 eBay For your consideration is a beautiful, number one, ponytail Barbie. One owner, who keep this doll in a cedar chest all these years. Her face is one of the most beautiful that I have ever, still retaining all of it's original paint, even on her cheeks! Her hair is in it's original set and looks like the original rubber band. The only flaw that I can see is some discoloration on her feet where she had on shoes. It may come off but I ain't gonna touch it! Both of the metal shafts are present on the holes in her feet but one is shoved up into the hole, please see photos. All paint is present on her nails and toes. All limbs are tight and move well. Her torso even retains some of the original flesh color! Such nice clear crisp markings on her butt and foot. Comes with her original swimsuit and box. Box has one end missing and the other end has splits on the corners, please see photos. Also included are the coat and sheath dress for Evening Splendor. She had on this bra but I am not familiar enough with Barbie to know if it is a Barbie bra or not. It fits perfectly. Also one brown shoe with the hole in it, it is not marked Japan.  This is a vintage 1958 Mattel "Ponytail Barbie " Doll with a zebra swimsuit (just like in the movie!).It is a highly collectible item for any Barbie enthusiast. The doll stands at 11 inches in height, has stunning blue eyes and used to have curly blonde/reddish bangs and straight hair in pony tail (now the hair looks like barbie has bed-head). It belongs to the product line of "Ponytail Barbie". This doll has red lipstick and red painted fingernails and toes. However the paint on the toes is very faded and she is missing the little finger on her right hand. Left butt cheek has a marking of B 57 on it.She has red lipstick and red polish on her nails. There is some nail polish missing on her left toes. The sole of the right foot has a vertical partial Japan stamp. She has a mould mark on her left upper leg/hip area. Blue bathing suit is an original Barbie brand.More pictures on request.  A very HTF set. The doll is beautiful with fantastic hair, especially the bangs. Her original bottom band had replaced before my ownership. The hard curl still is very visible. Beautiful orange lips and and a pink toned eye liner rather than the usual brown. This seems to be a variation that is rarely seen. Beautiful original blush completes the face. Near perfect polish, no green ever, no visible nose nips or visible neck splits. She does have a light mold flaw on her right cheek, I zoomed In on one of the images, do look carefully. She does have some color variation to her face. Probably due to storage and display. I had her in a swimsuit for the last few years and she has lightened during that time. The outfit is excellent with the correct navy shoes. TM stand is excellent, minimal scratches. The box shows wear, bottom has no tape at all. Top box has pretty neatly taped corners. This is still a very good example of a rare box, It's one mot seen often. This will make a fantastic addition to your htf collecting. Please examine all pics and ask questions as dolls unless misrepresented are mon returnable. I have described her as I see her she has all the correct TM butt markings and Japan is longways on her foot. I thought images of the doll and box more important in this instance.  eBay This listing is for a vintage 1960 all original #3 brunette Barbie with rarer blue eyeliner. She is an early #3, with butt marking of "TM Barbie Pats Pend C in circle MCMLVIII by Mattel Inc." Hair is in its original ponytail with top knot and hard curl (band has been replaced). This Barbie is just exquisite, with pristine hair and face paint (no touch ups) and she has 100% of her finger and toenail polish. Beautiful trademark pale, "porcelain" finish on solid body with tight limbs. No green ever. There are some "specks" on her lower back that appear to be embedded in the vinyl (see picture). She comes with her original swimsuit, OT heels and sunglasses, #3 stand (has some surface wear that is quite magnified in photos but definitely not as apparent on display) and a new, custom "pink box fabric" dress. BLOND box with original early, VHTF middle hole T.M. round pedestal, which has two pieces broken off around the edge, and wire stand, early ponytail catalog that includes the Gay Parisienne and Easter Parade outfits in it, early hoop earrings, white glasses, black Japan mules and striped swimsuit. She is in excellent condition; no green ear, neck split, or nose nips. Some of her fingers are crimped. Her lipstick is rubbed on one corner and one eyebrow has a small rub on the end. She has brown eyeliner. Her eyelid ridges were touched up with acrylic. Her butt has the TM marking. She has some light pink/red on areas of her torso/hips area. Her foot has the Japan marking.  