#1 Ponytail Barbie #850 1959 One owner, my mother who became a fashion merchandiser and lampshade designer. She loved this doll and it comes with many original partial outfits, detailed below. She even had some outfits handmade for this doll, in 1960, which we're including as part of this dolls story. The doll was purchased in 1959-1960 for my mom when she was eleven by her older sister from Uncle Tom’s Toys (now Tom’s Toys) at 682 Higuera Street in San Luis Obispo, California, and Tom's is still in business. All of the other outfits were also purchased around the same time. Original #850 Zebra Swimsuit outfit:One piece black and white zebra striped swimsuit Includes black open toe heeled shoes with holes, white sunglasses with blue lenses, and her gold tone hoop earrings 1959 Partial Outfits #921 floral petticoat 1959: Petticoat only #969 suburban shopper outfit 1959: Dress, sun hat and very fun Woven bag with fruit. (Aluminum clips on the hat lost their spring, but could be replaced) #961 evening splendor 1959: Gold and White Strapless Brocade Dress, Matching Gold and White Fur trimmed Coat Fur and Pearl Trimmed Headband, Green Corduroy Clutch Purse (White Satin Lining), Does not include: Brown Open Toe Heels, Short White Gloves, Matching earrings, White Hankie, Graduated Pearl Necklace. #972 wedding day 1959: Wedding Dress, veil, wrist corsage, Pearl necklace, Bouquet only. Not included: gloves, thigh corsage. #973 sweet dreams pink 1959: Shorts and Skirt, and Diary. Clock not included. Shorts are stretched out. Her original cardboard box, and booklet is not included. The doll is made of heavy vinyl plastic, partially solid body with excellent original skin tone color. Bottom of right foot marked JAPAN. See images for Barbie mark. Blonde saran ponytail hair & curly bangs. Pointy ^ ^ eyebrows like lightening bolts, side glancing eyes with white irises, and hand painted face. Closed red painted mouth. Brass metal cylinders in feet, that fit onto the stainless pins on the black Bakelite stand which has two chips, with Mattel Deboss. This allows her to stand "on her own feet." Her shoes all have holes which allow the pins to pass through. (Condition: Pre-Owned)

Vintage #1 Blonde Ponytail Barbie Doll 1958 Mattel Japan, Stunning! PLEASE READ!A very gorgeous and rare doll. Please see photos for condition, which is very good overall. Note that she has a small chip on her left foot (big toe).A very small rub on each of her eyelids.Note that her left lower leg is a bit tilted inwards.Some light scratches on the sides of her face.Her makeup is all original. Vintage VHTF #1 Blonde Ponytail Barbie Doll Zebra Suit Sunglasses Shoes 1959
Relisting this beauty after another cancellation. Serious offers only, please. Amazing Vintage Original #1 Blonde Barbie Doll No. 850 from 1959 wearing her original zebra stripe swimming suit & gold hoop earrings. She comes with her original cat eye sunglasses and black mules with holes She has all her blonde hair with no missing plugs in it's original factory ponytail. Her bangs look beautiful and curly. The ends of her pony seems to be fused together a bit. I didn't try to brush it out. She has her original hand painted face paint which is gorgeous. She has the arched #1 brows. No neck splits and no green ear. Her body is in excellent condition. It’s the correct solid TM body with the holes in her feet. It does look like the metal rods are sticking out a little from her foot bed and one has what looks like the prong of a #1 stand broken off inside the hole. She has faded to a fairly even ivory color. No loose limbs. She has all her red nail polish with little to no rubbing. She's marked Barbie on her bottom but the TM molding is a bit hard to see. She's also marked JAPAN crosswise in a "little rectangle" on her right foot. She does have some purple marks on her feet from wearing her shoes for many years. Please take a look at the photos. She is wearing her original zebra stripe swimming suit. No holes, stains or odors. Just some minor age related wear. She comes with her original blue lens sunglasses and #1 black mule shoes with holes in the bottoms. Since the pipes in her feet are sticking out a little, I had to work the shoes off...and now they don't really want to go back on. I'll let you decide how to proceed. The shoes themselves have no splits and the left is marked Japan on the bottom. I feel like they are more purply black after having leeched color into Barbie's feet all these years (oh my) and have some minor scratches on the foot beds from me taking them off. Beautiful Vintage #1 Ponytail Barbie Doll 1959 One Owner OG Stand & Collection!
