Beautiful Vintage #1 Ponytail Barbie Doll 1959 One Owner OG Stand & Collection!

RARE FIND! Number One Blonde Ponytail Barbie with the Original Early Fashions, Pronged TM Mattel #1 Stand Accessories and Case Little nine year old Alice received the first issue Barbie teenage fashion doll for Christmas in 1959. Mattel’s Barbie had just made her debut at the International Toy show in New York. This is a rare opportunity to own a very special number one Barbie with the original “one owner” childhood collection. It includes many early fashions, complete with the jewelry and accessories This Ponytail Barbie is stunning with her cute upturned nose and signature ponytail. She has dramatic lightning shaped eyebrows and handpainted makeup ; blue side glancing eyes, blue eyeliner, smoky eye shadow, coral red lips, red fingernails and toenails. She’s truly stunning and in remarkable condition for being 64 years old. She is 99% original and retains most of her original factory characteristics This number one blonde ponytail has the extended hairline, which is different from the number threes and later dolls. She is very unusual and rare in that she has two distinctly different hairlines from left to right. Her right side is curved and differs from the straighter hairline on the left. She is wearing her original hairstyle set with the top knot and hard curl at the bottom. The ponytail has been retied with matching colored thread as the band was shot. Her hair is uncut and she has no missing plugs. She has a flocked scalp, silky floss hair in baby chick yellow, full poodle bangs with well defined curls and a cute spit curl on her forehead. Her make up is excellent. as is the the nail and toenail polish. She has all of the correct markings on her bottom; Mattel Barbie TM, 1958 in Roman numerals, pat pending and the number 65. She is marked Japan on the bottom of one foot. Her limbs are nice and tight, but she is able to hold any pose. Her neck moves freely, and there are no issues. She has beautiful and even creamy, pale pinkish ivory body color which is amazing as I e usually sees a in e sort of fading . She has beautiful straight legs with the desired daylight shown only between the thigh and knee , and knee and ankle…A sign of classical beauty with models. She has holes in each of her feet with the original copper tubes present. And she even has her original Mattel TM two prong stand which is very valuable! She has had very minor work done.. a professional restoration to her right pinky and a little touch up to her eyelash ridges. There was also one teeny pinpoint freckle on her left leg just below the knee that has been touched up to match the body color . If you look closely at the photos, you will see how gorgeous this doll is. I have not seen one in original condition that is this outstanding. Barbie has a boyfriend , Ken, who will be listed in a separate listing. Blonde Barbie comes with her original iconic black and white swimsuit, white cat, eyeglasses, black, OT mules with holes. Thankfully her feet do not have any of the staining that is typical with these Barbies. She also has her original gold bangle, hoop earrings! One hole per ear and no green ear! How perfect is this girl?! She is FABULOUS! It was so fun to find Barbie in her original little nest with all the fun boxes and precious accessories that Alice had lovingly kept and preserved. You can tell that this Barbie was truly loved and treasured. Alice did not let other children touch or play with her doll :-)*** This collection would not be complete without a photo of little Alice in December of 1959 around the time that she received this Barbie for Christmas. BARBIE SIDE PART AMERICAN GIRL BRUNETTE TONS OF HAIR in COLOR MAGIC FASHION L@@K

As always, please consider my pictures they are part of my description. I do try to take lots of pictures. Highly close up, macro settings. RARE Barbie Brunette Side Part doll. She comes on a Barbie Midge straight leg body, rather than the traditional bendable leg body. She has LOTS of hair, I did wash gently, and because of the body and the hair I did do a lot of research on this one, according to the books Jean Burger is credited for designing the Side Part Barbie. They required so much more time to root this style. And a few dolls with more densely rooted hair that curls and turns all around have been found in JAPAN and USA. When I "styled" her hair it drove me crazy that it did just that, it curls up if you want, or turns under. Now to her condition, the pictures show that her eyelids need, could use a touch up. I do NOT touch up any of my dolls, afraid. I know it can be done. Her lips are nice pouty pink. I do see a tiny tiny white fleck inside her lip. I actually added some super macro pictures, and they should show possibly the one on the inside is missing paint, and then there is a tiny one on her lower lip. Both look t me like they could have happened while making the doll. Just like someone was in a hurry? Not like someone did that while playing with doll. Her body and face match in skin tone, light, and evenly flesh toned. Hard to see but I noticed some superficial minor scratches on lower leg. Her body and limbs are nice and tight. She has NO GREEN, NO NECK SPLITS, and I do see earring holes, in one picture maybe 2 or 3? She never had nail polish on her toes and only some remains on hands. I did add some green HONG KONG mules to her outfit and noticed that only those very early shoes fit her. Her one foot, in my opinion, is just a tiny bit maybe one millimeter shorter than the other. ???!!! I suspect she might just be one of those '" TRANSITIONAL " Barbies, since Mattel never threw any parts away, you decide, ask away. Please. Her outfit is the original color magic blouse and skirt, in nice but a bit faded, condition, all snaps work fine. I am including the pants, but they are also a bit faded, and are discolored in some area. Fit so well. Shoes fit her perfectly. Almost forgot, she had a yellow and green headband originally, it was in very old shape, I cleaned it and salvaged what I could, tied together, that's what you see in pictures. RARE 1950s Vintage German Bild Lilli Doll -- (Barbie's inspiration)

