#1 Ponytail Barbie #850 1959 One owner, my mother who became a fashion merchandiser and lampshade designer. She loved this doll and it comes with many original partial outfits, detailed below. She even had some outfits handmade for this doll, in 1960, which we're including as part of this dolls story. The doll was purchased in 1959-1960 for my mom when she was eleven by her older sister from Uncle Tom’s Toys (now Tom’s Toys) at 682 Higuera Street in San Luis Obispo, California, and Tom's is still in business. All of the other outfits were also purchased around the same time. Original #850 Zebra Swimsuit outfit:One piece black and white zebra striped swimsuit Includes black open toe heeled shoes with holes, white sunglasses with blue lenses, and her gold tone hoop earrings 1959 Partial Outfits #921 floral petticoat 1959: Petticoat only #969 suburban shopper outfit 1959: Dress, sun hat and very fun Woven bag with fruit. (Aluminum clips on the hat lost their spring, but could be replaced) #961 evening splendor 1959: Gold and White Strapless Brocade Dress, Matching Gold and White Fur trimmed Coat Fur and Pearl Trimmed Headband, Green Corduroy Clutch Purse (White Satin Lining), Does not include: Brown Open Toe Heels, Short White Gloves, Matching earrings, White Hankie, Graduated Pearl Necklace. #972 wedding day 1959: Wedding Dress, veil, wrist corsage, Pearl necklace, Bouquet only. Not included: gloves, thigh corsage. #973 sweet dreams pink 1959: Shorts and Skirt, and Diary. Clock not included. Shorts are stretched out. Her original cardboard box, and booklet is not included. The doll is made of heavy vinyl plastic, partially solid body with excellent original skin tone color. Bottom of right foot marked JAPAN. See images for Barbie mark. Blonde saran ponytail hair & curly bangs. Pointy ^ ^ eyebrows like lightening bolts, side glancing eyes with white irises, and hand painted face. Closed red painted mouth. Brass metal cylinders in feet, that fit onto the stainless pins on the black Bakelite stand which has two chips, with Mattel Deboss. This allows her to stand "on her own feet." Beautiful Vintage #1 Ponytail Barbie Doll 1959 One Owner OG Stand & Collection!
RARE FIND! Number One Blonde Ponytail Barbie with the Original Early Fashions, Pronged TM Mattel #1 Stand Accessories and Case Little nine year old Alice received the first issue Barbie teenage fashion doll for Christmas in 1959. Mattel’s Barbie had just made her debut at the International Toy show in New York. This is a rare opportunity to own a very special number one Barbie with the original “one owner” childhood collection. It includes many early fashions, complete with the jewelry and accessories This Ponytail Barbie is stunning with her cute upturned nose and signature ponytail. She has dramatic lightning shaped eyebrows and handpainted makeup ; blue side glancing eyes, blue eyeliner, smoky eye shadow, coral red lips, red fingernails and toenails. She’s truly stunning and in remarkable condition for being 64 years old. She is 99% original and retains most of her original factory characteristics This number one blonde ponytail has the extended hairline, which is different from the number threes and later dolls. She is very unusual and rare in that she has two distinctly different hairlines from left to right. Her right side is curved and differs from the straighter hairline on the left. She is wearing her original hairstyle set with the top knot and hard curl at the bottom. The ponytail has been retied with matching colored thread as the band was shot. Her hair is uncut and she has no missing plugs. She has a flocked scalp, silky floss hair in baby chick yellow, full poodle bangs with well defined curls and a cute spit curl on her forehead. Her make up is excellent. as is the the nail and toenail polish. She has all of the correct markings on her bottom; Mattel Barbie TM, 1958 in Roman numerals, pat pending and the number 65. She is marked Japan on the bottom of one foot. Her limbs are nice and tight, but she is able to hold any pose. Her neck moves freely, and there are no issues. She has beautiful and even creamy, pale pinkish ivory body color which is amazing as I e usually sees a in e sort of fading . She has beautiful straight legs with the desired daylight shown only between the thigh and knee , and knee and ankle…A sign of classical beauty with models. She has holes in each of her feet with the original copper tubes present. And she even has her original Mattel TM two prong stand which is very valuable! She has had very minor work done.. a professional restoration to her right pinky and a little touch up to her eyelash ridges. There was also one teeny pinpoint freckle on her left leg just below the knee that