Barbie Vintage Mattel Modern Furniture 1958 Japan w/ Boxes - RARE w/shipping box
eBay This is about as good as it gets folks…. A more than complete (salesman samples?) set of Mattel Modern Furniture all in original boxes and in the original shipping box. Included are: 1 - Sofa #801, 2 - Easy Chairs #802, 1 - Coffee Table #803, 1 - Side Table w/ Lamp #804, 1 - Dining Table w/ 2 - Chairs #805, 1 - Buffet #806, 1 - Queen Bed #807, 1 - Dresser w/ Mirror #808, 1 - Open Wardrobe #809, 1 - Studio Set - 2 - Daybeds, Corner Table, Lamp #810, 1 - Studio Bed #811 In 1958 Mattel introduced a line of doll furniture for 8" to 10-1/2" dolls called "Mattel Modern Furniture." The pieces were styled after the Danish Modern furniture so popular in the 1950's. The furniture was made in Japan and crafted from wood. Soon after, Mattel Modern Furniture was discontinued and ever since collectors have searched for and coveted these little gems. These highly collectible pieces were produced in Japan in 1958 and modeled after mid-century modern Danish furniture of the period – they are made of real wood and have many original details, as the commercial says the textiles are “real decorator fabric”. This furniture was produced the year before Barbie came on the scene and although many people thought it was designed for Barbie, at 12” tall she and Ken were just too big for it. Later Barbie designed doll-houses and furniture was designed at the appropriate 1/6th scale.Check out the vintage commercial - super cool! Condition: There is some wear to various boxes and a couple of them are drawn on, there is some dried out foam rubber filling loss on some of the cushions, some minor wood separation due to age - at 65 years old, the furniture is in excellent unplayed with condition. I have been collecting modern doll furniture and dollhouses for over 25 years and this is the most complete set I have seen... eBay Rare 1963 New Barbie Dream House #4092 This 1963 New Barbie Dream House is made of cardboard and is really beautiful and colorful. This was my gift from Santa on Christmas Day 1963! How excited I was to get this! It was well loved and has normal wear for a product of its age. You will receive exactly what is in the pictures. The lamp is missing and most of the furniture has tape marks on them as well as the outside of the house. Below is a listing of the features in this gorgeous and rare New Dream House. The kitchen has functioning cabinets and oven door. The living room is decorated with beautiful wall décor, fireplace and bookshelves along with the functioning shutter pass through. The bedroom has a wardrobe with the rod and functioning doors. The patio with its wood storage and grill space even has the outdoor hedge and brick wall! This incredible piece of history includes everything from the TV with 3 reversible inserts, the rug, furniture and a functional sliding patio door. It has all the turn screws as well. Please refer to all pictures as they serve as part of the description. You will receive what is pictured. I tried to capture the imperfections and taped items but I have many more pictures and would be happy to send them to you 5 at a time. The eating table has a bent leg and the wardrobe base is loose on the left side. There are a few bends here and there on the insert pieces and a small, mostly unnoticeable tear on the top flap. There are a few “age spots” under the base. Please note that I will not be accepting returns on this item due to the fragility of it so please look carefully at the pictures and ask questions. Barbie's New Dreamhouse, Mattel 1964 #4092A rare playset with some wear but still a great find. This play set can be opened in such a way that you can change the arrangements and flow eg. making the kitchen much bigger. It is set up in current formation for ease of pictures. The set includes all original items and is complete except the assembly booklet and missing one of the 4 metal wingnuts. The top near the remaining wingnut is torn so it closes but doesn't hold. The two wingnuts on the bottom are intact and work. We have included an extra table, 2 chairs, tv, and fence for the patio, all original as well.Barbie's New Dream House includes: Living room has wonderful graphics with great fireplace with 3 cardboard books for shelfLiving room furniture includes yellow couch, 2 orange comfy chairs, coffee table, side table, tv with the 3 original cardboard pictures with images on both sides and floor lamp. The rare green paper living room rug is a bit wrinkled and has a couple of tears in it but still pulls the living room together. Kitchen is intact with peek through opening to the living room. The oven opens and closes but has a worn spot as does the sink. The other cupboards open and close and the awning stands out as it should though the tabs are worn.The kitchen furniture includes a table that can be moved into four different slots, making different arrangements. The legs are bent and a little frayed. The two kitchen chairs are still fairly sturdy.Bedroom is complete. The closet doors open and have wire for hanging clothes, a drawer and shelves. The end of the shelves are a little worn. The bedroom furniture includes a bed that has some smudges on it, a night stand and lamp, a chair that is a little frayed and the mirror for the vanity.The patio is in great shape with a cool built in grilling area and wood burning underneath. It has as a wonderful see through sliding door, a chaise lounge, a hedge and brick fence. We have included an extra brick fence and table, two chairs and tv all from another original Barbie New Dream House. We take care in our shipping. This play set is wrapped in bubble wrap with paper and shipped in a recycled box. Barbie's New Dream House from 1964 is part of a larger complete Barbie Collection being sold by Vintage at Stone Cottage. We are a new small business and starting with a Vintage Barbie Collection from 1959-1966 that has been collected for over 25 years. We have all the original cardboard construction pieces coming up for sale, original and reproduction Barbies from each of these years such as #5 ponytail, Bubble Cut, Fashion Barbie, Swirl Ponytail Barbie, Miss Barbie with bendable legs. We have the original Irwin cars, Barbie cases from each year plus every Barbie outfit from 1959-1965 and many from 1966. Most items are complete or near complete.
