#1 Ponytail Barbie #850 1959 One owner, my mother who became a fashion merchandiser and lampshade designer. She loved this doll and it comes with many original partial outfits, detailed below. She even had some outfits handmade for this doll, in 1960, which we're including as part of this dolls story. The doll was purchased in 1959-1960 for my mom when she was eleven by her older sister from Uncle Tom’s Toys (now Tom’s Toys) at 682 Higuera Street in San Luis Obispo, California, and Tom's is still in business. All of the other outfits were also purchased around the same time. Original #850 Zebra Swimsuit outfit:One piece black and white zebra striped swimsuit Includes black open toe heeled shoes with holes, white sunglasses with blue lenses, and her gold tone hoop earrings 1959 Partial Outfits #921 floral petticoat 1959: Petticoat only #969 suburban shopper outfit 1959: Dress, sun hat and very fun Woven bag with fruit. (Aluminum clips on the hat lost their spring, but could be replaced) #961 evening splendor 1959: Gold and White Strapless Brocade Dress, Matching Gold and White Fur trimmed Coat Fur and Pearl Trimmed Headband, Green Corduroy Clutch Purse (White Satin Lining), Does not include: Brown Open Toe Heels, Short White Gloves, Matching earrings, White Hankie, Graduated Pearl Necklace. #972 wedding day 1959: Wedding Dress, veil, wrist corsage, Pearl necklace, Bouquet only. Not included: gloves, thigh corsage. #973 sweet dreams pink 1959: Shorts and Skirt, and Diary. Clock not included. Shorts are stretched out. Her original cardboard box, and booklet is not included. The doll is made of heavy vinyl plastic, partially solid body with excellent original skin tone color. Bottom of right foot marked JAPAN. See images for Barbie mark. Blonde saran ponytail hair & curly bangs. Pointy ^ ^ eyebrows like lightening bolts, side glancing eyes with white irises, and hand painted face. Closed red painted mouth. Brass metal cylinders in feet, that fit onto the stainless pins on the black Bakelite stand which has two chips, with Mattel Deboss. This allows her to stand "on her own feet." Her shoes all have holes which allow the pins to pass through. (Condition: Pre-Owned)

VINTAGE BRUNETTE BARBIE #3 DOLL in VINTAGE GAY PARISIENNE #964 COMPLETE *RARE* VINTAGE BRUNETTE BARBIE #3 DOLL in VINTAGE GAY PARISIENNE #964 COMPLETE *RARE* Description Vintage Brunette Barbie #3 in Original Gay Parisienne #964 Vintage #3 Brunette Barbie Doll from 1960 wearing one of the hardest to find collectible outfits from 1959 - she is ready for her night out in Paris! The Vintage Barbie Gaye Parisienne #964 ensemble was released in 1959. Vintage Barbie Gay Parisienne combined couture design with elegant accessories to create one of the most successful designs of 1959. The dress is a deep blue rayon taffeta bubble dress and is in minty comdition. Same fabric bows trimmed in white adorn the hem in front and the top of the zipper closing in the back. The hat is a matching blue tulle veiled headband. The white satin lined faux fur stole is in great condition. The small gold velvet clutch has a gold bead closure and is lined in white satin. The white gloves, pearl necklace and gold hoop earrings complete the ensemble. This vintage ensemble is rare and hard to find, as it was only produced in 1959. Barbie is also in Excellent condition - she is the #3 Ponytail Barbie but her face has been painted to resemble a #1/#2 Barbie - she has no loose limbs, no cracks. She has faded to a fairly even ivory color and she smells like crayons. She has all her red finger and toe nail polish. Her hair is still in the original ponytail but her bangs are not good and have been styled to match the Paris outfit she is wearing - she still has a curl at the bottom of the ponytail. She has no green ear but holes for earrings are a bit darker. She has green dot on the back of the neck from the necklace clasp and a few indents around the front of her neck where the necklace has been sitting for so long - see pics. Her makeup is nice and bright! Overall this is a Gorgeous doll and she is ready to be a show stopper in your vintage Barbie display. The doll is a Standard with extremely full frosty blonde hair with a thatched side-part. She has an original light blue ribbon headband tied in the back and under her hair. She is dressed in a 1 piece original bathing suit multi-colored striped with turquoise bottom. This is a rare Japanese version with "pink skin " color. 