eBay It is time to sell my older sister's #1 Barbie that she received in 1959. She is all original, never really played with, only used to make clothes for my Barbie later on. Her ponytail will need some care, the rubber bands have disintegrated over time and the ponytail has lost its curl. Her hair has never been cut, it just appears a bit shorter than usual because it is "fluffed". Her makeup is totally original, and in excellent condition. All nail and toenail polish is still there, one of the few flaws I see with her is from red shoes she has worn, there is some red on her feet from these. Absolutely no green ear at all. All joints are tight She does have a stain on her thigh, very light. The stand has a small piece broken out of one side, but doesn't show when that side is turned to the back. She doesn't have her original box anymore, the right lid was switched over the years, but she does have her booklet, (written in and some tears to pages) original black shoes with holes, earrings, sunglasses in excellent shape, stand and swimsuit. I even have extra black shoes I will send with her.I will pay shipping and insurance and double/triple box her. She is the best #1 Barbie I have seen on eBay recently, with the fewest flaws! Number One Blonde Ponytail Barbie with the Original Early Fashions, Pronged TM Mattel #1 Stand Accessories and Case Little nine year old Alice received the first issue Barbie teenage fashion doll for Christmas in 1959. Mattel’s Barbie had just made her debut at the International Toy show in New York. This is a rare opportunity to own a very special number one Barbie with the original “one owner” childhood collection. It includes many early fashions, complete with the jewelry and accessories This Ponytail Barbie is stunning with her cute upturned nose and signature ponytail. She has dramatic lightning shaped eyebrows and handpainted makeup ; blue side glancing eyes, blue eyeliner, smoky eye shadow, coral red lips, red fingernails and toenails. She’s truly stunning and in remarkable condition for being 64 years old. She is 99% original and retains most of her original factory characteristics This number one blonde ponytail has the extended hairline, which is different from the number threes and later dolls. She is very unusual and rare in that she has two distinctly different hairlines from left to right. Her right side is curved and differs from the straighter hairline on the left. She is wearing her original hairstyle set with the top knot and hard curl at the bottom. The ponytail has been retied with matching colored thread as the band was shot. Her hair is uncut and she has no missing plugs. She has a flocked scalp, silky floss hair in baby chick yellow, full poodle bangs with well defined curls and a cute spit curl on her forehead. Her make up is excellent. as is the the nail and toenail polish. She has all of the correct markings on her bottom; Mattel Barbie TM, 1958 in Roman numerals, pat pending and the number 65. She is marked Japan on the bottom of one foot. Her limbs are nice and tight, but she is able to hold any pose. Her neck moves freely, and there are no issues. She has beautiful and even creamy, pale pinkish ivory body color which is amazing as I e usually sees a in e sort of fading . She has beautiful straight legs with the desired daylight shown only between the thigh and knee , and knee and ankle…A sign of classical beauty with models. She has holes in each of her feet with the original copper tubes present. And she even has her original Mattel TM two prong stand which is very valuable! She has had very minor work done.. a professional restoration to her right pinky and a little touch up to her eyelash ridges. There was also one teeny pinpoint freckle on her left leg just below the knee that has been touched up to match the body color . If you look closely at the photos, you will see how gorgeous this doll is. I have not seen one in original condition that is this outstanding. Barbie has a boyfriend , Ken, who will be listed in a separate listing. Blonde Barbie comes with her original iconic black and white swimsuit, white cat, eyeglasses, black, OT mules with holes. Thankfully her feet do not have any of the staining that is typical with these Barbies. She also has her original gold bangle, hoop earrings! One hole per ear and no green ear! How perfect is this girl?! She is FABULOUS! It was so fun to find Barbie in her original little nest with all the fun boxes and precious accessories that Alice had lovingly kept and preserved. Her face is one of the most beautiful that I have ever, still retaining all of it's original paint, even on her cheeks! Her hair is in it's original set and looks like the original rubber band. The only flaw that I can see is some discoloration on her feet where she had on shoes. It may come off but I ain't gonna touch it! Both of the metal shafts are present on the holes in her feet but one is shoved up into the hole, please see photos. All paint is present on her nails and toes. All limbs are tight and move well. Her torso even retains some of the original flesh color! Such nice clear crisp markings on her butt and foot. Comes with her original swimsuit and box. Box has one end missing and the other end has splits on the corners, please see photos. Also included are the coat and sheath dress for Evening Splendor. She had on this bra but I am not familiar enough with Barbie to know if it is a Barbie bra or not. It fits perfectly. Also one brown shoe with the hole in it, it is not marked Japan. RARE 1959 Original Vintage #1 Brunette Ponytail Barbie Doll with clothes. This was my wife's 10th birthday present in 1959, and she has kept it lovingly ever since. This Barbie is in very good condition. She has the holes in her feet to hold her up in the included original stand. The copyright marking is visible on her right buttock. Her right foot has the word JAPAN on the bottom.She has white irises and sharply arched eyebrows. All of her features are original. Her ponytail has never been taken down. We cleaned her body, but felt we didn’t have the expertise to clean the smudges on her face. This is the exact model shown on the Wikipedia page about the introduction of Barbie at the American International Toy Fair on March 9, 1959, Barbie's official birthday. IMPORTANT: My eyes are seriously not what they used to be and many times I do not see a spot or flaw until I get the photos from my phone. It picks up flaws and debris that I absolutely cannot see even with my glasses. So please use photos to guide you in bidding because they tell what I sometimes cannot see.Gorgeous #2 blonde ponytail with T.M. everything. Hair is still in original topknot, never taken down; soft and silky, none missing, no cuts or trims. Paint is original and I've tried to handle her as little as possible. She appears to have faint blush but her face needs cleaning. The black dot beside her left eye may be permanent as I was unable to remove it with a damp Q-tip. No damage to nose or neck, no green. Body is very tight and I would be shocked to my toenails if this doll ever saw any play at all. The only thing I can find to pick at is her left shoulder area where the arm will pull away from the body but I've not tried to pull it out. I suspect it will come out with force, which I'm not about to apply. She has gray discoloration on the backs of her calves that, again, I've not tried to clean. Her box has wear and tape. Her T.M. stand is scuffed but intact. Her T.M. booklet is excellent, as is her suit. This is a clean one-owner Barbie from 1959. As you can see, the color on this doll is a really nice natural skin tone. Not faded or discolored like most of these early Barbies. There are stains are on the feet where the shoes were on but the rest of the doll is very nice.
