Beautiful Vintage #1 Ponytail Barbie Doll 1959 One Owner OG Stand & Collection!
RARE FIND! Number One Blonde Ponytail Barbie with the Original Early Fashions, Pronged TM Mattel #1 Stand Accessories and Case Little nine year old Alice received the first issue Barbie teenage fashion doll for Christmas in 1959. Mattel’s Barbie had just made her debut at the International Toy show in New York. This is a rare opportunity to own a very special number one Barbie with the original “one owner” childhood collection. It includes many early fashions, complete with the jewelry and accessories This Ponytail Barbie is stunning with her cute upturned nose and signature ponytail. She has dramatic lightning shaped eyebrows and handpainted makeup ; blue side glancing eyes, blue eyeliner, smoky eye shadow, coral red lips, red fingernails and toenails. She’s truly stunning and in remarkable condition for being 64 years old. She is 99% original and retains most of her original factory characteristics This number one blonde ponytail has the extended hairline, which is different from the number threes and later dolls. She is very unusual and rare in that she has two distinctly different hairlines from left to right. Her right side is curved and differs from the straighter hairline on the left. She is wearing her original hairstyle set with the top knot and hard curl at the bottom. The ponytail has been retied with matching colored thread as the band was shot. Her hair is uncut and she has no missing plugs. She has a flocked scalp, silky floss hair in baby chick yellow, full poodle bangs with well defined curls and a cute spit curl on her forehead. Her make up is excellent. as is the the nail and toenail polish. She has all of the correct markings on her bottom; Mattel Barbie TM, 1958 in Roman numerals, pat pending and the number 65. She is marked Japan on the bottom of one foot. Her limbs are nice and tight, but she is able to hold any pose. Her neck moves freely, and there are no issues. She has beautiful and even creamy, pale pinkish ivory body color which is amazing as I e usually sees a in e sort of fading . She has beautiful straight legs with the desired daylight shown only between the thigh and knee , and knee and ankle…A sign of classical beauty with models. She has holes in each of her feet with the original copper tubes present. And she even has her original Mattel TM two prong stand which is very valuable! She has had very minor work done.. a professional restoration to her right pinky and a little touch up to her eyelash ridges. There was also one teeny pinpoint freckle on her left leg just below the knee that has been touched up to match the body color . If you look closely at the photos, you will see how gorgeous this doll is. I have not seen one in original condition that is this outstanding. Barbie has a boyfriend , Ken, who will be listed in a separate listing. Blonde Barbie comes with her original iconic black and white swimsuit, white cat, eyeglasses, black, OT mules with holes. Thankfully her feet do not have any of the staining that is typical with these Barbies. She also has her original gold bangle, hoop earrings! One hole per ear and no green ear! How perfect is this girl?! She is FABULOUS! It was so fun to find Barbie in her original little nest with all the fun boxes and precious accessories that Alice had lovingly kept and preserved. You can tell that this Barbie was truly loved and treasured. Alice did not let other children touch or play with her doll :-)*** This collection would not be complete without a photo of little Alice in December of 1959 around the time that she received this Barbie for Christmas. The photo is included here and a printed copy along with the original provenance of this doll will come with the collection upon request Barbie will come with her original white Ponytail case , dated 1961. A couple minor tears at the seams. And her original TM #1 Ponytail fashion booklet along with the second issue with Barbie and Ken in silhouette in the cover . Barbie has many original outfits from 1959, some will be listed separately, as will Ken, so please check my other auctions for these other important items. Items are vintage so they are not mint, but are in good condition considering the age, no major issues or damage. Huge Lot Of 400 pcs Vintage Barbies Collection Series Doll Mattel 1980-2020 READ
Incredible collection of 400 Barbie dolls. All Barbies are in their original boxes and in brand-new condition. On some boxes (about 20-30), the plastic protective part has cracked, and a few boxes are slightly dented, but the dolls inside are new. In some boxes, a few accessories might be missing (e.g., a shoe or a comb). I will provide additional photos upon request.The item has never been taken out of the box as far as I know, I bought this years ago from someone, but since I'm not the original ownerAs I mentioned it has never been played with. The box itself has some marks, fraying around the edges, some creasing and bending of the cardboard. I tried to make it all visible in the pictures. I try to take detailed pictures to ensure that the buyer knows what they are purchasing. Vintage #3 Ponytail Barbie Doll 1959 One Owner Stand Accessories Box 850
eBay Stunning Original 1959 Blonde #3 Ponytail Barbie with Original Swimsuit, Sunglasses Stand Booklet and Case Fresh from a one owner estate comes this beautiful original blonde ponytail Barbie from 1959. Stock model number 850.. the original teenage fashion, model doll! She is the third issue Mattel Barbie and is in wonderful untouched original condition with no touchups. She has her original hard curl on her ponytail, which has been retied with a matching colored thread. She has that beautiful, baby chick, soft blonde floss hair with a flocked scalp. No missing plugs. And a beautiful full array of curly poodle bangs with a Darling spit curl coming down onto her forehead. She has a beautiful face with side, glancing blue eyes and blue eyeliner. This is one of the more rare versions of Ponytail Barbie as the majority of the #3’s had brown eyeliner . In the Barbie Bazaar magazine, there is a reference to some rare transitional number three Barbies, and this is one of those rare Barbies. For the most part she has even pinkish Body color, some very light fading from her waist to her upper torso no doubt from wearing her swimsuit for many years. The third issue dolls were prone to fading almost completely to white so it is nice that this girl has retained a lot of her original color. She is simply stunning . She retains quite a lot of her fingernail polish. Her right pinky has a darkened tip but no damage. Wonderful original