The shoes have splits and the hair is no longer in the factory ponytail. The box has 2 corner splits and has some fading, box bottom has writing on it. The dress has a loose strap and a snap that is coming unstitched.Doll fingernail polish is very nice and 100% original.The facial paint is also near mint and 100% original.Very nice rare Barbie that would be a welcome addition to any collection. Beautiful Vintage #1 Ponytail Barbie Doll 1959 One Owner OG Stand & Collection!
RARE FIND! Number One Blonde Ponytail Barbie with the Original Early Fashions, Pronged TM Mattel #1 Stand Accessories and Case Little nine year old Alice received the first issue Barbie teenage fashion doll for Christmas in 1959. Mattel’s Barbie had just made her debut at the International Toy show in New York. This is a rare opportunity to own a very special number one Barbie with the original “one owner” childhood collection. It includes many early fashions, complete with the jewelry and accessories This Ponytail Barbie is stunning with her cute upturned nose and signature ponytail. She has dramatic lightning shaped eyebrows and handpainted makeup ; blue side glancing eyes, blue eyeliner, smoky eye shadow, coral red lips, red fingernails and toenails. She’s truly stunning and in remarkable condition for being 64 years old. She is 99% original and retains most of her original factory characteristics This number one blonde ponytail has the extended hairline, which is different from the number threes and later dolls. She is very unusual and rare in that she has two distinctly different hairlines from left to right. Her right side is curved and differs from the straighter hairline on the left. She is wearing her original hairstyle set with the top knot and hard curl at the bottom. The ponytail has been retied with matching colored thread as the band was shot. Her hair is uncut and she has no missing plugs. She has a flocked scalp, silky floss hair in baby chick yellow, full poodle bangs with well defined curls and a cute spit curl on her forehead. Her make up is excellent. as is the the nail and toenail polish. She has all of the correct markings on her bottom; Mattel Barbie TM, 1958 in Roman numerals, pat pending and the number 65. She is marked Japan on the bottom of one foot. Her limbs are nice and tight, but she is able to hold any pose. Her neck moves freely, and there are no issues. She has beautiful and even creamy, pale pinkish ivory body color which is amazing as I e usually sees a in e sort of fading . She has beautiful straight legs with the desired daylight shown only between the thigh and knee , and knee and ankle…A sign of classical beauty with models. She has holes in each of her feet with the original copper tubes present. And she even has her original Mattel TM two prong stand which is very valuable! She has had very minor work done.. a professional restoration to her right pinky and a little touch up to her eyelash ridges. There was also one teeny pinpoint freckle on her left leg just below the knee that has been touched up to match the body color . If you look closely at the photos, you will see how gorgeous this doll is. I have not seen one in original condition that is this outstanding. Barbie has a boyfriend , Ken, who will be listed in a separate listing. Blonde Barbie comes with her original iconic black and white swimsuit, white cat, eyeglasses, black, OT mules with holes. Thankfully her feet do not have any of the staining that is typical with these Barbies. She also has her original gold bangle, hoop earrings! One hole per ear and no green ear! How perfect is this girl?! She is FABULOUS! It was so fun to find Barbie in her original little nest with all the fun boxes and precious accessories that Alice had lovingly kept and preserved. You can tell that this Barbie was truly loved and treasured. Alice did not let other children touch or play with her doll :-)*** This collection would not be complete without a photo of little Alice in December of 1959 around the time that she received this Barbie for Christmas. The photo is included here and a printed copy along with the original provenance of this doll will come with the collection upon request Barbie will come with her original white Ponytail case , dated 1961. A couple minor tears at the seams. And her original TM #1 Ponytail fashion booklet along with the second issue with Barbie and Ken in silhouette in the cover . Original Vintage Rare #1 Blonde Ponytail Barbie Doll w/TM Box, Liner & Clothing
