1969 Sears Fabulous Formal Gift Set #1595This set originally came boxed with a talking Ken doll #1111 and a Barbie Talking Doll #1115. This auction is for the outfits/fashions for Ken and Barbie only, which came in the Giftset.Barbie's #1871 Romantic Ruffles in YELLOW, Ken's #1431 Gurvuy Formal, the only difference being a yellow/mustard colored faille jacket instead of the red jacket.This is a hard-to-find complete ensembleThe dress in this set is a yellow version of #1871 Romantic Ruffles, which was pink.This beautiful yellow dress is excellent and has no issues. The silver bodice has all of its silver thread with no spare areas. The satin salmon/Pink colored accent ribbon at the high waist and its attached flower are perfect. The 5 tiers of silver-flecked yellow net ruffles are completely intact with no holes, split seams, or discoloration. The dress has a yellow satin underdress which is lovely with no issues. Both metal hooks and yellow thread loops are still secure on the back of the dress for closure. The dress carries its un-frayed Barbie tag.The accessories, which compliment this Barbie fashion is a pair of yellow net ruffle earrings and a silver fabric clutch purse with yellow satin lining. Both are in great vintage condition and have no issues. Yellow Pilgrim shoes complete Barbie's attire.Ken's outfit is a variation of #1431 Gurvuy Formal, with the substitution of a yellow/mustard colored faille jacket.Ken's white shirt with silver accent jabot is crisp and clean with the tiny white button and thread loop intact on the back. The Ken white pants in this set are original to this set only and they have both a working YKK zipper and a metal hook for closure ( the thread loop is there and it is pulled out, but there ). No stain and no holes.The red brocade vest with a white satin back is great. It has all of its 3 golden bead accent buttons on the front and its 2 metal snaps on the inside for fastening.Ken's yellow/mustard colored faille jack is wonderful. It is crisp and there are no holes, split seams, or stains. It carries the Ken tag in his fashion, and it is un-frayed. Image 17 of this faille jack appears to have a stain - it is not - it is a shadow.
