Barbie #1 Ponytail- Fabulous . SPECIAL OFFER
This is the One and Only Iconic #1 Ponytail Barbie, “born” on March 9, 1959. She is fabulous with a soft blonde ponytail that looks like it has the original tie.The curl at bottom of the ponytail has been cinched into a tight curl, held in place with some small amount of product. (See pictures.)Her bangs have what appears to be two rows of tiny original curls,No nose nips or neck splits. No strange smells. No spots or marks.Her torso and arms enjoy uniformly peach tones. No fading of the ivory skin color, of her torso. Her face is a tiny bit paler, hardly noticeable.As with most of the earliest Barbies, she has a faded, light reddish gray stain across the tops of her feet from wearing her early black heels for 60 years.Her lip paint is perfect, no rubs.She also has a wonderful, hard-to-find “nipple” body.She also has the metal rods in her feet. VINTAGE BRUNETTE BARBIE #3 DOLL in VINTAGE GAY PARISIENNE #964 COMPLETE *RARE* VINTAGE BRUNETTE BARBIE #3 DOLL in VINTAGE GAY PARISIENNE #964 COMPLETE *RARE* Description Vintage Brunette Barbie #3 in Original Gay Parisienne #964 Vintage #3 Brunette Barbie Doll from 1960 wearing one of the hardest to find collectible outfits from 1959 - she is ready for her night out in Paris! The Vintage Barbie Gaye Parisienne #964 ensemble was released in 1959. Vintage Barbie Gay Parisienne combined couture design with elegant accessories to create one of the most successful designs of 1959. The dress is a deep blue rayon taffeta bubble dress and is in minty comdition. Same fabric bows trimmed in white adorn the hem in front and the top of the zipper closing in the back. The hat is a matching blue tulle veiled headband. The white satin lined faux fur stole is in great condition. The small gold velvet clutch has a gold bead closure and is lined in white satin. The white gloves, pearl necklace and gold hoop earrings complete the ensemble. This vintage ensemble is rare and hard to find, as it was only produced in 1959. Barbie is also in Excellent condition - she is the #3 Ponytail Barbie but her face has been painted to resemble a #1/#2 Barbie - she has no loose limbs, no cracks. She has faded to a fairly even ivory color and she smells like crayons. She has all her red finger and toe nail polish. Her hair is still in the original ponytail but her bangs are not good and have been styled to match the Paris outfit she is wearing - she still has a curl at the bottom of the ponytail. She has no green ear but holes for earrings are a bit darker. She has green dot on the back of the neck from the necklace clasp and a few indents around the front of her neck where the necklace has been sitting for so long - see pics. Her makeup is nice and bright! Overall this is a Gorgeous doll and she is ready to be a show stopper in your vintage Barbie display. This is a vintage 1958 Mattel "Ponytail Barbie " Doll with a zebra swimsuit (just like in the movie!).It is a highly collectible item for any Barbie enthusiast. The doll stands at 11 inches in height, has stunning blue eyes and used to have curly blonde/reddish bangs and straight hair in pony tail (now the hair looks like barbie has bed-head). It belongs to the product line of "Ponytail Barbie". This doll has red lipstick and red painted fingernails and toes. However the paint on the toes is very faded and she is missing the little finger on her right hand. Then my mother read an article about how much this Barbie may be worth so she put her safely in storage and bought us cheaper Barbies to play with ?. The 1958 Ponytail Zebra Swimsuit Barbie has been safely tucked away in my mother's closet from the 1980s until now. Condition and Cleaning: There is no green discoloring at the ear holes, her nose is intact. I cleaned her with water, elbow grease and a few drops of dawn. See updated photos. RARE 1950s Vintage German Bild Lilli Doll -- (Barbie's inspiration)
Vintage, Rare Bild Lilli Doll from mid 1950s GermanyHere's some background on the Lilli doll from Wikipedia:"The Bild Lilli doll was a West German line of fashion doll launched by Greiner & Hausser Gmbh on August 12, 1955, and produced until 1964. Its design was based on the comic-strip character Lilli, created by Reinhard Beuthien for the tabloid newspaper Bild. The doll was made of polystyrene, came in two sizes, and had an available wardrobe of 1950s fashion. The Lilli doll was copied, and altered to some degree, for Mattel upon the direction of that company's co-founder, Ruth Handler. Mattel acquired the rights to Bild Lilli in 1964, and production of the German doll ceased, in favor of Mattel's new vinyl