This vintage 1960 Barbie doll was a super exciting find for me in the summer of 2001. My 17 year old daughter had been away to Italy for a year as a Rotary Foreign Exchange Student. We missed her immensely and I was searching for a welcome home gift that would mark the special occasion. Being that she grew up playing with Barbies, when I saw this doll at a moving sale I knew I had found THE GIFT. I was stunned at how pristine she was - quickly learning it was because she was deemed "too mature" at the time for a little girl to play with. Her mother had tucked Barbie, box and all, in a closet. Substituting instead a Ginny doll for her daughter to play with. (I bought the Ginny doll too).My daughter was thrilled to tears with the gift, but had grown-up during her year away. She valued the doll as an investment, so once again Barbie was carefully tucked away, this time in a temperature controlled locked safe. Fast forward 20+ years and my daughter has given the go-ahead to sell her super special Barbie. (Her son is excited by Legos.)Ready for her new Best Friend we offer this 1960 vintage #3 (transition #4) Barbie Doll.Original 1960 #3 Barbie with Blue Irises and Brown curved Eyebrows. This is one of the FEW Barbies made with the Brown Eyeliner AND she is from a later in the year issue of a new vinyl plastic formula that would NOT turn a sickly white. (Collectors refer to the tan-toned dolls to be #4.) However this doll has the brown eyeliner making her a RARER 1960 #3 TRANSITION BARBIE!! EXCELLENT COLORING all around on her swimsuit, hair, red accents, cheek blush, sunglasses and box: I believe due to the fact she has been stored in a closet for her first 40 years and a safe the past 23 years.Included with her is The Barbie COTTON CASUAL Dress #912. It has a name and date inked on the inside: Beth 1-7-60. It was purchased with the doll but obviously stored separately thus showing some dust accumulation on the the top of the bodice.This doll comes complete with:Original pair of white and blue black and white swimsuit which still fits like a glove. Minor top lid curving and bubbling of the color design paper pressboard. The bottom inside lid has some discoloration as does the box bottom with a moisture mark near one end. I have left her on the folded cloth napkin as she was found.  Due to a non-payment this stunning blonde Mattel #3 ponytail Barbie doll in early T.M. BLOND box with original T.M. round pedestal and wire stand, early ponytail catalog that includes the Gay Parisienne and Easter Parade outfits in it, early pearl earrings, white glasses, black Japan mules and striped swimsuit is back up for auction. She is in excellent condition; one earring hole has green directly around it but should be able to be removed. Her lip color is intact, but faded to an orange red. She has brown eyeliner. Her eyelid ridges were touched up with acrylic. She has no neck splits, nose nips or chew marks. Her butt has the TM marking, but you have to use a magnifying glass to see it because it is so worn. Her foot has the early Japan square marking. She has a good color. She has nipples.Her hair is very nice and has been washed and reset. The box has an early liner in it. Smoke-free home. She comes with a black pedestal stand, a pair of white sunglasses with blue lenses and a pink wardrobe booklet. Sunglasses are not vintage.  Vintage #3 Blonde Ponytail Barbie Doll w/Original Swimsuit and Box.I am not the original owner and do not have the full history or know if she has been retouched. She's a beautiful doll in really nice condition overall. I took pictures of her in natural light, so you can get a good idea of her true color. I posted the maximum number of pictures. Please don't hesitate to ask any questions or let me know if you need any more pictures. I am happy to provide them. I want you to be happy with your purchase.She is the solid body that smells like crayons. Barbie markings, including the TM marking on her butt are raised. Bottom of one foot is stamped, Japan. No green ear, nose nips, or neck splits. Eyeliner is considered brown, but faded to a pinky color. Most of her nail polish and toe polish are present. All joints are nice and can hold a pose. Head moves easily. Lips are red. All the lip color looks present. She has red dots in her nostrils. She has a small dent on the inside of her right foot (shown in close-up picture, indicated by arrow). She is in played-with condition, so there is evidence of that, including tiny spots and dings. Please use the zoom feature to see close-up.Her bangs and hair are soft. Ponytail is flat in the back, from laying down in her box. Hair could use restyling. No elastic bands in her ponytail. She is wearing her original black and white swimsuit, black open toe heels, sunglasses and comes with her original booklet and a vintage Barbie black metal stand (not her original pedestal stand). Her bathing suit is quite clean, with no rips or holes noted. It stays up well. Bottom of one heel reads, Japan. No splits noted. Sunglasses are nice. Black metal stand is nice and straight. The booklet looks like all the pages are present. Box is complete, but has wear as shown. Wear includes soiling, old tape, pin holes, splits on both side panels. I was going to tape them, but will leave that up to the discretion of the buyer. The box also has the original Bradlees price sticker.I try to point out any obvious concerns with my vintage items, but I may not always catch things you may see.