1 missing turquoise shoe. VINTAGE BARBIE #3 PINK SILHOUETTE BOX #961 EVENING SPLENDOR DISPLAY DOLL *RARE* VINTAGE BARBIE #3 PINK SILHOUETTE BOX #961 EVENING SPLENDOR DISPLAY DOLL *RARE* Description Vintage Blonde Barbie #3 in Original Pink Silhouette Display Box dressed in her store display Evening Splendor Outfit Vintage Original #3 Blonde Barbie Doll from 1960 in her original Pink Silhouette Display box & wearing her best #961 Evening Splendor (Splendour) Complete Outfit. This is the very rare first Pink Silhouette box issued by Mattel! These doll sets were sold to stores to display their Barbie clothes. The Vintage Barbie Evening Splendour ensemble was released in 1959. A masterpiece was definitely created when the Golden Girl #911 sheath dress was issued with a matching coat. Made from the same gold and white brocade as the dress, the coat had three-quarter length sleeves trimmed in simulated fur. The coat was also tailored with a contrasting pale blue satin lining to further accessorize every detail. The outfit was topped off with a headband hat adorned with pearls and trimmed in the same brown fur as the coat and brown open toed heels. She also carried her aqua corduroy purse complete with Hanky and had on her best Pearl stud earrings and graduated pearl necklace to complete the outfit. The dress and coat are in near mint condition and they are the Barbie (R) version. The purse still has it's closure. The hanky is a bit yellowed as it was displayed in her hand all these years. Hat still has all of the pearls and is also in nm condition. Shoes are correctly marked. Barbie is all original - she is the rarer barbie that has the nipples - she has no loose limbs, no cracks. She has faded to a fairly even ivory color and she smells like crayons. She has all her red finger and toe nail polish. Her hair is still in the original ponytail but the lower rubber band has been replaced and the upper one is disintigrating - she has lost the curl at the bottom and hair is a bit flat from being in her box all these years! She has no green ear. Overall this is a gorgeous doll. She comes in her original Pink Silhoutte TM box. It has the Dressed doll sticker on the end. It is in overall excellent condition - it has clear tape at the top corners but otherwise nice and crisp and clean - see pics for overall view. EASTER PARADE #971~”R” WITH NEAR MINT 1960’s GORGEOUS BARBIE IN BOX FROM THE ERA
EASTER PARADE #971~”R” (Coat), WITH NEAR MINT 1960 GORGEOUS BARBIE IN ORIGINAL BOX #850 from the era (1959)This is one of the three most desirable outfits from the 900 series. (The others are: Gay Parisienne #964 and Roman Holiday #968). This barbie is the second wave of dolls that were made after 1959, which they were marked 1959 barbie’s had the very heavy blue eyeliner and the eyes were looking to the right, but after a year or so they realized that the plastic in the face was changing the color to a very pale complexion, which made them designed the second wave of dolls, and here it comes this beautiful barbie that is marked “TM” at her buttocks. I sold the first one a few years back and her face was almost ghosty……The apple print polished cotton sheath dress (mint, never placed on a doll before), was combined with a smart black faille unlined Spring coat, with 3/4 length sleeves, (also mint). The back gathered into the yoke and the big patch pockets had self-bow accents. Other accessories were a headband hat that was a simple bow fashioned from silk organza (little fray at the bottom edges), a patent clutch bag (bead has lost luster), graduated “pearl” necklace, matching earrings (discolored with the years, 62 to be exact), short white tricot gloves (excellent, no yellow), and black open-toe pumps with the holes under; left one is marked Japan. I’m including the golden vintage stand, the 1959 booklet “TM” (the only one where this outfit appears, as well as the other two i mentioned above, extremely hard to find and very expensive), I’m also including a reference card with Barbie in this gorgeous outfit.Barbie is beautiful in her blonde ponytail with the curly short bangs, styled by the first designer that the Handlers hired in 1956, (Larry Germaine) after they realize that the Mattel’s staff expertise were not able to handle the art of hair style for Barbie doll. Later others came……. This doll has no flaws, as i show in the pictures, no chewing, no marks; all her limbs move great, nothing is lose, and the finger nails still have some soft nail polish. The bottom of the foot is marked Japan (picture #7). Her hair is not silky (as 63 years ago), but is all there. The box is original from 1959 (as you can read it on picture #13), and it shows some time wear). Picture #12, is the way she appears in the Barbie Fashion first volume from Sarah S. Eames. This items are all from my own collection that my mother started for me, so i know they have been away from the light, in a pet and smoke free environment and in a climate controlled temperature. Vintage Brunette Short Flip TNT Francie Barbie - FACTORY SEALED - RARE BOX -NRFB