has been touched up to match the body color . If you look closely at the photos, you will see how gorgeous this doll is. I have not seen one in original condition that is this outstanding. Barbie has a boyfriend , Ken, who will be listed in a separate listing. Blonde Barbie comes with her original iconic black and white swimsuit, white cat, eyeglasses, black, OT mules with holes. Thankfully her feet do not have any of the staining that is typical with these Barbies. She also has her original gold bangle, hoop earrings! One hole per ear and no green ear! How perfect is this girl?! She is FABULOUS! It was so fun to find Barbie in her original little nest with all the fun boxes and precious accessories that Alice had lovingly kept and preserved. You can tell that this Barbie was truly loved and treasured. VTG WORLD OF BARBIE FASHIONS STORE DISPLAY, STACEY, PJ, MOD BARBIE, 4 DOLLS 1970
eBay Up for auction is a vintage Barbie store display, which is dated 1970. This "World of Barbie Fashion Boutique" set is an estate find that is incredibly rare! It includes four dolls: two mod Barbie dolls, a Stacey doll, and a PJ doll. Stacey is wearing a pink negligee set with poodle slippers but the other three dolls are wearing mod fashions. From left to right, the first doll is wearing a yellow pant suit set with yellow high heels, the second is wearing a multi-colored abstract patterned mini dress with green high heels, and the PJ doll is wearing an outfit that epitomizes the 1960s and early 70s: an orange mini dress with plaid skirt and matching orange coat and plaid scarf, with yellow boots. All of the dolls are in new condition, with all original outfits and wrist tags. Each silver tag is marked with the name of the doll on one side and "Made in Japan" on the other. They are charmingly posed in their original store display which is in excellent condition. The blonde Stacey doll has shifted position over the years so that she is partially blocking one of the Barbie dolls, but she seems to be stable at this point. The store display does show some wear, including dents in the plastic, which can be popped out a bit but tend to want to return to their dented state. There are no holes in the plastic though. There is a small area with adhesive residue (probably from a sticker that was removed at some point) on the front and slight slits in the plastic on the top and bottom of the display. There is mild wear to the cardboard in places. I took lots of pictures so please view all of the pictures carefully as they are part of the description. There are no unpleasant odors.This is a must have for the serious Barbie collector!Thank you for looking at my auction. VINTAGE BRUNETTE BARBIE #3 DOLL in VINTAGE GAY PARISIENNE #964 COMPLETE *RARE* VINTAGE BRUNETTE BARBIE #3 DOLL in VINTAGE GAY PARISIENNE #964 COMPLETE *RARE* Description Vintage Brunette Barbie #3 in Original Gay Parisienne #964 Vintage #3 Brunette Barbie Doll from 1960 wearing one of the hardest to find collectible outfits from 1959 - she is ready for her night out in Paris! The Vintage Barbie Gaye Parisienne #964 ensemble was released in 1959. Vintage Barbie Gay Parisienne combined couture design with elegant accessories to create one of the most successful designs of 1959. The dress is a deep blue rayon taffeta bubble dress and is in minty comdition. Same fabric bows trimmed in white adorn the hem in front and the top of the zipper closing in the back. The hat is a matching blue tulle veiled headband. The white satin lined faux fur stole is in great condition. The small gold velvet clutch has a gold bead closure and is lined in white satin. The white gloves, pearl necklace and gold hoop earrings complete the ensemble. This vintage ensemble is rare and hard to find, as it was only produced in 1959. Barbie is also in Excellent condition - she is the #3 Ponytail Barbie but her face has been painted to resemble a #1/#2 Barbie - she has no loose limbs, no cracks. She has faded to a fairly even ivory color and she smells like crayons. She has all her red finger and toe nail polish. Her hair is still in the original ponytail but her bangs are not good and have been styled to match the Paris outfit she is wearing - she still has a curl at the bottom of the ponytail. She has no green ear but holes for earrings are a bit darker. She has green dot on the back of the neck from the necklace clasp and a few indents around the front of her neck where the necklace has been sitting for so long - see pics. Her makeup is nice and bright! Overall this is a Gorgeous doll and she is ready to be a show stopper in your vintage Barbie display. eBay RARE EARLY #2 1960 Mattel Barbie Ponytail Doll. ALL ORIGINAL FACE PAINT...HAIR.. Hello everyone...here is a