Vintage, Rare Bild Lilli Doll from mid 1950s GermanyHere's some background on the Lilli doll from Wikipedia:"The Bild Lilli doll was a West German line of fashion doll launched by Greiner & Hausser Gmbh on August 12, 1955, and produced until 1964. Its design was based on the comic-strip character Lilli, created by Reinhard Beuthien for the tabloid newspaper Bild. The doll was made of polystyrene, came in two sizes, and had an available wardrobe of 1950s fashion. The Lilli doll was copied, and altered to some degree, for Mattel upon the direction of that company's co-founder, Ruth Handler. Mattel acquired the rights to Bild Lilli in 1964, and production of the German doll ceased, in favor of Mattel's new vinyl doll, which they called Barbie My father was stationed in Nurnburg from 1955-57 and the whole family got to go along. I was in second grade when we got there and as soon as I saw the Lilli dolls hanging from the rear view mirrors of cars I started begging my mother for one. Eventually I wore her down and I and my three year old sister(!) both got Bild Lilli dolls for Christmas. My sister recently sold her Bild Lilli doll on eBay and has been encouraging me to list mine. I am the best at procrastination but I am finally taking the e-bay plunge from buyer to seller. By the way, I included the last picture because my mother gave me the doll with the tennis dress turned backwards so Lilli's cleavage would not show. I did not realize this fact until I started researching the doll for this listing. I think it is funny and just like something my mother would have done. There is wear on the paint on her eyelashes, shoes, and fingernails. *Some of the later Lilli dolls did not have a front curl but I cut off my Lilli's front curl; if you look closely you can see where it used to be. I don't know for sure but I suspect I cut it because when Barbie came out she did not have one. I apparently was trying to make Lilli a follower instead of the attention seeking woman Beuthien had in mind. Lilli's hair was a ponytail but I had restyled it into a bun to fit the headpiece my mother made for a bridal gown. This evening, after about 50 years in storage, I combed it out and styled it into a braid. There are pictures of both styles. Someone who actually works with dolls could probably take a curling iron and restyle the ponytail. I also feel I must warn you that the doll squeaks when you move her limbs, especially her left arm, but she has been good about letting me dress her, both in the '50s and now in 2023. In separate listings I am offering an authentic German dirndl dress with apron for Lilli and some listings of assorted doll clothing which include many my mother made plus a few Bild Lilli outfits with the PRMY snaps. I also believe the sheer bed jacket in the Lot belonged to Lilli even though it lacks the snaps to prove it. I have assorted little purses and some other miscellany I found in my Barbie case which I am also hoping to sell. Vintage Mattel #3 Blonde Ponytail Barbie w/Original Box, Bathing Suit, Glasses

Vintage #3 Blonde Ponytail Barbie Doll w/Original Swimsuit and Box.I am not the original owner and do not have the full history or know if she has been retouched. She's a beautiful doll in really nice condition overall. I took pictures of her in natural light, so you can get a good idea of her true color. I posted the maximum number of pictures. Please don't hesitate to ask any questions or let me know if you need any more pictures. I am happy to provide them. I want you to be happy with your purchase.She is the solid body that smells like crayons. Barbie markings, including the TM marking on her butt are raised. Bottom of one foot is stamped, Japan. No green ear, nose nips, or neck splits. Eyeliner is considered brown, but faded to a pinky color. Most of her nail polish and toe polish are present. All joints are nice and can hold a pose. Head moves easily. Lips are red. All the lip color looks present. She has red dots in her nostrils. She has a small dent on the inside of her right foot (shown in close-up picture, indicated by arrow). She is in played-with condition, so there is evidence of that, including tiny spots and dings. Please use the zoom feature to see close-up.Her bangs and hair are soft. Ponytail is flat in the back, from laying down in her box. Hair could use restyling. No elastic bands in her ponytail. She is wearing her original black and white swimsuit, black open toe heels, sunglasses and comes with her original booklet and a vintage Barbie black metal stand (not her original pedestal stand). Her bathing suit is quite clean, with no rips or holes noted. It stays up well. Bottom of one heel reads, Japan. No splits noted. Sunglasses are nice. Black metal stand is nice and straight. The booklet looks like all the pages are present. Box is complete, but has wear as shown. Wear includes soiling, old