This doll is from my personal collection. I have had her for almost 20 years. I purchased this Francie from her original owner who bought her in December 1969. Francie has only had two owners. Francie has been kept in a well ventilated climate controlled environment and away from direct light while she has been in my possession FRANCIE IS MINT. I do not see any pale spots or dark marks or any other imperfections on her. No white plasticizer spots on her face. She is untouched. The only thing to mention about the doll is that her original yellow headband has sprung loose over her head. Her original hair string is still attached FRANCIE IS FACTORY SEALED. The factory cello is 100% present. There is a rub on one bottom corner, and a half-inch tear at that same corner (picture 14). There is one half-inch tear in the cardboard inside the box at the upper arm hole (picture 8). Also, the original owner wrote "Dec. 1969" in blue ink on the oval sticker (picture 9). The wrist tag, x-stand, and booklet are MIB, NRFB, and sealed in the box with Francie.FRANCIE IS IN A RARE BOX. This is a second edition Francie box. This box was only used for a short time before Mattel released the MOD dolls in floral boxes. In pictures 10-15, note that a short Flip Francie is pictured on the ends, sides, and back of the box. (This is different from the more commonly seen blue box which features a long hair blonde TNT Francie.)Short Flip Francie in the green box is very hard to find ... especially one that is still FACTORY SEALED. The veil is perfect without any tears or rips; crisp and spotless.Hard to find gold velvet clutch/purse shows slight fading, beautiful intact white lining, gold metal clasp and gold bead present, fully functional Beautiful very thick real rabbit stole with white satin lining with the original hook and eye shows some minimal 'play'/soiling at hook and eye. There is no Barbie tag in this item as should be. Overall one of the thickest rabbit stoles I have come across. Her hair is uncut with nice plugs and soft texture. I did give the doll a superficial cleaning (soap and water) and washed her hair. I left a curler in her hair as it dried so the curl will not last (I didn't want to risk using heat). Her hair color has a bit of lemony yellow to it that I assume comes from age. Her bangs look great and are soft and springy. She does have pierced ears but no green spots. She does come with her original hoop earrings and striped swimsuit. Her torso is already pale but her face and limbs still have some of the flesh coloring. She has some paint rubs on her eyeline. No broken hands or feet - no chew damage. All of her nails still retain their original red polish. She has an indentation line on her right hip and a fairly flagrant mark on her lower back. All of her joints are nice and tight - no loosey arms or legs. There is a discoloration around her neck - no neck splits. As she is a #3, no holes in the feet although most her fashions come with the shoes with the holes on the bottom. EASTER PARADE #971 - Dress is nice, no issues. Coat shows some faint wrinkling to crepe like fabric but nothing flagrant or damging. Hat is showing some mild fraying on the ribbon tips/ Purse is discolored. Shoes are original and have the hole in the bottom - no cracks or splits. Peachy Fleecy #915- Coat has some discolored spots on the back, otherwise fine. Gloves are also a little discolored and stiff. The hat is a little smooshed but the feather is fine - the pearl has lost its veneer. Shoes are original, no cracks or splits. They also have a hole in the bottom. SWEET DREAMS #973 - Overall nice shape - clock is a bit rusted and I'm not entirely sure the "headband" is anything but a chenille stick but also fine. SWEATER GIRL #976 - Skirt shows a little fading. Both the sweater and the shell blouse shoe some holes in the knit. Sweater is missing (1) button and all of the pearls are missing their veneers. SUBURBAN SHOPPER #969 - Hat shows some discoloration. The ribbon is a little faded. Purse has a loose apple with some paint fade, otherwise fine. Dress is nice, no issue. BUSY GAL #981 - One of the side strings on the portfolio is in a knot. The jacket and the blue body blouse need a steam. Both sketches show some yellowing. Hat has a bit of a curl to it. Overall nice