RARE NRFP Vintage Mod Era TNT SWEET 16 BARBIE #7796 + Bonus Outfit FREE SHIP BIN
SOLD $499.95 Sold: Aug 25, 2024 on eBayOriginal Listing Description
Maybe you remember this Sweet 16 Barbie from 1974:) This doll was released to celebrate Barbie's 16th birthday, and she had a new, younger looking face mold that did look like a teenager's. As a promotion, the tank top and cut-off shorts outfit was included on the card. Finding this doll in her original packaging is extremely rare. This package has never been opened, and though it shows a few signs of age/edge wear, it looks pretty good for being 50 years old! The clear window hasn't yellowed, and the punch hole for hanging on a display has not been punched out! I don't rate anything as "Mint" unless I have just taken it out of the original packaging. I have collected vintage Barbie for over 30 years, and I scrutinize the items I sell on eBay. If you have a concern that I didn't cover in my description, please ask me a question:). I am selling a large vintage Barbie collection on eBay, so you may want to save me as a seller. As you can see in the main pic, the card is bright and unfaded, and Barbie looks good with her wrist tag on! There were 2 price tags on the upper right corner, and the top one is loose, so you can see the original price. The punch hole at the top left of the card hasn't been punched out. All of the card's corners have a bit of edge wear, but the bottom left corner shows the most wear, with a little curling. The lower right corner has a faint crease. There is a paper peel at the bottom of the card front, to the right of the doll's feet. And I see several small white marks on the card to the left of the printed words "Includes this jeans outfit", see the main pic and pic #2. The plastic bubble window around Barbie is securely sealed. The plastic bubble looks clear still without discoloration or yellowing. Inside the bubble window, Barbie has her wrist tag on, and you can see Barbie's cosmetics case which is mentioned in the sticker on the bubble window, her shoes, scented stickers, and yellow barrettes to snap together. The bubble over the bonus outfit is also sealed tight. I note that there is a small crease at the top of the outfit's bubble window, see pic #3. This is a small crease, and not a puncture. The back of the card tells how to apply Barbie's cosmetics, and has a coupon to send in for Barbie's Surprise Birthday Present, see pic #9. You can see on the back some corner creasing at the lower corners, and at the top left corner. Still, this doll and outfit on the original card is a rarity in wonderful condition! This NRFP Sweet Sixteen Barbie with her Promotional Outfit will look awesome in your vintage doll display! Please see my other auctions for more vintage Mod Era & Superstar Barbie doll and clothing lots, and for other vintage toys from the '50s-'70s. I'm happy to combine shipping charges for multiple purchases:) (Condition: Pre-Owned)
