Vintage #3 Ponytail Barbie Doll 1959 One Owner Stand Accessories Box 850
eBay Stunning Original 1959 Blonde #3 Ponytail Barbie with Original Swimsuit, Sunglasses Stand Booklet and Case Fresh from a one owner estate comes this beautiful original blonde ponytail Barbie from 1959. Stock model number 850.. the original teenage fashion, model doll! She is the third issue Mattel Barbie and is in wonderful untouched original condition with no touchups. She has her original hard curl on her ponytail, which has been retied with a matching colored thread. She has that beautiful, baby chick, soft blonde floss hair with a flocked scalp. No missing plugs. And a beautiful full array of curly poodle bangs with a Darling spit curl coming down onto her forehead. She has a beautiful face with side, glancing blue eyes and blue eyeliner. This is one of the more rare versions of Ponytail Barbie as the majority of the #3’s had brown eyeliner . In the Barbie Bazaar magazine, there is a reference to some rare transitional number three Barbies, and this is one of those rare Barbies. For the most part she has even pinkish Body color, some very light fading from her waist to her upper torso no doubt from wearing her swimsuit for many years. The third issue dolls were prone to fading almost completely to white so it is nice that this girl has retained a lot of her original color. She is simply stunning . She retains quite a lot of her fingernail polish. Her right pinky has a darkened tip but no damage. Wonderful original make up with some fading to the lips and a little area at the very end of her left eyebrow .This girl is original with NO TOUCH UPS! And she has the heady smell of crayons ;0). No chew marks, holes or other problems to note. One whole per ear. She is on a solid TM body and has clear markings on her bottom. Number 26 on her left bottom cheek, and Barbie TM Patent Pending, 1958 in Roman numerals by Mattel Japan, Marked Japan on bottom of foot. She comes with an original stock 850 box which is in fantastic condition with very vibrant graphics. The Gay Parisienne version. It is one of the best boxes I have ever seen with virtually no fading, it almost looks new. Amazing! . There is one indented end and the date 1959 has been circled but otherwise the boxes fantastic. See pics Stock number 850, 1959 blonde . The graphics are wonderful as it shows all of Barbies early outfits. There is one tiny missing spot to the black coat on Easter Parade. Miss Barbie has her original iconic black and white striped zebra bathing suit, black open toe mule heels (marked Japan on left one) , white cat eye sunglasses with blue lenses, ponytail booklet and a Stand. This vintage 1960 Barbie doll was a super exciting find for me in the summer of 2001. My 17 year old daughter had been away to Italy for a year as a Rotary Foreign Exchange Student. We missed her immensely and I was searching for a welcome home gift that would mark the special occasion. Being that she grew up playing with Barbies, when I saw this doll at a moving sale I knew I had found THE GIFT. I was stunned at how pristine she was - quickly learning it was because she was deemed "too mature" at the time for a little girl to play with. Her mother had tucked Barbie, box and all, in a closet. Substituting instead a Ginny doll for her daughter to play with. (I bought the Ginny doll too).My daughter was thrilled to tears with the gift, but had grown-up during her year away. She valued the doll as an investment, so once again Barbie was carefully tucked away, this time in a temperature controlled locked safe. Fast forward 20+ years and my daughter has given the go-ahead to sell her super special Barbie. (Her son is excited by Legos.)Ready for her new Best Friend we offer this 1960 vintage #3 (transition #4) Barbie Doll.Original 1960 #3 Barbie with Blue Irises and Brown curved Eyebrows. This is one of the FEW Barbies made with the Brown Eyeliner AND she is from a later in the year issue of a new vinyl plastic formula that would NOT turn a sickly white. (Collectors refer to the tan-toned dolls to be #4.) However this doll has the brown eyeliner making her a RARER 1960 #3 TRANSITION BARBIE!! EXCELLENT COLORING all around on her swimsuit, hair, red accents, cheek blush, sunglasses and box: I believe due to the fact she has been stored in a closet for her first 40 years and a safe the past 23 years.Included with her is The Barbie COTTON CASUAL Dress #912. It has a name and date inked on the inside: Beth 1-7-60. It was purchased with the doll but obviously stored separately thus showing some dust accumulation on the the top of the bodice.This doll comes complete with:Original pair of white and blue black and white swimsuit which still fits like a glove. I don't