beautiful rare and early Mattel Ponytail Barbie Doll. She is in need of a trip to the spa... She was well loved by some little girl long ago as she has signs of play. Her rooted hair was in a mess when I got her, and I've never had her restored. I just coiled her long hair and tied it up at the back of her head....... She has gorgeous arched eyebrows, beautiful painted eyes with white irises, heavy black eyeliner all around, and dark blue eye shadow. She is missing some paint on the eye lash ridge...Her lips are bright orange red with a touch of paint missing from top lip...her face paint looks all original... There's no nose nips or neck splits. She has earring holes with no earrings.. Body is in very good condition, needs a cleaning, and is faded to a pale ivory color as the very early dolls do....no swingy joints. There are a couple small dark green stain spots on the back torso by lettering and a pink marker stain on her one leg...she has all fingers and toes with red nail polish intact. Her markings on right buttocks Barbie TM PATS PEND MCXLVIII by MATTEL Inc..the number 22 on her left buttock..JAPAN on one foot She will come with the beautiful Original Mattel Barbie dress, head piece, gloves, and brown heeled sandals. This is a vintage 1958 Mattel "Ponytail Barbie " Doll with a zebra swimsuit (just like in the movie!).It is a highly collectible item for any Barbie enthusiast. The doll stands at 11 inches in height, has stunning blue eyes and used to have curly blonde/reddish bangs and straight hair in pony tail (now the hair looks like barbie has bed-head). It belongs to the product line of "Ponytail Barbie". This doll has red lipstick and red painted fingernails and toes. However the paint on the toes is very faded and she is missing the little finger on her right hand. 1960 Vintage #3 Blond Ponytail Barbie, Brown Eyeliner, w/Extras, Original Owner
My treasure is your great find with this early Mattel number 3 Barbie!This all original vintage #3 Blond Ponytail Barbie with blue eyes and brown eyeliner has been safely stored for more than 60 years. I am the original owner. As a child, I was very careful with my Barbie and she is in excellent vintage condition. She was gently handled and well cared for. Always in a smoke free home. She comes with the original zebra striped bathing suit, black mules and white sunglasses which are missing one arm. Although Barbie is the real find here... she also comes with eleven outfits and the storage trunk box she has rested in for decades. Most of the clothes are in excellent condition but missing a few accessories as you can see in the photos. There are also some rare items like a blue bubble dress and Barbie's tiny vinyl record, titled, "No Thank You."Her face paint, lipstick, delicate cheek blush, nail polish, and toenail polish are all 100% original with no touch ups, rubs, or missing paint! Her soft shiny hair is beautiful with poodle bangs and the original top knot. The original hair band on her pony tail broke while I was photographing her so I replaced it. She has all of her original hair with no missing plugs or cut pieces.She has JAPAN lengthwise on the bottom of her right foot. And an "O" is slightly visible on her other foot where I wrote my initial. She has some discoloration on one foot from the shoe.Her solid body is clean. She has all her fingers and toes. Her neck and torso have faded slightly to a lighter ivory color. The Mattel marking is clear on her tush but she has some discoloration on her right cheek. (See photo)Her left leg doesn't move and I didn't want to force it. But her right leg, arms and head move as they should with tight joints. She has a tiny pin point speck of green behind each earing which is barely visible. VINTAGE BARBIE #3 PINK SILHOUETTE BOX #961 EVENING SPLENDOR DISPLAY DOLL *RARE* VINTAGE BARBIE #3 PINK SILHOUETTE BOX #961 EVENING SPLENDOR DISPLAY DOLL *RARE* Description Vintage Blonde Barbie #3 in Original Pink Silhouette Display Box dressed in her store display Evening Splendor Outfit Vintage Original #3 Blonde Barbie Doll from 1960 in her original Pink Silhouette Display box & wearing her best #961 Evening Splendor (Splendour) Complete Outfit. This is the very rare first Pink Silhouette box issued by Mattel! These doll sets were sold to stores to display their Barbie clothes. The Vintage Barbie Evening Splendour ensemble was released in 1959. A masterpiece was definitely created when the Golden Girl #911 sheath dress was issued with a matching coat. Made from the same gold and white brocade as the dress, the coat had three-quarter length sleeves trimmed in simulated fur. The coat was also tailored with a contrasting pale blue satin lining to further accessorize every detail. The outfit was