make up with some fading to the lips and a little area at the very end of her left eyebrow .This girl is original with NO TOUCH UPS! And she has the heady smell of crayons ;0). No chew marks, holes or other problems to note. One whole per ear. She is on a solid TM body and has clear markings on her bottom. Number 26 on her left bottom cheek, and Barbie TM Patent Pending, 1958 in Roman numerals by Mattel Japan, Marked Japan on bottom of foot. She comes with an original stock 850 box which is in fantastic condition with very vibrant graphics. The Gay Parisienne version. It is one of the best boxes I have ever seen with virtually no fading, it almost looks new. Amazing! . There is one indented end and the date 1959 has been circled but otherwise the boxes fantastic. See pics Stock number 850, 1959 blonde . The graphics are wonderful as it shows all of Barbies early outfits. There is one tiny missing spot to the black coat on Easter Parade. Hi, you are bidding on this vintage stunning #3 Ponytail Barbie brunette and blonde pair of dolls wearing their original swimsuits, JAPAN black open toe shoes, sunglasses and comes with one original booklet that has "Commuter Set" pictured along with original clothes, shoes and accessories shown. Brunette Barbie has a gorgeous face with brown eyeliner, nice face paint and hint of blush still visible. She has no neck splits and no nose nips but has a teensiest faint tinge of green just around left earring hole that is hidden when earrings are in. Her hair is shiny and soft with no cuts and no missing hair plugs. Top band may be original, bottom band was replaced. Hair could use styling. Her original body is in lovely condition with most of her original fingernail and toenail polish. Barbie has a beautiful stance. She's marked, "Barbie T.M. MCMLVIII BY MATTEL, INC." on her bottom and JAPAN is long ways down foot. Her swimsuit displays well and is still stretchy at top. It could use a gentle soak. The JAPAN heels and original sunglasses are in good condition. Blonde Ponytail Barbie has a beautiful face. Her left eyebrow had paint loss so was touched up for display. She has no green ear, no neck splits and no nose nips. Her hair is shiny and soft. There are no missing hair plugs and not sure if it has had the slightest trim or if curls on end of ponytail were just pulled out. Hair will need styling. Her original body has the early pronounced chest/nipples that were later removed due to parent dissatisfaction ;)Body is in nice display condition marked, "Barbie T.M. MCMLVIII BY MATTEL, INC." with most of her original fingernail and toenail polish; JAPAN is written long ways down bottom of right foot. Her original swimsuit is in nice display condition but elastic at top is stretched. Sunglasses and JAPAN shoes are in good display condition. The booklet is nice for display. There was a name written on front that was erased. This booklet has Commuter Set pictured. "Apple Print Sheath #917" dress with original T.M. tag. Dress is in nice display condition. The zipper has some oxidation so is a little "slow" but still works fine and is secure. Also included is the complete Barbie fashion, "Party Date #958". Set includes: dress with gold glitter, gold dimple belt, matching gold dimple clutch purse and clear gold glitter JAPAN marked open toe heels. The dress has aged to more of a champagne color as shown so will need a gentle soak to brighten and remove some light age/storage spotting on bodice. The fabric still feels crisp and still has tons of glitter. The belt and purse are lovely. Shoes have darkened to a champagne color also so match well; they are missing some glitter but still pretty for display. Last is the near complete Barbie fashion, "Sweet Dreams #973" that includes baby doll yellow pajama set with original T.M. tag attached, hair ribbon, apple in original plastic, diary, alarm clock and light blue JAPAN marked open toe heels. The set is in very nice condition with stretchy elastic on bottoms and both bows still attached on bottoms. The ring on hair ribbon was replaced. Accessories are lovely. JAPAN heels are in good condition but the one without pom is not original to set. Shoe boxes, boxes for sunglasses and boxes for other accessories are included as shown along with hangers. BLACK METAL KAISER STANDS ARE INCLUDED. All items are from a pet and smoke free home. Angelic 1960 Vintage Blond Ponytail #3 Barbie
This vintage Barbie doll from 1960 is a must-have for collectors and doll enthusiasts alike. With her blonde hair and ponytail, she is sure to stand out in any collection. She has an angelic look, and a matte finish to her ivory skin. She has the early nippled body all original make up and top knot. Not sure if ponytail has been retied and styled. From what we've been able to discern, the only difference in the actual dolls is an occasional side part - otherwise the dolls and the outfits themselves are standard bubble-cuts or ponytails (mostly always bubble cuts) that could be purchased in the United States. Note that being boxed with earrings, it's difficult to find them without some amount of green ear. The stand, booklet, and boxes have unique characteristics to them. The boxes themselves are standard US sold boxes with an English copyright. The box bottoms will a tariff stamp sticker on the bottom end panel inside edge. The box top will have bottom end panel stickers - a Japanese 10 digit stock number and the outfit stock number that matches the outfit number sold on window cards in the U.S. To date, we have found no difference in the outfits themselves. Note that we've never seen a box without some mold staining issues - our theory for the cause is the Japan sea climate - it seems to be an impossible thing to avoid. The dolls often included a Japan market exclusive booklet (with a Japanese girl playing with her Barbies on the cover). The earliest of these boxes included round #3 style, 2 piece stands with Japan exclusive gold lettering. Later issues would have a standard gold stand. This is an excellent collection from the original owner that was lovingly played with and then carefully stored since the 1960's. Included is a closet of official Barbie outfits (#984 AA Stewardess, #979 Friday Nite Date, #911 Golden Girl, #989 Ballerina, #976 Sweater Girl, and others) with accessories that include a baby (#953 Barbie Baby Sits) and 2 dogs as well as a replacement head and 3 wigs. This is a super rare variation that uses the same fabric that was also used in the Sears Barbie Baby Sits set #7882. I have only found one of these for reference on the internet and it was on Worthpoint, & sold on Ebay in 2011 so I consider this super hard to find.