RARE FIND! Number One Blonde Ponytail Barbie with the Original Early Fashions, Pronged TM Mattel #1 Stand Accessories and Case Little nine year old Alice received the first issue Barbie teenage fashion doll for Christmas in 1959. Mattel’s Barbie had just made her debut at the International Toy show in New York. This is a rare opportunity to own a very special number one Barbie with the original “one owner” childhood collection. It includes many early fashions, complete with the jewelry and accessories This Ponytail Barbie is stunning with her cute upturned nose and signature ponytail. She has dramatic lightning shaped eyebrows and handpainted makeup ; blue side glancing eyes, blue eyeliner, smoky eye shadow, coral red lips, red fingernails and toenails. She’s truly stunning and in remarkable condition for being 64 years old. She is 99% original and retains most of her original factory characteristics This number one blonde ponytail has the extended hairline, which is different from the number threes and later dolls. She is very unusual and rare in that she has two distinctly different hairlines from left to right. Her right side is curved and differs from the straighter hairline on the left. She is wearing her original hairstyle set with the top knot and hard curl at the bottom. The ponytail has been retied with matching colored thread as the band was shot. Her hair is uncut and she has no missing plugs. She has a flocked scalp, silky floss hair in baby chick yellow, full poodle bangs with well defined curls and a cute spit curl on her forehead. Her make up is excellent. as is the the nail and toenail polish. She has all of the correct markings on her bottom; Mattel Barbie TM, 1958 in Roman numerals, pat pending and the number 65. She is marked Japan on the bottom of one foot. Her limbs are nice and tight, but she is able to hold any pose. Her neck moves freely, and there are no issues. She has beautiful and even creamy, pale pinkish ivory body color which is amazing as I e usually sees a in e sort of fading . She has beautiful straight legs with the desired daylight shown only between the thigh and knee , and knee and ankle…A sign of classical beauty with models. She has holes in each of her feet with the original copper tubes present. And she even has her original Mattel TM two prong stand which is very valuable! She has had very minor work done.. a professional restoration to her right pinky and a little touch up to her eyelash ridges. There was also one teeny pinpoint freckle on her left leg just below the knee that has been touched up to match the body color . If you look closely at the photos, you will see how gorgeous this doll is. I have not seen one in original condition that is this outstanding. Barbie has a boyfriend , Ken, who will be listed in a separate listing. Blonde Barbie comes with her original iconic black and white swimsuit, white cat, eyeglasses, black, OT mules with holes. Thankfully her feet do not have any of the staining that is typical with these Barbies. She also has her original gold bangle, hoop earrings! One hole per ear and no green ear! How perfect is this girl?! She is FABULOUS! It was so fun to find Barbie in her original little nest with all the fun boxes and precious accessories that Alice had lovingly kept and preserved. You can tell that this Barbie was truly loved and treasured. This Barbie is in very good condition. She has the holes in her feet to hold her up in the included original stand (which has a cosmetic chip on the back side). The copyright marking is visible on her right buttock. Her right foot has the word JAPAN on the bottom.She has white irises and sharply arched eyebrows. All of her features are original. Her ponytail has never been taken down. This is the exact model shown on the Wikipedia page about the introduction of Barbie at the American International Toy Fair on March 9, 1959, Barbie's official birthday. Vintage #1 Barbie Ponytail Original Paint and Hair with Box Beautiful Face +++