topped off with a headband hat adorned with pearls and trimmed in the same brown fur as the coat and brown open toed heels. She also carried her aqua corduroy purse complete with Hanky and had on her best Pearl stud earrings and graduated pearl necklace to complete the outfit. The dress and coat are in near mint condition and they are the Barbie (R) version. The purse still has it's closure. The hanky is a bit yellowed as it was displayed in her hand all these years. Hat still has all of the pearls and is also in nm condition. Shoes are correctly marked. Barbie is all original - she is the rarer barbie that has the nipples - she has no loose limbs, no cracks. She has faded to a fairly even ivory color and she smells like crayons. She has all her red finger and toe nail polish. Her hair is still in the original ponytail but the lower rubber band has been replaced and the upper one is disintigrating - she has lost the curl at the bottom and hair is a bit flat from being in her box all these years! She has no green ear. Overall this is a gorgeous doll. She comes in her original Pink Silhoutte TM box. It has the Dressed doll sticker on the end. It is in overall excellent condition - it has clear tape at the top corners but otherwise nice and crisp and clean - see pics for overall view. Vtg 60's Barbie - American Girl Ponytails Francie Bubblecut Midge +32 Outfits
Offering for your consideration is a wonderful, very large vintage collection of Barbie, Francie and Midge dolls. There is an American Girl, two ponytails (I think a #5 and #6), an early Bubble Cut, Francie and Midge dolls. I'm including 26 vintage Barbie outfits and six vintage Francie doll outfits. A total of 22 of the 32 outfits are complete and there are NO reproductions in this auction!Please note: I purchased this lot in 2013 from two sisters who are lifelong friends of mine. Everything has been played with, however the items have always been very well taken care of and loved. I'll give a complete description below. I know it is very long, but I think when you buy an auction, the more you know the better it is, and I want you to be really happy with your purchase! The American Girl, Francie and Midge don't even have earring holes. All dolls have blonde hair in various shades. There are NO neck splits, missing fingers or toes, and NO nose nips or damage to eyelash ridges. They are very clean, no musty or smoking odors. Each doll will have her correct swimsuit and heels when she arrives.American Girl - very nice condition. Great hair and makeup is still good, lip color is peachy. Body markings are correct. Knees click three times and and hold three times. Nail polish is very good, there is some missing. Does not look like she ever had toe polish. Right leg has a very small space between leg and body. Left leg has two tiny indents on the calf. Please see picture, it is the one with Francie's mark on her thigh.First Ponytail - Original topknot, I can barely see rubber band, it has almost disappeared. She has pretty hair, it is not braided, she does have some flyaways. Lower rubber band missing. I think she is a #5, has Barbie only body. Winning bidder may prefer to have this dolls face paint restored as it is faded or gone completely and paint is missing on one eye. She is the oldest doll in collection also. Nail polish is still good, toe polish is missing on a few of her toes. Right arm is swingy when down, will hold a pose however. Right ankle turns in a tiny bit.Second Ponytail - Original topknot, rubber band on top knot is mostly gone. Great looking bangs, ponytail is braided, some flyaways. No lower rubber band, I added the ribbon. Not sure if braid is factory. I'm pretty sure she is a #6, has Midge - Barbie body. Face paint is pretty, faded on lips and eyebrows. Super tiny dot on chin, this is hard to see. Nail polish is good, I see no toe polish. Right leg is a tad shorter. Right foot has super tiny mark on side of little toe. Nice body.Francie - Excellent doll. Has eyelashes, very pretty face, straight waist. Hair is pretty, long, with a nice curl. Knees click times three, hold times two. Correct markings on bottom. I don't think she ever had nail or toe polish. Tiny blue mark on side of left thigh (please see picture). I can see the beginning of a faint split on the top of her left foot too.Bubble Cut - Excellent condition, Barbie only body. Very pretty hair, her makeup is super nice, her lips are fab! Slightly greasy face. Nail polish is faint, I see no toe polish. Great body, slight swing to right arm when down.Midge - Excellent condition, has Midge - Barbie body. Pretty face paint, hair is curled, few flyaways. Both her nail and toe polish is very good.OutfitsSummary- I've shown the dolls wearing some