Beautiful Vintage #1 Ponytail Barbie Doll 1959 One Owner OG Stand & Collection!
RARE FIND! Number One Blonde Ponytail Barbie with the Original Early Fashions, Pronged TM Mattel #1 Stand Accessories and Case Little nine year old Alice received the first issue Barbie teenage fashion doll for Christmas in 1959. Mattel’s Barbie had just made her debut at the International Toy show in New York. This is a rare opportunity to own a very special number one Barbie with the original “one owner” childhood collection. It includes many early fashions, complete with the jewelry and accessories This Ponytail Barbie is stunning with her cute upturned nose and signature ponytail. She has dramatic lightning shaped eyebrows and handpainted makeup ; blue side glancing eyes, blue eyeliner, smoky eye shadow, coral red lips, red fingernails and toenails. She’s truly stunning and in remarkable condition for being 64 years old. She is 99% original and retains most of her original factory characteristics This number one blonde ponytail has the extended hairline, which is different from the number threes and later dolls. She is very unusual and rare in that she has two distinctly different hairlines from left to right. Her right side is curved and differs from the straighter hairline on the left. She is wearing her original hairstyle set with the top knot and hard curl at the bottom. The ponytail has been retied with matching colored thread as the band was shot. Her hair is uncut and she has no missing plugs. She has a flocked scalp, silky floss hair in baby chick yellow, full poodle bangs with well defined curls and a cute spit curl on her forehead. Her make up is excellent. as is the the nail and toenail polish. She has all of the correct markings on her bottom; Mattel Barbie TM, 1958 in Roman numerals, pat pending and the number 65. She is marked Japan on the bottom of one foot. Her limbs are nice and tight, but she is able to hold any pose. Her neck moves freely, and there are no issues. She has beautiful and even creamy, pale pinkish ivory body color which is amazing as I e usually sees a in e sort of fading . She has beautiful straight legs with the desired daylight shown only between the thigh and knee , and knee and ankle…A sign of classical beauty with models. She has holes in each of her feet with the original copper tubes present. And she even has her original Mattel TM two prong stand which is very valuable! She has had very minor work done.. a professional restoration to her right pinky and a little touch up to her eyelash ridges. There was also one teeny pinpoint freckle on her left leg just below the knee that has been touched up to match the body color . If you look closely at the photos, you will see how gorgeous this doll is. I have not seen one in original condition that is this outstanding. Barbie has a boyfriend , Ken, who will be listed in a separate listing. Blonde Barbie comes with her original iconic black and white swimsuit, white cat, eyeglasses, black, OT mules with holes. Thankfully her feet do not have any of the staining that is typical with these Barbies. She also has her original gold bangle, hoop earrings! One hole per ear and no green ear! How perfect is this girl?! She is FABULOUS! It was so fun to find Barbie in her original little nest with all the fun boxes and precious accessories that Alice had lovingly kept and preserved. You can tell that this Barbie was truly loved and treasured. Alice did not let other children touch or play with her doll :-)*** This collection would not be complete without a photo of little Alice in December of 1959 around the time that she received this Barbie for Christmas. The photo is included here and a printed copy along with the original provenance of this doll will come with the collection upon request Barbie will come with her original white Ponytail case , dated 1961. A couple minor tears at the seams. And her original TM #1 Ponytail fashion booklet along with the second issue with Barbie and Ken in silhouette in the cover . 1960 Vintage #3 Blond Ponytail Barbie, Brown Eyeliner, w/Extras, Original Owner
My treasure is your great find with this early Mattel number 3 Barbie!This all original vintage #3 Blond Ponytail Barbie with blue eyes and brown eyeliner has been safely stored for more than 60 years. I am the original owner. As a child, I was very careful with my Barbie and she is in excellent vintage condition. She was gently handled and well cared for. Always in a smoke free home. She comes with the original zebra striped bathing suit, black mules and white sunglasses which are missing one arm. Although Barbie is the real find here... she also comes with eleven outfits and the storage trunk box she has rested in for decades. Most of the clothes are in excellent condition but missing a few accessories as you can see in the photos. There are also some rare items like a blue bubble dress and Barbie's tiny vinyl record, titled, "No Thank You."Her face paint, lipstick, delicate cheek blush, nail polish, and toenail polish are all 100% original with no touch ups, rubs, or missing paint! Her soft shiny hair is beautiful with poodle bangs and the original top knot. The original hair band on her pony tail broke while I was photographing her so I replaced it. She has all of her original hair with no missing plugs or cut pieces.She has JAPAN lengthwise on the bottom of her right foot. And an "O" is slightly visible on her other foot where I wrote my initial. She has some discoloration