Barbie Vintage Mattel Modern Furniture 1958 Japan w/ Boxes - RARE w/shipping box
eBay This is about as good as it gets folks…. A more than complete (salesman samples?) set of Mattel Modern Furniture all in original boxes and in the original shipping box. Included are: 1 - Sofa #801, 2 - Easy Chairs #802, 1 - Coffee Table #803, 1 - Side Table w/ Lamp #804, 1 - Dining Table w/ 2 - Chairs #805, 1 - Buffet #806, 1 - Queen Bed #807, 1 - Dresser w/ Mirror #808, 1 - Open Wardrobe #809, 1 - Studio Set - 2 - Daybeds, Corner Table, Lamp #810, 1 - Studio Bed #811 In 1958 Mattel introduced a line of doll furniture for 8" to 10-1/2" dolls called "Mattel Modern Furniture." The pieces were styled after the Danish Modern furniture so popular in the 1950's. The furniture was made in Japan and crafted from wood. Soon after, Mattel Modern Furniture was discontinued and ever since collectors have searched for and coveted these little gems. These highly collectible pieces were produced in Japan in 1958 and modeled after mid-century modern Danish furniture of the period – they are made of real wood and have many original details, as the commercial says the textiles are “real decorator fabric”. This furniture was produced the year before Barbie came on the scene and although many people thought it was designed for Barbie, at 12” tall she and Ken were just too big for it. Later Barbie designed doll-houses and furniture was designed at the appropriate 1/6th scale.Check out the vintage commercial - super cool! Condition: There is some wear to various boxes and a couple of them are drawn on, there is some dried out foam rubber filling loss on some of the cushions, some minor wood separation due to age - at 65 years old, the furniture is in excellent unplayed with condition. I have been collecting modern doll furniture and dollhouses for over 25 years and this is the most complete set I have seen... In 1964 Mattel produced Barbie’s first piece of real estate, her “Dream House”. Made of heavy duty cardboard, this one room house was a perfect space for Barbie to relax! This was the case until Mattel produced Barbie’s NEW Dream House the same year! Barbie’s space received some MAJOR upgrades! This New Dream House features an outdoor patio, complete with a hedge fence, grill, and windchimes! Enter through the sliding glass door, and you are met with the most charming interior! She has many extra changeable earrings, mostly unused (see photos, and original instructions for changing her earrings). This doll is Mattel model # B5766, suitable for age 5+. She also comes with her white sweater which I forgot to include in the photos.I’ve tried to show pictures of everything including the hotel room, balcony area, opening door, canopy bed with all bedding and swags, hotel pool, room service cart, check-in stand, patio furniture, couch, many small accessories, and original see pictures for condition etc... You get all that's shown 1. Hotel Room with Barbie-size doorways (door on hinges swings open) and refrigerator with door that opens/closes, pretend TV & stereo & phone2. Canopy hotel bed with bedding including pink “silky fabric comforter” blanket, 2 matching pillows, and 2 white canopy swags. The box set comes with both a large Barbie-sized white plastic bed which is included, plus also a smaller cardboard box-like display bed which I preferred to use instead since it fits the hotel room better. You get both beds, so you can choose ! (see photos). There is scratch on the bigger plastic bed but it's concealed when you put the comforter on bed anyway.3. Being at the ultimate Hawaiian Hotel is the best Summer. Christie and I checked in at the front desk and they gave us flower leis and lots of alohas. Then we went up to our room. Wow! We’ve got a private balcony – in Hawaii they call it a lanai – with a view of the ocean and the pool. The canopy bed is so cool and there’s lots of room for lounging. For dinner we’re going to order room service – there’s a menu on the bed. We’ll probably stay up late talking and laughing so I’m glad the mini fridge is fully stocked in case we get hungry again. And they left “mints"on our pillows for sweet dreams. How cool is that ? Christie can’t wait to swim in the pool, but Summer just wants to hang out and catch some rays – with sunscreen of course. Vintage 1960s Barbie Mod LOT Stacey, Hair Fair Original Clothes Case Accessories
Vintage Barbie Mod Lot includes a Hair Fair Barbie, 1 Blonde Stacey and 1 Titian Stacey. All are on TNT bodies. There are 32 pieces total. All Black Tag outfits are original and are in good to excellent condition. These dolls have no nose nips, green ear, neck splits, missing fingers or toes. Only the Titian Stacey has earring holes. All dolls knees click at least twice and hold, some hold three. Both Stacey dolls have gorgeous eyelashes. The Hair Fair still has eyelashes but they are short and she does have a few green spots on her legs. See photos. The Stacey dolls are very, very nice. World of Barbie Fashions Book 1 Included. Vintage 1960s Barbie Mod LOT Hair Fair, TNTs, Original Clothes- Gorgeous Lot
Vintage Barbie Lot includes 3 dolls - Hair Fair head on a Midge/Barbie body, a TNT and a Marlo Flip TNT. The Floating Gardens red cape has a small thin area and one small tiny pin hole. See photo. The rest of the outfit is near perfect. The red heels included are Japan. The Print APlenty dress does have a small hole in back at the top and a loose seam at bottom of zipper. These clothes are beautiful and are in nice to excellent condition. There are 34 pieces total. The dolls have no green ear, neck splits, missing digits or nose nips. All three have nice eyelashes and all knees click twice. All clothes are Mattel black tagged and are vintage original. Case is included and is clean and in pretty nice condition. A pack of 10 Barbie trading cards and a booklet are included. The yellow purse is clone. The blue closed toe heels are repro. The jewelry and gold chain belt is newly made. Tammy's Ideal House - Vintage 1963 Folding Cardboard Dollhouse - Barbie's Rival
This doll house was played with lots and lots! It shows signs of wear around edges and corners consistent with being well loved. While not all of the original pieces survived, most of them have. Some pieces have weaker joints due to aging and being bent. But the truth is that the child owner tried to perform good maintenance on the house. The proof is that there are occasional remnants of vintage cellophane tape to reinforce problem areas and replacement cereal box cardboard for slots that became too weak. When folded, the house measures approximately 27 inches x 15 inches x 10 inches and weighs about 8 lbs.No dolls are included. The Ideal company made this house for their doll “Tammy”. It was their response to Mattel's “Barbie” and her "Dream House". "Tammy" was about the same height as “Barbie” and they could easily live in each other's houses. Unlike Barbie, the Tammy doll was shaped and made to look more like a real teenager while Barbie had a more unrealistic sexy adult body. Tammy’s clothes were as well made as Barbie’s but they were slightly larger. Tammy could not wear Barbie’s clothes, but Barbie could wear Tammy’s clothes quite well, sometimes without any modification. Sometimes a rubber band used to pull in the waist worked wonders. Regrettably, "Tammy" lost the fashion doll competition. One hopes the next “Barbie” movie will remember this history.Please look at all the pictures of the house and the furniture to assess its condition. It has no mildew odors. It is being sold as is for the original owner who always lived in a smoke free home. She wants to find a new home for the house where it will be out of the closet bringing joy to a new owner!