think it has ever been completely off.Matched pair of black shoes (one plain/one stamped "Japan") designed for the No. 1 with holes in the shoe bottoms to accommodate a stand. (NO stand was with her when I purchased in 2001.)This beautiful item has been gently stored away for her entire existence in a pet-free, smoke-free home. Her Body is in AMAZING SHAPE for being over 60 years old.The plastic has not changed colors. Her skin smells like crayons. Her joints are nice and tight. Her lips, nose, fingers and toe nails are still bright red.Her cheeks are blushed.On her bottom right butt cheek you can clearly see "Barbie™ Pats Pend © MCMLVIII by Mattel Inc," On her left butt cheek is the B 42. (usually referred to as a mold number)Brown eyeshadow & Brows and curved (not pointy) brow line indicates she is a #3 Barbie. The original top Hair band is intact.Her Bang curls are still tight.Pearl Stud Earrings are intact. Her right side earring shows slight green from metal ear stud. Her left earring is clear & clean.There are no visible neck splits Included is her Barbie COTTON CASUAL Dress #912. It has a name and date inked on the inside: Beth 1-7-60. It was purchased with the doll but obviously stored separately thus showing some dust accumulation on the the top of the bodice.There are some faint dark blotches on her right calf. A few mold indents may be visible on the rest of her body as is normal for this type of molded plastic doll body. I did not undress her completely but did see one such blemish on the back of her torso under the swimsuit. Please study ALL photo's as they are part of this items description. There are NO foot tubes/holes on this #3 doll.THE BARBIE BOX is in near mint condition! Marked Stock No 850. BLOND, Japan. copyright 1959. No tears or rips. Minor top lid curving and bubbling of the color design paper pressboard. The bottom inside lid has some discoloration as does the box bottom with a moisture mark near one end. I have left her on the folded cloth napkin as she was found. 1961 Mattel Barbie Stock Number 850 Pony Tail Manos Collection Swimsuit Barbie
eBay This Barbie doll was purchased from the Manos Collection, an esteemed Barbie collector. I believe that this doll was featured on page 9 of The World of Barbie Dolls(blue book) by Paris and Susan Manos. The original seller of the doll would neither confirm nor deny this fact. The doll appears to be new in box but the Manos collection has added a plastic wrap around the doll. The doll has some visible discoloration around the earrings due to its age. It appears that the doll has not been taken out of the box.This doll is stock number 850, and it is an iconic doll from the swimsuit collection. The Barbie doll is an antique and is perfect for collectors or those who love vintage dolls. The doll is an original, manufactured in Japan, under the Matel franchise. This fashion doll is a Caucasian girl doll and belongs to the ponytail Barbie product line. There are some extra shoes in the box along with the original booklet. The inside sleeve part of the box is coming apart on 2 corners sold as is. Buttocks is stamped Roman numerals which makes her the first release of Bubble cut Barbie in Titian Red. No pedestal. Condition is "Used". An AMAZING DOLL to any collection!!! Offered here is a vintage red head Barbie doll still in her box.<br />Stock number 850<br />Imported from Japan<br />Swirl ponytail doll, hair never undone.<br />Doll bottom marked Midge 1962, Barbie 1958, by Mattel Patented.<br />She is wearing a red swim suit.<br />Booklet and shoes are still factory sealed and she comes with a gold metal stand.<br />The dolls is supposed to have pearl earrings, but she does not.<br />She is like new condition No sign she was ever played with.<br />Box shows slight wear.<br />Bonus yellow knit suit and pair of white high heels and pink high heels.

A vintage 1962 Midge Doll in blonde Bubble Cut from the Barbie collection. This 11.5-inch doll by Mattel features blue eyes and straight unbendable legs. It is made of hard plastic and belongs to the Barbie franchise, specifically the Bubble Cut Midge product line. This original Caucasian girl doll is a classic addition to any Barbie collection. The Midge Doll was first released in 1962 and retained straight legs for 2 years.This was one of my sister's dolls. She's gone, but maybe she could've confirmed that this box, though dated 1962, may not be for a Midge. I've seen a number of postings for boxes with stock number 850 that were for a Midge or a Barbie, so no confirmation either way.Doll is in great shape! Happy to answer questions.From parent's estate, smoke-free environment.On Feb-21-25 at 10:21:00 PST, seller added the following - 2/21/2025 - I was asked about the ears.