on one foot from the shoe.Her solid body is clean. She has all her fingers and toes. Her neck and torso have faded slightly to a lighter ivory color. The Mattel marking is clear on her tush but she has some discoloration on her right cheek. (See photo)Her left leg doesn't move and I didn't want to force it. But her right leg, arms and head move as they should with tight joints. She has a tiny pin point speck of green behind each earing which is barely visible. (See photo)Barbie's clothing outfits are all original from about 1960 and include the Nighty Negligee, Sweater Girl, Suburban Shopper, Registered Nurse, Resort Set, Picnic Set, Golden Girl, Peachy-Fleece Coat, Plantation Bell, American Airlines Stewardess and Solo in the Spotlight. VINTAGE BARBIE #3 PINK SILHOUETTE BOX #961 EVENING SPLENDOR DISPLAY DOLL *RARE* VINTAGE BARBIE #3 PINK SILHOUETTE BOX #961 EVENING SPLENDOR DISPLAY DOLL *RARE* Description Vintage Blonde Barbie #3 in Original Pink Silhouette Display Box dressed in her store display Evening Splendor Outfit Vintage Original #3 Blonde Barbie Doll from 1960 in her original Pink Silhouette Display box & wearing her best #961 Evening Splendor (Splendour) Complete Outfit. This is the very rare first Pink Silhouette box issued by Mattel! These doll sets were sold to stores to display their Barbie clothes. The Vintage Barbie Evening Splendour ensemble was released in 1959. A masterpiece was definitely created when the Golden Girl #911 sheath dress was issued with a matching coat. Made from the same gold and white brocade as the dress, the coat had three-quarter length sleeves trimmed in simulated fur. The coat was also tailored with a contrasting pale blue satin lining to further accessorize every detail. The outfit was topped off with a headband hat adorned with pearls and trimmed in the same brown fur as the coat and brown open toed heels. She also carried her aqua corduroy purse complete with Hanky and had on her best Pearl stud earrings and graduated pearl necklace to complete the outfit. The dress and coat are in near mint condition and they are the Barbie (R) version. The purse still has it's closure. The hanky is a bit yellowed as it was displayed in her hand all these years. Hat still has all of the pearls and is also in nm condition. Shoes are correctly marked. Barbie is all original - she is the rarer barbie that has the nipples - she has no loose limbs, no cracks. She has faded to a fairly even ivory color and she smells like crayons. She has all her red finger and toe nail polish. Her hair is still in the original ponytail but the lower rubber band has been replaced and the upper one is disintigrating - she has lost the curl at the bottom and hair is a bit flat from being in her box all these years! She has no green ear. Overall this is a gorgeous doll. She comes in her original Pink Silhoutte TM box. It has the Dressed doll sticker on the end. It is in overall excellent condition - it has clear tape at the top corners but otherwise nice and crisp and clean - see pics for overall view. As for the dolls some of the fingers are missing and some of the heads have tears in the necks. I know one of the heads is Quick Curl Kelley with Steffie face. The brunette heads are from Hair Fair and another one is Growin Pretty Hair Barbie. The hinges on the suitcases are broken and were held together with tape. Vintage Japan 1960 Barbie Doll TM Ponytail #3 Blonde Original Makeup And Hair This doll is in beautiful condition for its age. Her hair and makeup is original and looks amazing. I gently washed her hair to try to keep the original ponytail intact. I was able to comb through and remove all the original rubber band pieces. Her hair is soft and combed through. She has no green in her ear holes at all. Her right arm does appear more dull in texture compared to her left arm. It is not noticeable unless you are feeling to compare. I personally cleaned this doll with dish soap spray, warm water, and a soft scrubbing sponge. She will come wearing her Enchanted Evening gown, white fur shawl, white open toed heels, and golden hoop earrings. The display stand is not included. Please view all pictures carefully as they are the most accurate description of the item. Please let me know if you have any questions regarding the item. If there are doubles it's because I probably got them as a gift when I already had them, as Barbie stuff was the prefect gifts at the time. There is one outfit Sweater Girl that has a gray skirt and orange knit top that comes with knitting bowl and scissors...see the picture, now, please note I have two of these outfits, one is shown on a close up picture so don't think you're getting three outfits, just two that are shown together and the one has a broken scissors and I included the broken off piece if someone is handy and wants to glue it but there is included a pair of scissors that are not broken as well. I am also including reproduction clothes hangers, a bag of Barbie shoes and a bag of Jewelry as you can see in the pictures. All Ken clothing in pictures as shown, some have doubles...Note Ken's bathrobe has slippers and even has the bar of soap!!!! Some of the Ken shoes may be reproductions, I don't know..there is a possibility you may run across a pair or pants or shirt that is not Mattel made as my mothers friend made some clothes for my dolls now and then but you will know this as it would not have the Ken tag..I think all the pieces are original Ken but can't remember after 60+ years.
