Bubbles, Allen, Ken’s, Swirl, Ponytail’s, Skipper, Midge plus…..Not all dolls are perfect, however no broken fingers and all are in tact. American girl doll is missing last line of plugs on the back of her hair. She is also on a solid body. TM Ponytail Barbie in black and white swimsuit. I believe she is a 3/4 Transition Barbie. She does have glasses, shoes and TM booklet Everything has been meticulously gone through. Most (not all) of the items have been cleaned, mended and packaged separately. (No Ken items are packaged, I will however include packaging if requested). Large nostalgic late 50's / 60's Barbie and Ken Estate lot. 7 Dolls, **OVER 100 PIECES OF CLOTHING!!!** Multiple accessories, 4 Ponytail cases, ephemera. Dolls and cases are in the condition I purchased them in with the exception of wiping down the Ponytail cases. - Ken in Mexico (1963) Blue Eyes, Flocked Brunette Hair (patchy around the crown of the head.) Original paint on face, some light wear on eyebrows. Bottom of right foot stamped Japan. Light marks on tip of nose. Non-bending joints, Joints are mostly tight, arms are a touch loose. No bite marks on feet but possibly on hands, (not terrible, but some blemishes there.) - "Ken in Mexico" outfit looks complete, pants have little intact stirrups, has original black cowboy boots and paper insert. (There is also an insert for Barbie in Mexico but no doll or clothes found.) - Original Ken (1960) Bottom stamped Hawthorn CA USA. Painted on blonde hair shows some wear around the crown of the head. Face paint is original and looks great. No chew marks. Some discoloration on shoulders. Joints are loose, do not bend. - 1960s Brunette Bubblecut Barbie. Red lips and a sideways glance. All original paint on face, fingers and toes (some nails missing paint due to age.) No chew marks. Bottom of right foot stamped "Japan." There are two small cuts on the back of her right arm/hand. Her hair is full and thick with no flat spots. Joints are tight, no loose movements. - 1958 American Girl Doll, Titian (red) hair, sideways glance. Sadly, lots of green on the face of this one. Green has also gotten into the hair. Nice original paint on the fingers, none on the toes. No chew marks. Bendable knee joints, both function excellently. Holes in the bottom of the feet. Joints are tight, no loose movements. - 1960s Blonde Francie Doll. Pink Lips, blushing cheeks, light brown eyes, and beautifully full eyelashes! All original paint. No paint on fingers or toes. Vintage 1959-60 Barbie 850 Ponytail Doll #3 in Gay Parisienne #964 Dress
eBay Vintage Mattel 1959-1960 Barbie 850 Ponytail Doll #3 with original hard-to-find 1959 Gay Parisienne #964 dress and rabbit fur stole. Auction also includes a 1961 Barbie white vinyl carrying case, her original zebra swimsuit, miscellaneous accessories, two early booklets, and a small assortment of untagged and/or handmade clothing. Doll has blond hair, blue eyes, brown eyeliner, curved (not pointed) eyebrows, and Barbie TM on backside mark. No holes in bottom of feet. Standard 11 inch Barbie height. Provenance: One owner, received Barbie as a gift in late 1959 or 1960 in Portland Oregon, the carrying case a year or so later. Doll has been stored in case (not displayed or in open) for almost 60 years. This particular Barbie is an international traveler. She has lived in five different countries (United States, Indonesia, England, Singapore and Mozambique), made seven separate ocean crossings (Pacific, Atlantic and Indian), and she’s none the worse for wear. Her claim to fame is that she might be the only Barbie ever to have lived in the Mozambique home owned by South African leader Nelson Mandela and his human rights activist wife Graca Machel (who were not in residence at the time Barbie was there). This Barbie is in very good overall condition, gently played with for a few years when new. Photos show some changes in skin coloration, as to be expected prior to the change in the plastic body in Ponytail Doll #4. The ponytail hair band has mostly come undone, so hair hangs loose. Slight tarnishing in both ear lobes from metal earring posts, one earring post with loop still in place. Doll has original red fingernail and toenail polish. Gay Parisienne #964 outfit includes the dotted blue taffeta dress, white rabbit fur stole with white satin lining, and a pair of blue shoes with holes in the bottom. The outfit does not have the white gloves, hat, gold purse, or faux pearl post earrings. The faux pearl necklace is broken, many of the beads included in small bag. Dress and stole are tagged. YKK zipper in dress. The knit zebra swimsuit is in good condition, with just a few loose threads. Outfit includes the white sunglasses, one ear piece broken off. No black shoes. This doll appears to have come with faux pearl earrings on loops - not gold loops. The earrings are in poor condition, included in small box along with other beads. [Photo taken with red handbag and red shoes.] A 1979 faux fur cape #2667 is also included in this sale, an item from the Barbie Superstar ‘Sleek n Chic’ collection. Unknown provenance, not from this owner’s Barbie. The 1961 “Ponytail” white Barbie vinyl carrying and storage case is in good condition except for some smudges and for two splits in the vinyl on the inside crease edges. Has hook for hangers (no hangers) and a pull-out ‘dresser’ box. Measures 12.25 x 10.25 x 2.5 inches. The “Barbie, Teen Age Fashion Model” booklet has the pink Barbie-only cover, dated MCMLVIII [1958] by Mattel Inc. on the lower left front cover. This