 RARE FIND! Number One Blonde Ponytail Barbie with the Original Early Fashions, Pronged TM Mattel #1 Stand Accessories and Case Little nine year old Alice received the first issue Barbie teenage fashion doll for Christmas in 1959. Mattel’s Barbie had just made her debut at the International Toy show in New York. This is a rare opportunity to own a very special number one Barbie with the original “one owner” childhood collection. It includes many early fashions, complete with the jewelry and accessories This Ponytail Barbie is stunning with her cute upturned nose and signature ponytail. She has dramatic lightning shaped eyebrows and handpainted makeup ; blue side glancing eyes, blue eyeliner, smoky eye shadow, coral red lips, red fingernails and toenails. She’s truly stunning and in remarkable condition for being 64 years old. She is 99% original and retains most of her original factory characteristics This number one blonde ponytail has the extended hairline, which is different from the number threes and later dolls. She is very unusual and rare in that she has two distinctly different hairlines from left to right. Her right side is curved and differs from the straighter hairline on the left. She is wearing her original hairstyle set with the top knot and hard curl at the bottom. The ponytail has been retied with matching colored thread as the band was shot. Her hair is uncut and she has no missing plugs. She has a flocked scalp, silky floss hair in baby chick yellow, full poodle bangs with well defined curls and a cute spit curl on her forehead. Her make up is excellent. as is the the nail and toenail polish. She has all of the correct markings on her bottom; Mattel Barbie TM, 1958 in Roman numerals, pat pending and the number 65. She is marked Japan on the bottom of one foot. Her limbs are nice and tight, but she is able to hold any pose. Her neck moves freely, and there are no issues. She has beautiful and even creamy, pale pinkish ivory body color which is amazing as I e usually sees a in e sort of fading . She has beautiful straight legs with the desired daylight shown only between the thigh and knee , and knee and ankle…A sign of classical beauty with models. She has holes in each of her feet with the original copper tubes present. And she even has her original Mattel TM two prong stand which is very valuable! She has had very minor work done.. a professional restoration to her right pinky and a little touch up to her eyelash ridges. There was also one teeny pinpoint freckle on her left leg just below the knee that has been touched up to match the body color . If you look closely at the photos, you will see how gorgeous this doll is. I have not seen one in original condition that is this outstanding. Barbie has a boyfriend , Ken, who will be listed in a separate listing. Blonde Barbie comes with her original iconic black and white swimsuit, white cat, eyeglasses, black, OT mules with holes. Thankfully her feet do not have any of the staining that is typical with these Barbies. She also has her original gold bangle, hoop earrings! One hole per ear and no green ear! How perfect is this girl?! She is FABULOUS! It was so fun to find Barbie in her original little nest with all the fun boxes and precious accessories that Alice had lovingly kept and preserved. You can tell that this Barbie was truly loved and treasured. Alice did not let other children touch or play with her doll :-)*** This collection would not be complete without a photo of little Alice in December of 1959 around the time that she received this Barbie for Christmas. The photo is included here and a printed copy along with the original provenance of this doll will come with the collection upon request Barbie will come with her original white Ponytail case , dated 1961.  eBay This is about as good as it gets folks…. A more than complete (salesman samples?) set of Mattel Modern Furniture all in original boxes and in the original shipping box. Included are: 1 - Sofa #801, 2 - Easy Chairs #802, 1 - Coffee Table #803, 1 - Side Table w/ Lamp #804, 1 - Dining Table w/ 2 - Chairs #805, 1 - Buffet #806, 1 - Queen Bed #807, 1 - Dresser w/ Mirror #808, 1 - Open Wardrobe #809, 1 - Studio Set - 2 - Daybeds, Corner Table, Lamp #810, 1 - Studio Bed #811 In 1958 Mattel introduced a line of doll furniture for 8" to 10-1/2" dolls called "Mattel Modern Furniture." The pieces were styled after the Danish Modern furniture so popular in the 1950's. The furniture was made in Japan and crafted from wood. Soon after, Mattel Modern Furniture was discontinued and ever since collectors have searched for and coveted these little gems. These highly collectible pieces were produced in Japan in 1958 and modeled after mid-century modern Danish furniture of the period – they are made of real wood and have many original details, as the commercial says the textiles are “real decorator fabric”. This furniture was produced the year before Barbie came on the scene and although many people thought it was designed for Barbie, at 12” tall she and Ken were just too big for it. Later Barbie designed doll-houses and furniture was designed at the appropriate 1/6th scale.Check out the vintage commercial - super cool! Condition: There is some wear to various boxes and a couple of them are drawn on, there is some dried out foam rubber filling loss on some of the cushions, some minor wood separation due to age - at 65 years old, the furniture is in excellent unplayed with condition. I have been collecting modern doll furniture and dollhouses for over 25 years and this is the most complete set I have seen...  Lots of old Barbie, Skipper, Francie, Clone doll clothes, mod fashion doll clothes. Lots of shoes. Not all shoes have matches. These clothes aren’t in perfect shape. A lot need washed. Some need snaps put in. This set is sold as is. It’s very important to look carefully. These will all be in one box. I will protect the clothes so when opened you don’t cut the clothes. Shoes of course will be in bags. I took pictures of all the pieces. The last bag is a extra that I’m sending in case there’s a piece in the bag that needed for a set. Some of the clothes are hand made. I know Barbie collectors will be able to tell which ones are handmade by the pictures. Dolls. All dolls are in good shape and only need cleaned. One of the bubble cut dolls have a pinky missing on one hand. The rest have no missing pieces or rips. Each picture is different except for the Ken clothes. That’s a big pile and I didn’t have any photo room left for this listing. You may see duplicate items in the photos. I have several outfits that are the same. This is a huge lot of items. As for the dolls some of the fingers are missing and some of the heads have tears in the necks. I know one of the heads is Quick Curl Kelley with Steffie face. The brunette heads are from Hair Fair and another one is Growin Pretty Hair Barbie. The hinges on the suitcases are broken and were held together with tape.  The plastic film was cut near Barbie to remove her head for restoration. She had/has the typical green ear. but after the restoration you can still faintly see the green around her ears (IF you look close you can kind of see it in the photo of the side of her head) less than a quarter inch on each ear. Other than that the dolls have never been played with, all accessories are still there. the box is looking a little rough with some staining on the box and one corner is blown out, you can see some old "SALE" stickers. that I decided to leave on because I thought that added to the story. With D-cell batteries (not included), it still does work a little when you turn it on by the stick shift, but a little tab on the tailpipe piece broke off, so it cuts out, because it cannot hold the batteries in tight.  Barbie Coca Cola Soda Fountain, the complete set.The Soda Fountain box had been opened and I removed the pieces to take pictures and to make sure the set was complete.All pieces are present and the set itself looks new. It comes with its shipper. The only thing I can see is a little shelf wear on the box, as shown in the pic.The dolls have never been removed from their boxes- they all look new. The cheer leader has shelf wear on the bottom and side of her box- the pics of this are posted. Ken has a crinkle on the bottom of his box as well- I posted a pic of this.  This theater is from Mattel, Inc., Hawthorne, Calif., stock number 4090. For a cardboard playhouse that is 55 years old it’s in pretty good shape on the outside, but the inside is very good.