eBay For your consideration is a beautiful, number one, ponytail Barbie. One owner, who keep this doll in a cedar chest all these years. Her face is one of the most beautiful that I have ever, still retaining all of it's original paint, even on her cheeks! Her hair is in it's original set and looks like the original rubber band. The only flaw that I can see is some discoloration on her feet where she had on shoes. It may come off but I ain't gonna touch it! Both of the metal shafts are present on the holes in her feet but one is shoved up into the hole, please see photos. All paint is present on her nails and toes. All limbs are tight and move well. Her torso even retains some of the original flesh color! Such nice clear crisp markings on her butt and foot. Comes with her original swimsuit and box. Box has one end missing and the other end has splits on the corners, please see photos. Also included are the coat and sheath dress for Evening Splendor. She had on this bra but I am not familiar enough with Barbie to know if it is a Barbie bra or not. It fits perfectly. Also one brown shoe with the hole in it, it is not marked Japan. These items came with the doll so I wanted to include them.FREE SHIPPING! Vintage HTF #1 Original Brunette Barbie Doll Zebra Suit Holes in Feet 1959
Vintage and very hard to find original #1 Brunette Barbie Doll with her black and white swimming suit from 1959. I was so excited to find her. She has all her original face paint with no touch ups. How pretty are those arched brows? Her lips have naturally faded to an orangey-red color. No green ear or neck splits. Her hair is in it's original ponytail with no missing plugs I can find. Her bangs are still very curly, although a touch all over the place. The ponytail is a little on the loose side and the ends seem to have lost some curl. You could totally restyle it if you'd like. I gave her a new lower elastic. Her body is in excellent condition. No loose limbs. She has all her original red finger and toe nail polish with just a little minor wear. There are just a few spots that look to me like they were from the original molding process- light indents on her right arm, a couple lines on the left arm and a raised spot on the back of her right calf. The color from her shoes has seeped into her feet giving them purple shoe shaped marks. This seems to happen with #1s and #3s who have been wearing their shoes for 50+ years. She has holes in both of her feet to accommodate the #1 stand. It looks like the copper tube on her right hole is pushed up inside about 1/8" from the bottom of her foot. The left is sticking out slightly. She's marked Japan lengthwise on the bottom of her right foot and Barbie TM on her bottom. Please see the photos as part of her description. (Condition: Pre-Owned)

The Model 850 doll, with the original box, accessories, and documents from 1959 are all in good condition (see photos). The doll was “gently played with” for only a short period of time in 1959. Her hair was never disturbed and still has the original rubber band. No restoration work has been done. There are holes in the feet with metal cylinders in both legs which fit onto the original black two-pronged stand, stamped Barbie T.M. By Mattel. 1959 VINTAGE BRUNETTE #1 PONYTAIL BARBIE DOLLALL ORIGINAL FACE PAINTThe Holy Grail of Barbie Collecting!INCLUDES ORIGINAL TM BOX, ZEBRA STRIPED SWIMSUIT, OPEN TOED SHOES, SUNGLASSES & BOOKLETUp for auction is a beautiful brunette #1 Ponytail Barbie doll with all original face paint. She is the holy grail of Barbie collecting. Her face paint is gorgeous! She has a few pin pricks on the side of her face, but they do not detract at all.Her ponytail has been retied and her hard curl restored. Her ponytail is thick; her bangs are a little thin but still ok. I do not see any missing plugs.Her body has faded to a very nice, pale color; not ghostly. She has no green ear, no foul odors, and the tubes in both feet are present. The tubes do not protrude like most do, so you can get her shoes on. Most tubes protrude beyond the foot which makes the shoes impossible to get on. Japan is written across the bottom of her right foot, she has a nice stance, and holds all poses well. The nail polish on her right hand is all original, the polish on her left hand has been touched up. The tips of her toes have had some repair, I'm not sure what because you cannot see any repair from the bottom. I almost did not notice that she had some repair to her toes.She will come with her original TM box which has seen better days. The top has taped ends and one side has been taped; the bottom is a reproduction. The shoes are nice, the booklet is perfect, the sunglasses have a broken arm (one is shorter than the other, but they still work fine), the swimsuit is a little