booklet does not include depictions of the Gay Parisienne, Roman Holiday, or Easter Parade ensembles, so it is not a 1959 first issue. The “Barbie and Ken” booklet is dated 1962 by Kokusai Boeki Kasha, LTD, on the bottom of the inside front cover. In addition to the two booklets, there’s an undated promotional one-sheet piece for the “new” Midge doll #860, on the reverse side is an advertisement for Barbie’s Dream House #816. Other miscellaneous accessories include a pair of red shoes with holes in bottom, a lone white shoe, a red vinyl purse, and a gold metal purse. Both purses can function as doll accessories, but they don’t appear to be Barbie items. The gold flat-piece metal purse might be a logo tag from a regular handbag. Miscellaneous clothing items are either handmade or presumed to be from other sources. Shipping charges are based on USPS Medium Flat Rate box for mailing within the United States. Insurance fees will be covered by seller. Seller’s Note:I am listing this Barbie for a family member who has had the doll since it was new. Vintage 1959-60 Barbie 850 Ponytail Doll #3 in Gay Parisienne #964 Dress
Vintage Mattel 1959-1960 Barbie 850 Ponytail Doll #3 with original hard-to-find 1959 Gay Parisienne #964 dress and rabbit fur stole. Auction also includes a 1961 Barbie white vinyl carrying case, her original zebra swimsuit, miscellaneous accessories, two early booklets, and a small assortment of untagged and/or handmade clothing. Doll has blond hair, blue eyes, brown eyeliner, curved (not pointed) eyebrows, and Barbie TM on backside mark. No holes in bottom of feet. Standard 11 inch Barbie height. Provenance: One owner, received Barbie as a gift in late 1959 or 1960 in Portland Oregon, the carrying case a year or so later. Doll has been stored in case (not displayed or in open) for almost 60 years. This particular Barbie is an international traveler. She has lived in five different countries (United States, Indonesia, England, Singapore and Mozambique), made seven separate ocean crossings (Pacific, Atlantic and Indian), and she’s none the worse for wear. Her claim to fame is that she might be the only Barbie ever to have lived in the Mozambique home owned by South African leader Nelson Mandela and his human rights activist wife Graca Machel (who were not in residence at the time Barbie was there). This Barbie is in very good overall condition, gently played with for a few years when new. Photos show some changes in skin coloration, as to be expected prior to the change in the plastic body in Ponytail Doll #4. The ponytail hair band has mostly come undone, so hair hangs loose. Slight tarnishing in both ear lobes from metal earring posts, one earring post with loop still in place. Doll has original red fingernail and toenail polish. Gay Parisienne #964 outfit includes the dotted blue taffeta dress, white rabbit fur stole with white satin lining, and a pair of blue shoes with holes in the bottom. The outfit does not have the white gloves, hat, gold purse, or faux pearl post earrings. The faux pearl necklace is broken, many of the beads included in small bag. Dress and stole are tagged. YKK zipper in dress. The knit zebra swimsuit is in good condition, with just a few loose threads. Outfit includes the white sunglasses, one ear piece broken off. No black shoes. This doll appears to have come with faux pearl earrings on loops - not gold loops. The earrings are in poor condition, included in small box along with other beads. [Photo taken with red handbag and red shoes.] A 1979 faux fur cape #2667 is also included in this sale, an item from the Barbie Superstar ‘Sleek n Chic’ collection. Unknown provenance, not from this owner’s Barbie. The 1961 “Ponytail” white Barbie vinyl carrying and storage case is in good condition except for some smudges and for two splits in the vinyl on the inside crease edges. Has hook for hangers (no hangers) and a pull-out ‘dresser’ box. Measures 12.25 x 10.25 x 2.5 inches. The “Barbie, Teen Age Fashion Model” booklet has the pink Barbie-only cover, dated MCMLVIII [1958] by Mattel Inc. on the lower left front cover. This booklet does not include depictions of the Gay Parisienne, Roman Holiday, or Easter Parade ensembles, so it is not a 1959 first issue. The “Barbie and Ken” booklet is dated 1962 by Kokusai Boeki Kasha, LTD, on the bottom of the inside front cover. In addition to the two booklets, there’s an undated promotional one-sheet piece for the “new” Midge doll #860, on the reverse side is an advertisement for Barbie’s Dream House #816. Other miscellaneous accessories include a pair of red shoes with holes in bottom, a lone white shoe, a red vinyl purse, and a gold metal purse. Both purses can function as doll accessories, but they don’t appear to be Barbie items. The gold flat-piece metal purse might be a logo tag from a regular handbag. Miscellaneous clothing items are either handmade or presumed to be from other sources. Shipping charges are based on USPS Medium Flat Rate box for mailing within the United States. lot of 12 early 1960s Barbies all in vintage Barbie clothes. Both ponytail and bubble cuts. Instant collection and a part of history. Not for the mint collector.THE FIRST 3 BARBIES in the picture are on midge/Barbie tush marked bodies. The rest are Barbie only tush marked bodies so out of the all the bubbles all but 1 are first issued! The ponytails are Barbie only they are probably all #5 (except for the 2 titans at top). Even though some of the Barbies could use a new hairdo or touched up make up, none of them have neck