of the outfits and tried to show all outfits in the pictures. All the zippers work and are YKK. The snaps are present. One side of the snap is coming off the Plantation Belle slip. Most Barbie R tags are present, some are frayed. Note: There is no tag on the Dancing Doll dress, however I'm sure it is vintage. There are NO seam tears, hems coming out, or major stains. Some of the white material in the clothes is a little cream colored. I'll list the complete outfits first, and any issues I'll point out as best I can on all the outfits. If you have questions, please email. If the outfit has open toe heels, they are marked Japan on the left, no splits on any. The outfits with the cork wedgies have them too. Closed toe heels are included if the outfit is supposed to have them, unless I state otherwise.There are three pictures where I have tried to show the issues that I'll point out in the descriptions below. There are some HTF or VHTF accessories included in this auction and I've also included a picture of some of these items.Complete Outfits -1. American Airline Stewardess - Excellent+ condition.2. Busy Gal - includes VHTF Navy Blue Open Toe heels. This outfit is in Excellent Condition.3. Career Girl - beautiful condition, hat is cool!4. Club Meeting - Looks unplayed with!5. Dancing Doll - no tag on dress. Everything is in wonderful condition!6. Dinner at Eight - Beautiful condition. Both cork sandals have splits on their bottom, but the splits are hard to see.7. Friday Night Date - Very pretty classic Barbie outfit, HTF straws are included8. Garden Party - still very pretty.9. Lunchtime - there were no shoes with this outfit. HTF Tea kettle works, so does toaster. Toast is here too! Pans and toaster have a few light marks/rubs. The belt has a small indent hear the end, but no hole.10. Movie Date - great condition.11. Open Road - This was a favorite outfit of the sisters. No toggles on coat. Red chiffon on scarf has several small holes and a very tiny stain on brim. HTF wedgies are in great shape, however there is glue on one of the cork sandals where the strap was repaired. (Please see pictures)12. Peachy Fleecy - In great condition. There is hardly any of the feather left on the hat.13. Plantation Belle - this was a favorite outfit too. There is no jewelry. Slip has frayed ribbon and snap hanging by a thread. Hat has one band that is bent.14. Picnic Set - HTF fish is not cracked, has a couple of minor rubs on each side. Fishing pole has line and sinker. Will display well! The hat is so fun! Cork wedgies are awesome. Favorite outfit!15. Resort Set - Great condition, has the original HTF bracelet. Cork wedgies are very nice.16. Senior Prom - The gown is in Excellent condition. No pearls on shoes. Please see picture17. Sheath with Gold Buttons, RUST color with mini white dots. Super condition.18. Spectator Sport - has VHTF belt! Has gold dimpled purse and I'm including the VHTF striped knit purse and Mustard Color Open Toe heels.19. Suburban Shopper - has original HTF drop pearl necklace. One of the fruits in the purse is split, just a little on top, not the entire piece of fruit. Hat bands are a bit bent. Super classic vintage Barbie outfit.20. Theatre Date - no hat version21. Winter Holiday - jacket is still soft and flexible. Has super HTF belt. Cork wedgies are awesome!Incomplete Barbie Outfits1. Crisp 'n Cool - no gloves2. Registered Nurse - Everything here is in excellent + condition. Includes VHTF Medicine Bottle and Spoon. No hot water bottle.3. Lame Sheath - has gold dimpled purse, no navy blue shoes.4. Sorority Meeting - Original Graduated pearl necklace included (see picture). Outfit in super condition. There are very small holes on left and right side of sweater near the front shoulders. They are fairly hard to see! I'm sure these were made by doll fingers. No earrings.5. Swingin' Easy - Beautiful condition, sash is a forest green color. No drop pearl necklace. Francie OutfitsComplete1. Checkmates - Beautiful and favorite outfit of sisters! Thread loop on skirt is missing, skirt will stay on doll once blouse and jacket are on.Incomplete Francie Outfits1. Clam Diggers - no shoes or glasses. One gold button on jacket has lost color.2. First Formal - no shoes. Bodice of gown has tiny pinhead size hole. (Please see picture)3. Go Granny Go - No record or record sleeve. Tiny spot on side of shoe.4. Satin Happenin' - very nice, lacy overblouse is pretty. Very tiny, pinhead size dark dot near hem of left pant leg in front. Please see the picture. No shoes. 5. Tuckered Out - Super cute! No hair brush or extra curlers.Nine Fashion Booklets that came with the outfits are included. Some have writing, staining and frayed edges or tears.NO PLASTIC Clear X STANDS ARE INCLUDED!