loose on top. Vintage beautiful #1 blonde ponytail Barbie by Mattel manufactured mold 1958 tm is from original owner. She kept one doll from her childhood. She was as shown wrapped in tissue paper in her dresser drawer. I am privileged to sell this for her. Barbie has stenciled features. She has dye marks on her feet from the shoes. She is missing one copper tube in her foot. Her accessories are original to her. She does need cleaning. I have not touched her to attempt to clean. Her nail polish is perfect on hands and toes. Her lips have the red/orange appearance. Her hair is still in original set with a stabilizer rubber band to support the one that has deteriorated over the years. She is marked on her backside. No green on her anywhere. One OT shoe strap has a split. No box. No original stand included. (Condition: Pre-Owned)

RARE HTF VNTG 1959 1 850 TM BLONDE PONYTAIL BARBIE DOLL-COTTON CASUAL-#912
This auction is for a rare, hard to find 1959 #1 blonde ponytail Barbie doll. There were only 350,000 #1 Barbie dolls made in this issue. She has a beautiful face with the characteristic inverted V or lightening bolt eyebrows, side glancing eyes with white irises, blue eyeliner, curly bangs, and metal cylinders in her legs that end with the holes in her feet for her doll stand. Her doll stand was not found with her. Her eyebrows are intact as her ruby red lips. Her right eyebrow is faint at the outer edge, but it is there to make her eyebrows complete and original. Her gold tone hoop earrings are artist's custom reproductions of the original earrings, and look very appropriate. Her light tone, heavy body is pale, indicative of the #1 Barbies, and feels solid. She also comes with her original sunglasses with blue lens. The right arm of the sunglasses is looser than the left, but both stay on her head when placed. I see there are reproductions of the original doll stands that can be found on ebay to complete her look. I will leave that up to the new owner! She was found with many of the clothing outfits made as those first issue of Barbie outfits which I will be listing soon. Japan is marked on bottom of her foot closer to the heel on her right foot. She is an estate sale find! She comes from one prior owner and a pet free home. It says that I ship within 2 days, 99.9% of the time, I ship within 24 hours. Rare Barbie #2 Brunette Ponytail Display Doll Silhouette Box Plantation Belle
eBay This is the rare Barbie #2 brunette ponytail display doll silhouette box plantation belle. This item is sold in used condition. In my opinion, it is in very good to excellent condition for its age. The item has wear / dirt on them, see pics. The bottom box has split on side and bottom inside/outside edge split. Both have tape on it. The top box lid has 3 corner / edge splits with tape on it. The doll front waist and back, arms have discolor from wearing dress. The left arm has small plastic pc sticking up near elbow. Rough plastic feeling on doll arm in that area, see pics. The arms and legs move up and down fine, but you must take it slow on the legs. They have not been used for long time, and are very stiff to move. The left leg is a harder to move, than the right. The doll right ear has something sticky? on ear, behind it, on hair, see pic. The left ear hole is ripped a little, see pic. The toes/ foot area have a little discolor on front and back, see pics. The dress is tagged, barbie r. The stand is marked tm, and on back marked Japan and Mattel International r, see pic. The necklace is broken. The earring is missing color on round part, see last pic. The white skirt is dirty around waist section. The barbie doll is marked tm. The tm is worn, have to see it on angle closeup. The store display box label says #866 plantation belle. Then under it #966, see pics. Some pics with flash made items brighter, but showed more detail. The doll is not bright white that some pics show. Pic #1 is a close match in color. #1 Barbie Ponytail Doll Original 1959 Brunette Excellent Cond!!! Estate Find~~
Estate Find! this #1 Barbie Doll is a recent estate find. Right foot marked Japan. No markings on back of head. No discoloration around the earrings. It's been suggested that this may have been a Silhouette boxed doll but I have no evidence of this other than the fact that she has pearl earrings which would have been original to a silhouette with the Gay Parisian outfit.
