Vintage 1959 #2 Brunette Ponytail Barbie doll with TM Box, Stand, & Fashion book
I have a vintage 1959 original #2 brunette ponytail Barbie doll up for auction. She has a heavy solid body, faded almost white. She has arched eyebrows and white irises, only seen on the #1 and #2 dolls. She is a #2 so she has no holes in her feet. While not mint, she is in very good to excellent condition.The doll has no missing fingers or toes and no swingy arms or legs. Her face paint is very good. Her brunette hair is in a ponytail with original poodle curl bangs and no missing plugs. The top and bottom rubber bands on the ponytail are present, so they must have been replaced. Barbie’s head, torso and limbs are faded to the same shade. She has red nails, in very good condition. She has been stored in a smoke free home.She is 65 years old, has been displayed in clothes for years, and is not perfect. She has a small pin dot size dark mark on her upper back, near the neck, and a small (1/4 inch long) cut on the backside of her right upper arm (see photos). Some small pieces of hair appear broken off (see photos). She has light mold marks on the hips (see photo). Her color is somewhat uneven, maybe stains from clothes or exposure to sunlight. There are other minor marks and scuffs. Review the pictures carefully Barbie is marked on the right side hip: BARBIE TM PATS PEND MCMIVIII BY MATTEL INC. She is in need of a trip to the spa... She was well loved by some little girl long ago as she has signs of play. Her rooted hair was in a mess when I got her, and I've never had her restored. I just coiled her long hair and tied it up at the back of her head....... She has gorgeous arched eyebrows, beautiful painted eyes with white irises, heavy black eyeliner all around, and dark blue eye shadow. She is missing some paint on the eye lash ridge...Her lips are bright orange red with a touch of paint missing from top lip...her face paint looks all original... There's no nose nips or neck splits. She has earring holes with no earrings.. Body is in very good condition, needs a cleaning, and is faded to a pale ivory color as the very early dolls do....no swingy joints. There are a couple small dark green stain spots on the back torso by lettering and a pink marker stain on her one leg...she has all fingers and toes with red nail polish intact. Vintage Original Barbie #3 EarlyJapan Body~In Plantation Belle 966 Complete EUC
Stunning All original early issue Barbie Brunette Ponytail #3 with the earlier Ponytail body . There is a Japan stamp in box on her foot which makes her a rarer doll. Brunette #3’s are much rarer to find than their blonde counterparts because much more blondes were produced. This Barbie is so pretty, with original untouched face paint and lovely uncut dark hair still in topknot. Her hair has retained some factory curl. She has the early TM heavy solid cast vinyl body of the early Ponytail Barbies and she smells like crayons. Her skin color is very consistent all over. No green ear or missing digits. Nail polish is all original and untouched so it’s fading some. The ponytail box is in fair condition. It has some tape at the corners, and it has a box liner. The stand is in good condition without issues. She comes with her original pearl earrings (I have placed safe pearl earrings on doll) and booklet, sunglasses and #1 OT Heels .A complete Plantation Belle outfit with #1 pink heels, and a blue lingerie set. All of which in my opinion are in excellent condition. Also her body is smooth and has great even color and is free of scratches and stains ,and in my opinion is mint. At this point in history as BARBIE TURNS 65 years old ……the mint and near/mint number 3’s with the early Ponytail bodies can be rarer and harder to find !Please blow up and examine photos for condition and ask any questions you may have before purchasing. Look at this BEAUTIFUL Barbie doll!! She comes in her original HTF pink box that was only produced for a short time. The box has some wear but looks pretty good. There is no label on the box. She has her round black stand that displays well but has a chip out of the back edge. See pictures.Her “pretty in pink” outfit is in great condition. Comes with the lovely chiffon dress, big hat,White underslip, beaded purse, pink open toe mules, pink necklace, snake bracelet, and pink earrings. The jewelry has some missing paint but looks pretty good, bracelet look whiter than other jewelry. The dress looks clean with working zipper and no tears or frays. The Giant hat has one “holder” pushed down so it doesn’t grab her head but still displays beautifully! Shoes have no splits. Her cute beaded bag is in nice condition too! Her bracelet was left out of most pictures but it included!Barbie is gorgeous with dark hair that is a little messy but still in the original ponytail, all original face paint with no wear that I can see. Her body looks good,very pale as the #3 Barbie’s are apt to be. No missing digits,polish still intact. 1960 Vintage #3 Blond Ponytail Barbie, Brown Eyeliner, w/Extras, Original Owner
My treasure is your great find with this early Mattel number 3 Barbie!This all original vintage #3 Blond Ponytail Barbie with blue eyes and brown eyeliner has been safely stored for more than 60 years. I am the original owner. As a child, I was very careful with my Barbie and she is in excellent vintage condition. She was gently handled and well cared for. Always in a smoke free home. She comes with the original zebra striped bathing suit, black mules and white sunglasses which are missing one arm. Although Barbie is the real find here... she also comes with eleven outfits and the storage trunk box she has rested in for decades. Most of the clothes are in excellent condition but missing a few accessories as you can see in the photos. There are also some rare items like a blue bubble dress and Barbie's tiny vinyl record, titled, "No Thank You."Her face paint, lipstick, delicate cheek blush, nail polish, and toenail polish are all 100% original with no touch ups, rubs, or missing paint! Her soft shiny hair is beautiful with poodle bangs and the original top knot. The original hair band on her pony tail broke while I was photographing her so I replaced it. She has all of her original hair with no missing plugs or cut pieces.She has JAPAN lengthwise on the bottom of her right foot. And an "O" is slightly visible on her other foot where I wrote my initial. She has some discoloration on one foot from the shoe.Her solid body is clean. She has all her fingers and toes. Her neck and torso have faded slightly to a lighter ivory color. The Mattel marking is clear on her tush but she has some discoloration on her right cheek. (See photo)Her left leg doesn't move and I didn't want to force it. But her right leg, arms and head move as they should with tight joints. She has a tiny pin point speck of green behind each earing which is barely visible. On Feb-09-24 at 11:36:31 PST, seller added the following information: I m not a doll collector. This Barbie, and the two other dolls I have listed, are my own dolls from 1959 - 60. Other people let me know about the "Gay Parisienne" dress and its rarity. I have since been able to locate additional pieces to this outfit. All original from 1959. All in flawless MINT condition.The blue pin dot Bubble Dress of rayon taffeta has accent bows in front and back. The fabric is crisp and clean with no flaws and the zipper works easily.The Gold Velvet Clutch Purse has no flaws. It has clean white satin lining and a gold fastener securely attached.The Rabbit Stole is soft and luxurious, the white satin lining is spotless, the Barbie label is clean and the hook and eye are securely in place.The Long Tricot Gloves are also in great shape but pictured incorrectly as I said earlier.And I have the Dark Navy Shoes that go with the outfit. Vintage Rare Brunette Sidepart American Girl Barbie. This is the greatly coveted and hard-to-find Sidepart American Girl Barbie from 1966. She has fabulous dark brunette (black) hair coiffed into a page boy hairdo with nice flat bangs and terrific side curls. No cuts or missing plugs.She has perfect and original coral lips and intact eye makeup. No nose nips or neck splits. Her hair ribbon has been replaced.She has a few pinpricks on either side of her mouth. Very subtle and in no way detracts from her beauty. See pictures.She will come on an excellent bend leg body with working knees, no tears, wearing her mint American Girl swimsuit.These amazing dolls are often hard to find, especially in such terrific shape.