This is a rare #1 ponytail barbie with blonde hair. Her solid and heavy body smells like crayons. Her body in great condition, great stance. She has even coloring and the proper copper tubes in her feet. Her limbs are nice and tight, nothing loose. She still has some nail polish, but unfortunately shes missing one of her pinkies. Easy to mask with a pair of gloves. Her feet are stained from her shoes too. Face paint is stunning, so amazing on these first dolls! Only one set of earring holes, no earrings. No missing hair plugs, but her hair needs to be reset, definitely. Still has the flocking on top and her hair doesn't appear to be cut. She has kind of dent on one side of her forehead, it's not a pin poke, there is no hole, probably just something was pressing into her while she was stored. The previous owner estimated she had been stored away for at least 40 years. She was wearing the tm commuter set outfit when I bought her. And the tm apple print sheath was in the box looking like new. The commuter set is also in good condition. No original bathing suit or stand was with her. And the booklet is an R. Both pair of shoes with her are #1 shoes, but neither go to these outfits. This is all there was with her. She does have a really nice tm box, very bright, one corner is split on the box top and one corner on the box bottom. She has the hard to find neck liner still too! The back of it is so sweet. It looks like the original owner had all her friends sign the box. I'm selling her as found, I didn't even clean her, I'm too afraid of messing something up so I'm selling her as i found her. She's a pretty doll, i dont think it will take much to get her ready for display. So that's what I noticed to mention please email me if you have other questions. The jewel of this collection an ALL ORIGINAL 1959 Barbie #2. Seems complete. Ear rings are nice, no green ear. Makeup is nice. Hair is lovely. This was VERY well cared for and passed down three generations. Fingers and feet are lovely as well as toe and finger nail paint. Body is SOLID. Pale. Vintage Number One 1 Blond Ponytail Barbie Doll Lot 1960s
This is a vintage lot featuring the iconic Number One 1 Blonde Ponytail Barbie. The doll was bought from the original owner, and has been well-played with over the years. The unit of sale is the entire lot, which includes the Barbie doll, dress, black heels with holes ( one has a split), original white sunglasses, original earrings, and original swimsuit. This doll was really loved! Her hair is thin from lots of brushing. Her left eyelash was chipped so I touched it up black. Her makeup is all original (beside tiny touch up I talked about) . Her lips are fabulous! She has some fading and body discoloration. Please look at pictures. Her toenails and fingernails have original red paint that has some paint rubs. One earring hole per ear. As a collector's item, this Barbie is highly sought-after for her classic look and historical significance in the world of dolls. 1959 VINTAGE #2 PONYTAIL BARBIE DOLL *Not Played With” Orig. Hair/ No Green Ear
I wish I could say this doll is new….I honestly don’t think she was ever played with. I bought her along with her mint condition/not played with 1960’s wardrobe & a few other dolls. She had been dressed in the 1961 airline stewardess outfit. I believe that is why she has some subtle blue marks on her lower legs & her back. *She has no green ear at all*I don’t think her hair was ever brushed either. The top pony wrap is perfect and the lower rubber band is still in her hair. I think some hair accidentally came out of the ponytail when I was trying to take the wire hat off her head. I took pics of her feet & buttucks markings with my magnifying app. I still can not see a date on her buttocks, but I believe it is there (just naturally worn down from age). She has no visible cracks on her body. The only issue I see is the discoloration from the blue clothing. I will list her mint condition 1960’s clothing & accessories daily…as I get free time :)Please email me any questions. From my research, I believe she is a #2 blonde ponytail Barbie from 1959. This is a stunning vintage 1959 #1, first issue Barbie doll. The quintessential blonde ponytail Barbie. This doll is hand painted with all original hand painted face paint, finger and toe nails. Only the first #1 Barbie dolls were hand painted thereafter they were painted using stencils. Her hair is all original and has a tight top knot and tight curl in the ponytail. Her curly bangs are all original and beautiful. Her skin tone is mostly an even pale pink ivory. The metal tubes in her legs are intact and in mint condition She has her original vintage black and white stripe swim suit.