doll, which they called Barbie My father was stationed in Nurnburg from 1955-57 and the whole family got to go along. I was in second grade when we got there and as soon as I saw the Lilli dolls hanging from the rear view mirrors of cars I started begging my mother for one. Eventually I wore her down and I and my three year old sister(!) both got Bild Lilli dolls for Christmas. My sister recently sold her Bild Lilli doll on eBay and has been encouraging me to list mine. I am the best at procrastination but I am finally taking the e-bay plunge from buyer to seller. By the way, I included the last picture because my mother gave me the doll with the tennis dress turned backwards so Lilli's cleavage would not show. I did not realize this fact until I started researching the doll for this listing. I think it is funny and just like something my mother would have done. Some Stats which I copied from my sister's listing:Made of plastic polystyreneMolded eyelashes, earrings and shoes (not removeable)Hand painted face, unsealedSide glancing eyes, high narrow arched eyebrowsRed full bow lips, red fingernail paint (like Barbie #1 and #2)Limbs attached by rubber bands Holes in each foot/molded shoe (stand, not included) None of the dolls were marked.Blonde mohair type hair, no forehead curl.* Condition:I was more of a tomboy than a doll connoisseur but, as you can probably tell, I did play with this doll. There is wear on the paint on her eyelashes, shoes, and fingernails. *Some of the later Lilli dolls did not have a front curl but I cut off my Lilli's front curl; if you look closely you can see where it used to be. I don't know for sure but I suspect I cut it because when Barbie came out she did not have one. I apparently was trying to make Lilli a follower instead of the attention seeking woman Beuthien had in mind. Lilli's hair was a ponytail but I had restyled it into a bun to fit the headpiece my mother made for a bridal gown. This evening, after about 50 years in storage, I combed it out and styled it into a braid. There are pictures of both styles. Someone who actually works with dolls could probably take a curling iron and restyle the ponytail. I also feel I must warn you that the doll squeaks when you move her limbs, especially her left arm, but she has been good about letting me dress her, both in the '50s and now in 2023. In separate listings I am offering an authentic German dirndl dress with apron for Lilli and some listings of assorted doll clothing which include many my mother made plus a few Bild Lilli outfits with the PRMY snaps. I also believe the sheer bed jacket in the Lot belonged to Lilli even though it lacks the snaps to prove it. I have assorted little purses and some other miscellany I found in my Barbie case which I am also hoping to sell. I hope you will look for my other listings which also include a 1961 Titian Bouffant Barbie, a mid '50s Madame Alexander Cissette doll, and, eventually, some collectible dolls my mother mistakenly thought might get the tomboy out of me.I will be requiring insurance for this listing. Vintage 1966 Mattel Side-Part American Girl Barbie Doll
Incredibly nice vintage 1966 Mattel blonde American Girl Barbie. She comes with an original AG box, gold wire stand, catalog, turquoise Japan heels and original striped swimsuit. Her body is in near mint condition; both knees click 3 times, there are no pin pricks, chew marks or swingy limbs. Her fingernail polish is still nice. Her head is nice, as well. She has no green ear, earring holes, neck splits, nose nips or damage. I touched up her eyelid ridges with acrylic. Her hair is shiny and curly. She has a couple of thinner plugs, but for the most part her hair is thick and lovely. The ribbon is vintage Color Magic Girl ribbon but was too short so I sewed a piece to the underneath in order to make it fit. The box is in good condition. Overall, this is a highly collectible set. This is a Used Pre-owned Vintage Lot of Original 1960s Barbie dolls, TM black label clothing sets, double doll cases and other related Barbie items. Many of these early Barbie items are valuable and very collectible. Included are 6 early Barbie, Ken & Allan dolls, 25 Barbie ensembles and 13 Ken outfits. Items included are everything shown in the pictures, except stands. Original packaging is not included. The items in this lot are pre-owned, used, and gently played with They come from my personal collection and a non-smoking environment. Condition of most of the items included is good to excellent, though some may have slight flaws, such as loose threads. Most items contain original TM black tag labels.