tape, pin holes, splits on both side panels. I was going to tape them, but will leave that up to the discretion of the buyer. The box also has the original Bradlees price sticker.I try to point out any obvious concerns with my vintage items, but I may not always catch things you may see. That's why I take the best close-up pictures I can. Please use the zoom feature for your assessment of condition. I would appreciate you looking at the pictures carefully. This listing is RESERVED for Sharon. Please do not buy this unless YOU ARE SHARON. Up for sale is an amazing vintage Barbie doll lot. This listing is HUGE so bear with me because this description is going to be a long one! PLEASE LOOK CLOSELY AT THE PICTURES. I AM HAPPPY TO PROVIDE MORE PICTURES & ANSWER QUESTIONS UNPON REQUEST. I always do my best to identify and point out flaws, but I am not a Barbie expert, so if you are unsure about something, please contact me before bidding. I always strive for 5 star feedback~ Here we go!This listing includes: 1. Blonde Barbie doll #3. This girl is beautiful! She has evenly faded to an all over soft, creamy white. Her hair is in its original set~ she does have a few flyaways. Her makeup is nice and she has brown eyeliner. She has all her fingers & toes and the red polish on the tips looks nice to me. Barbie has a pinhead size nick on her abdomen, which is circled for you to see. She has what looks to me like a mold seam (its not a crack) under one arm, I have no idea if this is something that’s actually a flaw, but I did circle it for you to view. I see one pin tip size spot on her hip (also circled), and a pin tip spot on the back of one calf (circled). She has a pin head size green ear spots that are easily covered with earrings. 2. Original TM box~ The box is not in the best condition. All the corners on the graphic half of the box have split and have been taped. There is browning on both halves of the box. The graphics also have browning. This box has been around the block, but it doesnt smell weird and its kept Barbie safe for many years! 3. Original pedestal and wire stand~ Marked with an R. There are no chips, but it does have scratches on it. The scratches can be viewed in the pictures. 4. Original TM Roman Holiday #968 outfit~ The set includes a TM coat, dress, belt, purse, glasses, shoes, hankie, and necklace. The set is missing its hat, compact, comb, and eyeglasses case. There are no rips, stains, or holes on the dress and there is no Barbie tag inside the dress. The outer fabric of the coat is free of rips, stains, or holes, but the white stripes aren’t bright white, they’ve yellowed a bit. The coat has all its buttons. I think the stripes would clean up nicely, but I don’t wash my for sale Barbie clothes, so I will leave that choice for her new owner. The red lining is in pretty decent shape for how delicate it is. There some splits on the lining, but they’re not frayed and I personally think its not a bad lining at all. If you would like pictures of the splits, I’m happy to provide them, I just didn’t have the room to include every little detail. The belt is in good condition. It has one hole, the vinyl is still pliable, and it fits Barbie like a glove. The white clutch is in good used condition. The glasses are in good used condition. The shoes are deep navy blue and they’re in good used condition. The hankie is in good condition. The pearl drop necklace appears worn. It just looks old to me. 5. Original TM Nighty Neglige #965 outfit~ This set has a robe and nightgown. The robe has loose hems on the arm cuffs but its in otherwise good shape. The nightgown is in good condition and the elastic has somehow remained stretchy! I cant tell if the bead is missing. I can feel a bead and I can see what looks like a tiny top of a bead, but it’s not an obvious bead (if that makes any sense). The felt dog is in good used condition. 6. Original TM Sweater Girl # 976 outfit~The sweaters and skirt all show wear. The outer sweater doesn’t have any big holes, but there is piling and it looks a bit fuzzy. The inner sweater is missing 1/2 of one snap and theres another snap that 1/2 of it was pulled out of the sweater. There isn’t a hole where it was but you can see the original thread that the snap was sewn on with. It also doesn’t have any big holes but it does have piling and it looks fuzzy. The skirt has two light brownish spots on it, one on the front and one on the back. These look surface to me and I’m pretty sure these would be taken care of with a spot clean. The set comes with its original knitting bowl, book, and scissors.7. Original TM Evening Splendor outfit~The dress is untagged. The zipper runs smoothly. There are a couple of metallic threads that are poking upon the bust line. The coat could use a pressingI see one pin head size spot near the bottom of the lining. Its otherwise in good used condition. 8. Untagged Clone or Homemade outfit~ Extremely cute! I added this one in because Barbie looks so beautiful in it! It comes with a fabric clutch and orange Japan Barbie mules. 9. Original Barbie booklet insert~ The back of the booklet has a hole, tape on the back, and it does not have Gay Parisienne. 10. Original earrings~ They’re unbroken, I’m not sure what else to say about them. 11. Original swimsuit~ It could use a wash to brighten the white stripes, but its otherwise fine. It comes with Barbie’s original black Japan heels and white cat eye sunglasses. This is a unique lot that would be wonderful for a collection! If you have any questions, please contact me.
