is a little cream colored. I'll list the complete outfits first, and any issues I'll point out as best I can on all the outfits. Open Road - This was a favorite outfit of the sisters. No toggles on coat. Red chiffon on scarf has several small holes and a very tiny stain on brim. HTF wedgies are in great shape, however there is glue on one of the cork sandals where the strap was repaired. (Please see pictures)12. Peachy Fleecy - In great condition. There is hardly any of the feather left on the hat.13. Plantation Belle - this was a favorite outfit too. There is no jewelry. Slip has frayed ribbon and snap hanging by a thread. Hat has one band that is bent.14. Picnic Set - HTF fish is not cracked, has a couple of minor rubs on each side. Fishing pole has line and sinker. Will display well! The hat is so fun! Cork wedgies are awesome. Favorite outfit!15. Resort Set - Great condition, has the original HTF bracelet. Cork wedgies are very nice.16. Senior Prom - The gown is in Excellent condition. No pearls on shoes. Please see picture17. Sheath with Gold Buttons, RUST color with mini white dots. Super condition.18. Spectator Sport - has VHTF belt! Has gold dimpled purse and I'm including the VHTF striped knit purse and Mustard Color Open Toe heels.19. Suburban Shopper - has original HTF drop pearl necklace. One of the fruits in the purse is split, just a little on top, not the entire piece of fruit. Hat bands are a bit bent. Super classic vintage Barbie outfit.20. Theatre Date - no hat version21. Vtg LOT Swirl Ponytail Barbies w/Original Black Tag Clothes Accessories & Case
Vintage 1960s Swirl Ponytail Barbie Lot/Original Clothing Case & Accessories. Includes five Swirl Ponytail Barbies, one brunette, one lemon, one platinum and two ash blondes, a black Barbie case, 23 separate outfits, including nightwear, multiple swimsuits, dresses and skirt sets, all Mattel original black tag pieces, luggage, many fun accessories and hangers. Dolls are all in good condition. There are no neck splits or missing limbs. There are a few very light, minute green ear spots, but they are very small and only noticeable upon close inspection. I'm guessing easily removed, but I didn't attempt. Clothes are also in nice condition. Smoke free home. Feel free to request ear close-ups or any other pics. (Condition: Pre-Owned)

1960 Vintage Early #3 Blond Ponytail Barbie, Brn eyeliner, w/outfits, OrigOwner
This early Mattel number 3 Barbie is all original with no touchups!I am the original owner. She was my first Barbie. She is not perfect but still a wonderful example of this beautiful iconic doll. She was gently handled and stored for more than 60 years in a smokefree home. She comes with the original zebra striped bathing suit, black mules and white sunglasses.I have included 7 outfits with accessories and the storage trunk box in which she has been stored. Most of the clothes are in excellent vintage condition but missing a few accessories as you can see in the photos. There are also two original Mattel Barbie dress patterns packages from 1961. The packages are opened but the patterns were never used. Her face is still gorgeous. The paint, luscious red lipstick, blue eyes and delicate brown eye shadow are all 100% original with no touch ups, rubs, or missing paint! The red polish on her fingers and toes shows a little rub off. (See photos.)She has all of her original hair with no missing plugs or cut pieces. She has nice poodle bangs and the original top knot. The original hair band on her ponytail was in fragments when I took her out of the storage case so I replaced it. She has JAPAN on the bottom of her foot in a rectangle. I was told by someone more knowledgeable than I, that indicates an early version of #3. Her overall skin is quite even. The Mattel marking is clear on her tush but she has some discoloration where her legs have been for so many years. She has all her fingers and toes. She has a few almost imperceptible scratches on her legs that don't show in photos. Her head, arms and legs all move well and the joints are tight. She has a some tiny metallic looking specks on her chest and dark ones on her hip and right temple. Her right ear is slightly marred. There is no green visible behind her earrings. (See photos)Barbie's clothing outfits are all original from about 1960 and are in excellent vintage condition with working zippers. They include the Winter Holiday complete with accessories and the leather-like belt, wedge shoes and plaid travel bag; the Wedding Day set with white satin gown and nylon chiffon over skirt and ruffles, the blue garter belt, pearl tiara veil, shoes and gloves; Friday Night Date with tray, drinks and a straw; Barbie Q Outfit with apron, chef's hat and some utensils; Suburban Shopper, Floral Petticoat and Fashion Undergarments with brush and mirror.