splits (good thing I noticed in the photos small neck split on the first bubble on top row in blue park dress) nose nips, missing digits nor haircuts. There is no obvious green ear, but they might’ve been treatedLastly, all of their outfits are true black and white label vintage 1960s Barbie clothes. She comes with her complete and near mint outfit and you'll love this one. Just to note one point of interest first, if you view photo #13, you'll see a comparison of her coat lining. The faded example of the coat is not part of the sale, but I wanted you to see just how bright and red her outfit actually is. The original owner must've played with the doll but the outfit must've been properly protected and put away immediately. It was well protected and is the nicest example of this outfit that I've ever come to possess. She also comes with her original and correct box for this doll. I've included pics of every angle of the box, top and bottom, and please enlarge and zoom in on it. There are a few places with writing and plain wear and tear to this very old box but it's the correct one originally issued in Mattel manufacturing for this dressed doll and outfit that came with her. There's also another addition I've never seen before and that's the clear plastic top/cover with an attached sticker, the sticker also including the correct info for the doll belonging to it. It's in beautiful excellent ++ condition and doesn't appear to have been played with before. Here is a sophisticated, very rare Brownette Bubblecut Barbie doll in her original box with original accessories! This is only the 2nd Brownette Bubble that I've ran across in over 32 years of collecting! I believe these dolls were an experimental early version Bubblecut, and Mattel abandoned this pretty sable mink hair color early on in their production. Maybe it was hard to consistently get this color hair material, or perhaps it was more a marketing decision by Mattel; but regardless these dolls are rare and elegant! This doll has her early version Bubblecut box which is unmarked for hair color, her original zebra striped swimsuit, black Japan mules, fashion booklet, and black wire stand. Though I've pictured her in a OOAK fur coat and Golden Girl sheath with brown mules, those items aren't included in this sale, as they are from my personal collection. I never seen a box marked "Brownette" for hair color; I think Mattel put them all into unspecified early version Bubblecut boxes. This doll has had retouching on her brows and lips, and she looks quite lovely. She doesn't have any green ear stains, neck splits, or nose nips. I've collected vintage Barbie for 30+ years, and I scrutinize items I sell on eBay. If you have a question that my description hasn't answered, please ask me:) You may want to save me as a seller, as I'm selling a large vintage Barbie collection on eBay. This pretty girl has a light complexion that hasn't darkened from smoke or molds. She doesn't have any bad odors. Her medium size bubble has nice firm waves and curls, and it doesn't feel like it was combed out. The hair is in nice condition, and has a nice shine. Barbie's face doesn't look shiny or greasy. She has retouched fire engine red lips and dark eyebrows. She has some original smokey gray eyeshadow. She doesn't have any nose nips, neck splits, or any green ear stains. I've given her pearl on filament earrings, so there is no danger of her getting any staining. Barbie has an early hollow body marked Barbie MCMLVIII Japan on her right butt cheek. Her arms and legs are tight and hold all poses. Her body shows a heavier vinyl in her legs, that is faintly around the thighs and not perfectly smooth, much like the vinyl of #4 Barbies' bodies. This fits with my belief that Brownettes were an early version of Bubblecuts. She has all of her nail polish and no stains or poke marks. Her arms are a shade darker than the rest of her body, with her left arm being a little darker than the right arm, see pics #13-15. I do notice a small dark dot on the back of her left lower arm, see pic #15. Her legs are very slightly pigeon-toed. Her black and white zebra striped swimsuit is in Excellent shape with no holes or tears; there's a faint hint of soil on the left breast (left in the pics), and a little bit of the left leg edge stitching has come undone. The elastic at the suit top still is good. Her black mules are marked Japan on the bottom of 1 shoe, and don't have any splits. The black wire stand is straight with good welds, and no corrosion. The blue Barbie, Ken, and Midge booklet is in Near Mint shape with no writing or tears.The original early version Bubblecut box displays well; the front and side graphics display well, though there is a water stain on the lid's lower right corner, see pics #2, #17-20. Pic #2 overexposes the graphics somewhat; pic #17 shows the front of the box better. The sides of the lid aren't perfectly straight, and bow out a little bit. The bottom short end of the lid says "Stock No. 850 Bubble Cut", and there is a paper peel where the price tag was removed. The lid's top left corner split has been repaired, and the lid's lower right corner had a partial 1" tear that has been glued. The box's bottom has 3 repaired corners and a replaced liner. You will treasure seeing this rare Brownette Bubblecut Barbie in your vintage Barbie collection! These are from the 1960's. The dolls are in good condition. I worked very hard to remove the green ear on the Bubblecut Barbie and I think it looks OK. Some of the clothing could uses a soaking.