shape. Undergarments #919 - Most all of the elastic bits are relaxed. Bra and full slip see a bit faded. Winter Holiday 975 - The coat and the gloves are stiff. There is a small blue mark on the collar. Vinyl on the shoes is also stiff. Everything else is fine. Evening Splendor #961 - Dress is nice, no issues. Coat has some fading to the inner lining. Both the necklae and the hat are missing pearls. Purse and gloves show some discoloration. Shoes are original, no cracks or splits but they do have the hole in the bottom.Cotton Casual #912 - Ribbons are a bit smooshed, otherwise fine. Comes with (1) original shoe (it also has a hole). Commuter Set #916 - The outfit itself is fine, no issues. It comes with only one glove. Shoes are fine but they are of a later model, no hole. Hat seems a little wild but no damage. Hat box shows a tear and some tape repair, otherwise fine. Bracelt is smooshed. Big selection of same era clone outfits - some carry international tags. Pictures of these clone outfits are on the other/picture listing (above link). They too carry some flaws but overall, most are in good shape. There are perhaps some slight mending to closures or such but nothing is junk. I saw a few spots but nothing is ripped. I threw in the case, rack and some shoes (mostly Taiwan era) to round out the lot. Barbie Vintage Gay Parisienne (1959) #964 - Complete & Beautiful!
This 1959 vintage Barbie ensemble is definitely one of the most desirable, not only for its rarity, but for its beauty and significance in depicting the high style of the 1950s. It was shown only in the 1959 catalog. The dress is a bubble dress fashioned in a deep blue pindot rayon taffeta with accent bows. These bows adorn the hem in front and the top of the zipper closing in the back. The many accessories include a glamorous veiled headband hat in matching blue tulle. A fluffy rabbit fur stole with pink lining, long white tricot gloves and deep blue open toed pumps. No outfit is complete without jewelry and Barbie doll chose a “pearl” look graduated strand necklace with matching earrings and a gold velvet clutch lined in white satin. This is one of three outfits that Mattel made the first year of Barbie (in 1959) that was never replicated or sold again.The tag on the dress is “R” because it was made late in the year. The mink stole has a “TM” tag and pink lining - not white. This is very unusual, because Mattel only made a rabbit stole for this outfit. No idea how the stole had a TM tag and a pink lining, instead of white.The dress is pristine, as is the hat. The mink stole is pure white and has a beautiful pale pink satin. The #1 shoes are a beautiful dark navy with the holes intact - no splits! The white gloves are beautiful and the necklace is just lovely. The earrings have tinged a little, and it looks like some of the white has flaked off (several photos included) Please check the photos and ask any questions before purchase as this vintage item cannot be returned.This comes from a pet free and smoke free home. Vintage Restored Blonde Barbie Number #3 Ponytail blue eyeliner, Apple Sheath
eBay Restored number three ponytail Barbie. She does have some minor flaws, is NOT mint! But displays beautifully. please readHer hair has been restyled back into her original ponytail and curled. Her bangs do have some minor discoloration. See close up. But overall she looks very nice and it’s not noticeable unless you look close. Two hair plugs have been replaced with exact match vintage Barbie hair. She does have two dots of light green at each ear. Earrings cover it nicely. When I got her she had no eyebrows lol. So she’s had her eyebrows redone, and her eyelids and lips and nails touched up. I use only professional artist materials and sealer. She has the rarer blue eyeliner for the number threes. Her body is in good condition. Pretty even color. No major flaws. Japan on one foot. She is wearing my handmade version of a Barbie Pak Sheath dress in reproduction apple print fabric. Back snap closure with vintage snaps. Dress is tagged with Gingers Doll Cottage. Includes matching headband hat, belt, handmade pearl jewelry, black reproduction heels, and a black clutch made from vintage Barbie vinyl. Smoke free home. This is Barbie's RARE 1959 Gay Parisienne nbsp;outfit #964 my Mom purchased for me in 1959.It is in excellent condition.The bubble dress is in a deep blue pin dot rayon taffeta with accent self-bows edged in white. The bows adorn the hemline in front and the top of the zipper in the back. The zipper works perfectly. The 1959 TM trademark tag is attached in the inside of the dress at the top.
